  • Hey AuntBee09! Please make your Boot Volume Mountable or You will have a BSOD Forever!

  • if you get this BSOD on a dell computer, first of all RUN DIAGS on the hard drive and take note of the error code if it fails, if it pass just get your windows disk, boot from it go to repair option and do the chkdsk /r/n/f :), this repair and fix is a dobble check to your windows files

It worked good this morning, but when I came home today it was at this screen...I don't know what is wrong.

I can't even start in Safe Mode without it automatically restarting...can you help me?

  • oh the 0x00000000 i had this too but on my hp

  • If this is the first time you have booted after installing new hardware, remove the hardware and boot again. Check the Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List to verify that the hardware and its drivers are compatible with Windows 2000. For information about the hardware, contact the supplier. If you are installing Windows 2000 for the first time, check the Windows 2000 system requirements,

  • Helppp...! I have not Dell but the black screen also appears to me and whatever I click...Safe mode, start windows normally or else... suddenly a blue screen appears an PC restarts again! They told me that the proble is that hard disk is burned or something, but I want to get all my files recovered before format...How can this happen???

  • if you downloaded from the internet you

have an internet virus, your regular anti-

virus will be good for your computer viruses, however anything that has been

downloaded or used from the internet

will require an internet virus protection software which also may be causing a

    blue or black screen.

  • same thing happens to me and it sucks!!! i have to go to safe mode >:(

  • I forgot to add this error always happed to me when someone shuts the computer off wrong like pulling the power cord out then its on or the power goes out while it's on.

  • I had this same error on windows 2000 pro computer I took the hard drive out of it connected it to another computer and ran chkdsk from the command prompt on a win xp pro computer and it found errors after that I reconnected it into the win 2000 pro computer again and it booted fine...

    Hope this info helps

  • dude i have the same problem when i start it up but it says keyboard failure then it says pick a mode but i pick a mode and it does the same blue screen every time even if i press f8

  • In responce to your battery question, at a wild guess, it might be your lithium button battery thats low, does your system clock ever lose time? I had this problem, its just the small lithium battery, just a bit bigger than a watch battery, they are easy to replace. It could be something completely different i'm not sure.

  • I think you're probably right. I have considered getting a new battery, but it does not seem to be affecting my performance, so I've left it so far.

    Thanx for commenting!

  • @david..

Having trouble finding where your intelligence hid?

  • Always wanted to say that. :)

  • put VISTA or Windows 7 CD into your CD drive, and boot up, and click (fix... bla bla)

    and fix it,

If it doesn't working, try to make another partition, and install new operating system. and Back up your files!

    IF IT doesn't working.

You Need a new hard drive OR new computer.

try it and let me know if you have any question. thanks.

  • Another viewer was also recommending that, so I think next time I have a free day, I'll try it. Thank you, and I will try a video if that fixes it.

  • She has XP. And Vista 7 is still in beta.

  • I had a problem with the computer turning on, saying something about RAM, then shutting down. My solution to that was holding the ON button while plugging it in. Bootleg...

Dell for some reason usually has issues with certain models. In my example, the faulty motherboard giving false errors.

Either way, once you do get it fixed from the help of these gentlemen here, make sure you get a large flashdrive and back things up on there, so if reformatting needed, it won't be too bad.

  • I should have done that with the flash drive a long time ago... I even had one, but I just never got around to backing it up on it... I regret it now :/

But thank you for the advice!

  • If you dont want to loose everything (yet) Try inserting the XP disc, and when prompted to hit enter to install, OR press "R" to recover console, press R, and after the default keyboard time out, and selecting which one to log into (it will say 1: C:\Windows 2: D:\ blah) Something like that, and then type in fixboot

FIXBOOT has helped me fix some booting issues, but even if that fails, there may be no other way, because it sounds it could have corrupted some files

  • That is very very helpful. When I find time, I will try to do that. (starting it up in different modes makes no difference...).

    Thank you so much!

  • Hey, no problem :D

unfortunatly I have to ship my laptop in to HP, because the DVD drive would lockup when i put a normal video DVD in, and it would dissapear from My computer, so its definatly the drive...

  • try safe mode, if you havent, and if all fails, reinstall XP

  • If you HAVE tried save mode, and all fails, THEN reinstall XP.. sorry bout that

  • I had that problem along time ago, and was able to recover it with a reboot disc. but you will lose everything, even though you have not been on it in along time. Good luck!!

    Erik

  • I was hoping to avoid that, but it's looking like that is the popular solution...

    Thank you for commenting.

  • I had this with my old computer, im afraid that i remember it requires a full wipe and re-install of windows... i think.

  • o gees, that is not what I wanted to hear...

    but thanx for the advice!

  • i'll go with JASON on this one...

  • I have the article, tried to send it, but your friend lock is on

  • sorry, I have that setting to reduce spam. can you send it to my email (auntbee09 at aim)

    thanx so much!

  • again??? ;( you should get new desktop and Laptop..

Get a new Operating system, (hard drive problem)

  • the "hard drive" seems to be a theme among the comments, so I will look into that that. Thank you for commenting.

  • I had a problem like that once before... Instead of actually finding a cure for it, I just re-formatted my entire hard drive.

  • hmmm, i might have to do that.... but then i'll loose everything on that computer.... thanx for the advise!

  • Sorry your still having problems with it.

  • Actually, I have had this problem for quite a while, but I thought, "I should post it and see if anyone has a solution for fixing it!"

    Thanx for commenting Matthew! :)
