  • Also, you don't need the menu after you've already ordered.

  • As a restaurant manager I dont see how this additional expense would really add value to the customer experience in a way that would increase sales. Carryout orders are over 60% of the business.

  • Hey friend, I Like your video! Plz like, comment, and sub mine too! I will do the same for you!! Stay in touch! Cheers~~!! :)

  • Its 2011...i didnt see anyone Market out this Product..!!! -.-

  • Eliminate the idea of a tray and put this into an actual table top. Don't put this in all table tops, make it for 2 or 3 table tops per restaurant. Make the screen alot bigger. Most customers will already have a cell phone so the only big draw is giving the customer a large touch screen area then their cell phone can provide. Otherwise this idea will fail.

  • great invention, people are not fat enought around the world, so why not help more people to become one of the group. GO FAT PEOPLE GO FAT PEOPLE. isted od kreat something that is good for peoples health you creat this, and of korse burger king who else.

  • Great.... another product that is designed for right hand users and completely ignore left hand user habits.

  • Unbelievable, that some of the stupidist inventions that are coming around. Who needs a damn ipod on your tray while you eat???..and tell that kid to get his damn feet off the table!

  • good concept ,but aren't we ALREADY bombarded by marketing BS .I dont know about you but when i go into a restaurant i want to eat not get crammed with useless stuff .....the iphone gives me all the info i want already

  • In Soviet Russia tray serves you!

I can hear "Can't fight the moonlight" in the background.

  • ok bigproblems, the trays are expensive, people will probably steal them and find a way to unlock and sell them, a good idea would be a touch screen in a table, also, i do not want to strain my eyes on a tiny screen while i am trying to eat, also unless you have a lot of docking stations, then you have a problem, also people are so used to putting trays on the trash cans or just on the table that it would be very hard to get5 them to put them on the docking statioins

  • thers 1 flaw to this, it will be stolen lots

  • It's not working for me. It shouldn't be in the tray, but on the table. The interactive concept is ok and can be built on.

  • @housechores I agree. Skip the tray and build into a table.

  • Good Invention! I'm sure we will see these eventually..only a matter of time. Great Marketing tool for companies and recreational tool for consumers to interact through. :-)

  • never thought trays would be a high target item for thieves.

  • it seems pretty limitless, just add new software to cater to each buisness..neat stuff

  • dang...i want one.

  • In a 100 years into the future when OLED or other form of video screen technology is cheap as printed paper a 1 inch height x 5 in. wide screen centered across the long end, with no buttons just auto repeat short video clips looped over and over with no sound. Or maybe low volume high tech directional sound. Just short clips. I think it's waste of time. If at all it will happen in the future but it will happen when the time is right and by the companies. Forget it or invent a super cheap screen!

  • I'll give it an "A" for ae-ffort.

  • Its an ipod in a tray..?The tray could be the screen..use new technology that is getting cheaper..it could sell more food in the restaurant...without a choice menu-it advertises continuously without noise..

  • It is more of an iPhone :-) and it can be used to distribute iTunes and iVideos.

Most importantly it is possible to sell through the tray!

  • @jiminiflix seriously by the time these things are actually in use people will all have iphone and ipads and stuff. Plus once you make it and its on the market in the next year apple will make the iTray or some crap like that. steve jobs will be like "the most revolutionary in fast food trays is here... the new iTray." It will be like a huge touchscreen that has 5g internet and you can talk to the chef

  • Great job guys! Nothing beats a great invention other than one with a million uses.

  • Thank you! We are betting a lot on it :-)

  • it's gona keep the people sitting there for hours mingeling with it. not too good for fastfood places he?

  • it will help QSRs up sell their burgers and make more money on advertising and third party product sales. Look at Google, they re-invented the online ad industry. Nobody believed in them before and now they are almost the size of Microsoft.

  • True about Google. But fast food places don't really want people hanging around for too long. It would probably drive people away from eating in the restaurant saying to their company nah too many people hanging around in there messing with the dam trays. Packed crowded. The screen is in the wrong spot. 100 years into the future when OLED or other form of video screen ischeap as printed paper a 1 in. height and 5 in. wde scren across the long end, with no buttons just auto repeat updated!

  • great way to keep fat people fat and lazy people lazy!!!!!forget about it guys...

  • cool idea but damn... make the screen at least 5 times bigger than THAT!

  • There is still the chance of the theft taking it and opening it and making their own source of power. Like hot wiring it a batter or outlet. Do you still think its not really necessary?

  • It will not be possible to get the device out of the tray without breaking the tray.

For restaurants that experience high theft, it is possible to install an alarm into the tray.

  • don't forget that many malls or plazas have movie theaters in them, it would be nice to look up movie times or watch previews while grabbing some food while shopping. It could be like a partnerships advertisement between the fast food restaurant and the movie theater.

  • Good point. We thought about shopping malls and hospitals.

There are a few unique features we are planning to add to the tray for these special locations.

  • those seem expensive especially for a fast food restaurant to give out to everyone what if someone steals them?

  • Good points!

    1. It is cheaper to equip the restaurant with 100 trays and a station than to install three plasma panels.

    2. The trays become useless after the battery goes dead, which is in about two hours after they get stolen.

The flexible design architecture allows us to embed an anti-theft system into the tray, but that is not really necessary (see point #2).

  • The kids are amazing. Where did you find them?

  • 1. This is proof of concept prototype. Production model will have 3.5 inch screen (almost double current size).

    2. The tray is intended for individual use. It is possible to share content among the trays.

    3. Cell phones are available today. However, SmartTrays will not be replaced for three key reasons: 1. greasy fingers 2. interesting content 3. convenience

    4. Watch some of the other videos on Mediox tray. These videos are not intended for general public at the moment.

  • 4. You need to find someone who has some experience in speaking on video to do your promotions. By doing it all yourself you are presenting your product in a very amature way.

  • 3. By the time this goes to market (if it does) most people will have cell phones or handhelds of some sort that already does what this does...and some.

  • 2. There is no way that a group of 3 or 4 can view the tray's screen. These fast food restaurants will put an entire order for 3 or 4 on one tray.

  • 1. The viewing screen is too small for one person to enjoy.

  • At present, we are seeking venture capital and are using this video to demonstrate product potential to VCs and restaurants.

    Happy New Year!

  • Thank you, cassowaryid! There is no limit of what is possible with Mediox Smart Tray. You are right, the tray may increase the time customers will spend in the restaurant; however, they will be tempted to make additional purchases and will generate advertising revenue for the restaurant.

  • just suggesting....

what about if you could pick up the tray as you entered and then keyed in your selection while waiting and when you get to the cashier, they don't have to feel a fool asking, and answering stupid questions? and the cashier just has to scan your selection?

    I like your thinking though.

  • good job Robert.

Just tying to think if you may keep people in the restraunt for longer than they should be therefore mimializing real sales over the counter of food. maybe It can be limited to not have too much information and just have an order system on it to save walking back up to the counter to order.

    not being critical,
