Taxpayers pay for Mass. transgender inmate's mammogram (1)

I'll add this: because my mother died of breast cancer, I began getting mammograms at 39. I had to get my doctor's referral for that one (she recommended I go). After 40 any woman can get one without a referral (I live in Canada, however and we have a different healthcare system than in the U.S.)

I'm now 51 .

My mother died of cancer....there were no mammography scanners then.  I think the problem really is this: the state should fund mammograms for EVERYONE who needs them, regardless of income level. It's a basic part of healthcare for all women (and for the men who need them). I do not see this person as a male, however.
