Continued: Snack- 1-2 oz cubed or string cheese, or 2-3 TB fruit or berries 1 cup whole milk Dinner- 2-3 oz cooked meat, ground or diced 1/2 cup cooked yellow or orange vegetables 1/2 cup pasta, rice, or potato 1/2 cup whole milk
Sample One-Day Menu for a One-Year-Old (who weighs 21 lbs) Per the Academy of Pediatrics: Breakfast-1/2 cup iron-fortified cereal or 1 cooked egg. 1/4-1/2 cup whole milk 1/2 banana, sliced 2-3 strawberries Snack-1 slice toast or whole wheat muffin w/ 1-2 TB cream cheese or peanut butter, or yogurt with cut-up fruit 1/2 cup whole milk Lunch- 1/2 sandwich sliced turkey or chicken, tuna, egg salad, or peanut butter 1/2 cup cooked green vegetables 1/2 cup whole milk
Dinner she can have almost anything you are having! Pasta, cut up noodles, steamed, boiled, roast veges, pieces of any kind of meat, rice, really she can have pretty much everything, just don't put much sauce, spice or salt on her food. Pop it on her high chair tray and let her feed herself, with her fingers or she can try a spoon and fork. It will be messy to begin with but she will get the hang of it! Hope this has helped a bit :)
@TheThieleFamily - Yes it has helped alot!!! Im going to write this down to remember! Thank you so much!!! She does like to use a spoon but very messy! Another thing is were bad on eating out & I dont want to have to buy her a kids plate & she doesnt eat much of it & were always on the go & baby food jars have been so nice to have.
Lunch she can have sandwiches with pretty much any filling - ham, chicken, cheese, marmite etc. bite size pieces of fruit, left over dinners, pancakes, bread sticks or rolls, crackers, cheese cubes, yoghurt
Breakfast she can have cereal like cheerios or nutrigrain (I'm in new Zealand so don't know what you have in America) but basically little pieces that she can pick up and eat, i just put them on her high chair tray. She could also have weetbix and milk mashed a little bit with a fork, bite size pieces of fruit or toast
She will do fine with no baby food! My daughter is 10 months nearly and eats mostly what we do. The baby food you have been feeding her, has it had lumps in it (like a mashed texture) or has it been smooth? I'll write another comment with some ideas of what Bella eats :)
@TheThieleFamily - Thanks for helping me! She has had stage 3 & also ive always mixed the stage 2 baby food with the rice cereal to add texture & to fill her up more. Her tummy just hurts sometimes when she eats table food. but I think itll get better in time.
I've been feeding my daughter table food since 8 months per doctors instruction. She should be fine on table food :)
