nobody got hurt. I was right in front of this crash. everyone rushed over to the rail in front of the cone that was left of the car and when they put conway on the stretcher he waved as if he was fine. tough crash though

I was shocked almost witless when I saw the replay. The key here was that Conway didn't go into the fence nose-first, unlike Brack during his Texas crash. Good thing he managed to survive largely unscathed.

A guy on here commented that a fan or two may have been hurt. You can see in the replay some of the debris getting through the fence. Thats why it says on the ticket to the race you are here at your own risk.

@TeamAutoBots...I don't think there were any cameras rolling at the off season test at Indy that Renna was killed at...if there were they were private cameras owned by the sanctioning body or Ganassi Racing and thus the footage would not have been released. Good thing too. I'm just glad Conway didnt get hurt worse than he was

I thinks is possible to see the leg of the pilot (in the botton) when the car hit the ground first time, its possible that his leg was broken hitting the fence on the first impact. Thank god was the only injury, could be worst.

i dont think it will make a difference.... if the wheels connect, it send the rear car into the air an once air gets under that flat body it just lifts off... i dont think new wings will help much

The Delta Wing and the BAT Chassis are suppose to prevent open wheel accidents when the wheels touch, especially the Delta wing.

Danica was lucky, as if she was racing those two harder, she would of at the very least got caught up in this, and Conway was lucky that the car didn't rotate quicker, or slower, otherwise he is a dead man

He's just lucky he didn't go in cockpit first...the poor guy would have really been in trouble then. I'm pretty sure what killed Tony Renna was hitting the catchfence cockpit first, I know at the very least Renna hit a support post.
