  • This is the difference between todays groups (if thats what you want to call them), just take a look at these guys and their stage.. no gimmicks, no flashing light shows or anything, just two blokes with outstanding harmonies belting out tunes as if it was the recording.. that my friends is talent.

  • 123 people don't know what a 'music' is.

  • This is a new song. Sure, the words may be the same as that of the old folk song, but it is a new song. The harmonies (especially with the Cantale added in the recorded version) makes this completely new

  • Not silly, I've been listening forever to Simon and Garfunkel, now I'm 59 and I still love this stuff

  • i was born in scarborough,north yorkshire,england

  • fabulous!

  • beautifully

  • A great rendition, as others have said there is a kind of mystical quality to the guitar arrangenment and quality singing as always from this duo

  • The song is English, British is an economic, political entity comprising of the Irish Scots Welsh and English!

  • @yachtno1

The song is English is indeed, but the rest of your statement is incorrect. The terminology involved is confusing, so it's a harmless mistake, but you might want to look into the proper distinctions between the various terms (United Kingdom, England, Great Britain, etc.) There's a good video on youtube that attempts to explain, find it here: watch?v=rNu8XDBSn10

  • I love your folk songs, British!

  • The Most Beautiful Song by Simon & Garfunkel. A True Masterpiece that Generates Emotions. The Lyrics itself makes this a true Epic! This is the Best version of this Ballad out of more than 50 versions of this song done by various artists from all around the World. I heard this song for the 1st time in 1998, when I was 7 years old & it made a huge impact on my life: by generating feelings towards Girls. (I hated girls from my earliest childhood until I heard this Beautiful Ballad!) :)

  • i love simon & garfunkel

  • these 2 will definately be angels in heaven

  • Back in Paris in 1982 with Jessica Korke. Both in love and listening to Simon and Garfunkel while at the movies...watching " The Graduate " staring Dustin Hoffman. Incredible feeling to listen to this song over and over. It takes you away to a never land or to an always land or to heaven itself. Amazing ! I have to admit that gay people produce more and straight people are only meant to criticize gay people more and for good....Up with Simon and Garfunkel !! George

  • Perfeito demais!!

    BRAZIL!!!!

  • May God Please Bless your brother and you forever! That is my prayer! Thank you!

Some music just scratches the surface, music likes this touches the soul

    Classic

  • @vnuwaifo couldn't have said it better.

  • @vnuwaifo so true about them touching the soul , they touch mine , even thou I was born in 65' I love this era of music &. disco era these are the era's. cause I get joy from them and I feel it with my arm hairs they stand up ,when I hear beautiful songs.,,I know its silly :))

  • @vnuwaifo vie seen some comments in my time, but that has to be the single gayest thing vie ever seen in my life. catch aids and die, please

  • To answer your question, I am going to Scarborough Fair.

    Love this!

  • why would someone dislike this? Oh must be those people who like screamo who dont appreciate true music

  • @neilmeschke I have a friend that completely appreciates "screamo" and loves this kind of music. Generalizations, stereotypes, and grouping a bunch of individuals into one category is ignorant. It all depends on the specific person, and their characteristics, likes, and dislikes. love yo azz

  • One of the greatest...

  • I listen to Paul and Garfunkel singings from a young boy to now I am an old man, but I still love their music. To me they are the greatest duo singers in the world for sure. And they are the evergreen in this music world !!

  • It's my first time to hear from internet.may I know the deep meaning of this song

    .

  • amazing!

  • the voice of an angels has come to earth and went into Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon. they're meeting is a miracle

  • @gallygirl132 If anyone wonders what the great philosopher Aristotle meant in his famous quote, "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts",....Simon & Garfunkel defines it perfectly.

Like gallygirl132 said, "their meeting is a miracle".

  • @gallygirl132 Simon and Garfunkel are not mentioned in the bible, thats demon talk

  • It feels like angels whispering... love it <3

  • 240p we meet again...

  • the bill bailey version is much better

  • i wish i could have lived along their blessed sides

  • Totally a different class, different and beautiful.

  • I carnt begin to say how much i like Simon & Garfunkel simply different class, seen Art at the symphony hall in Birmingham , Felt like i was in Heaven had tears streaming down my face , i was 47 just suffered a heart attack , lucky to be alive but felt more lucky watching Art . Emotion got the better of me

  • Shivers run up and down my spine...

  • wow.. real deal here

  • @grump456 *autotune

  • need love button

  • garfunkel should learn guitar so he won't just stand there awkwardly.

  • @jimmykinkade Because having a beautiful voice just isn't enough.

  • @jimmykinkade

garfunkel knows how to play both the guitar and the piano...but i guess he chooses not to play them when he performs

  • 116 people couldn't make him a cambric shirt...

  • does anyone else think that paul simon looks like a wise indian?

    I do.

  • I've just came back from heaven.

    Beautiful.

  • So freaking great they are

  • the answer to the core riddle in this song (there are many!) is tsunami. not a lot of people know that.

  • Are There Enough People?!

  • cool i will help you to feel like you are in heaven

  • Simple Simon met a pieman on his way to Scarborough Fair.

He, and his entourage, were heading there.

Simon said "Jump". And all did. For this was one of his rules.

Then someone said "Jump" without approval, and none did. For this was without approval.

How many cats and rats and mice met with approval?

Appreciate cat, rat and mice recipes.

    I've a few favourites if you're interested.

Simon says "Eat cats, and rats, and mice."

Now, what are you going to do?

I can help. Recipes are at hand.

  • @naganokumas You really gotta stop smoking that stuff!

  • it's like...heaven...

  • vocaloid 3 oliver...

  • I am a pacifist but the 115 people who disliked this need to be choked with a combination of Parsley, Sage , Rosemary and Thyme.

  • This is soooo beautiful, no words, great video!

  • THIS IS THE MASTER PIES OF MUSIC.LOVE THIS SONG TO HELL

  • I didn't see the dislikes

  • I really, really LOVE it!!! <3 it makes me sad

  • I didn't know heaven looked so much like Central Park.

  • @linkdark701 sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how many thumbs up my comment has.

  • <3

  • I love Simon and Garfunkel.

    Y.L.

  • i thought i would have to get to heaven to hear such beautiful voices

  • That's a good toupee Paul is wearing.

  • truly amazing and one of my favorites ever!

  • Wow, fantastic!

  • how can't you like this?

  • I wanna play the quitar like Paul does... It seems to be a piece of cake for him...

  • Its a sad but true fact, and not spoken of much, that Art Garfunkel would often beat Paul Simon backstage after each performance, in spiteful fits of jealousy fuelled rage, he just grew to hate that someone with so much talent as a musician and song writer would have a voice also to rival his one.

  • @Zephyesa where do you get that from?

  • @dididoum Paul told me in a bar one night, he likes been treated like a bitch.

  • 唐佳君=唐凡惟14歲買不到"原版"因此買了黃鶯鶯翻唱,原唱Simon & Garfunkel -Scarborough Fair 最好。

  • I am so frazed on my soul hearing this singer's voice. Very calm and peace. Great to you!!

  • Scarborough Fair is a an anonymous song about using herbs to mask the smells of death from The Black Plague.

Give this woman a series of impossible tasks, then she will belong to the suitor. Sounds ike a lawsuit to me!

Artie does the melody better than Paul, BUT Paul carries the harmonization in excellent fashion while playing excellent strings.

Check out Pauls' Muppet Show version!

  • I like when Paul looks over to Art at the 2:00 mark...

  • perfect. harmony.

  • that dou is so wonderful!!!!

  • cool Im daddys little girl

  • The legend goes that Henry the VIII wrote that magnificent hymn.

  • Just put some stuff in the slow cooker to use the turkey stock from Thanksgiving to make stew. I didn't put parsley in. Then I thought about this song.

Only been to Scarborough once and there was no fair then. So disapointed. Had my MP3 player playing that song on repeat the whole train ride from York,

  • So schön, so unendlich schön....

  • It's just hypnotic. One of best song EVER

  • Paul Simon's voice is so delicate and expressive.....one of a kind. I attended this concert in central park. As years pass, it just sounds better.

  • Fantastiske musikere!!!Amasic art job

  • Paul Simon looks like the Fonz. Note: While Art is simply singing the Melody, Paul is playing guitar (beautifully) and handling the harmonies (and some very high notes)....the heavy lifting.

  • Anno 1503 show me this...

    amazing tune...

  • A wise person once said: we do not regret the things we do, but the things we do not do. I was old enough to sneak out of my house, but only if I had the balls to make it all the way to Manhattan, I could have seen this with my own eyes.

  • In what year is this concert??

  • If you know the benefices I'm sure you'll like .

  • hihi I know what you need...I got everything you need

  • quando ho bisogno di ispirazione l'ascolto!

  • I was there in NY in 1981. Most amazing concert. God given voices!

  • 111 people don't like parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.

  • @DanpachiSama 113 people are not a true love of mine.

  • @DanpachiSama no roast lamb for them then!

  • @DanpachiSama Half of those are probably women, and in the medieval days, they would've loved that stuff if they didn't want to pop out children a lot.

  • @DanpachiSama people with out spice

  • MY SCARY English teacher made us watch this :O

  • @MrAwesomePark Than he's not scary!

  • Junior school, brown pamphlet, sat in front of the wireless on a bench with the rest of my class following the words and the music as it played. It was the first time I heard this song and it is one of the happiest memories of my childhood.

  • This song reminds me of my days in England, my classmate who fell in love with this song and our physics Professor who used this song as an example in his "The Aesthetics of Physics" class.

    Gone are the days.

    Yet memories live on...and...on...

  • dammit this is so amazing

  • man every time I watch this, Art just sings so effortlessly. I mean look at 3:22, he just folds his arms like "ya im about to hit this high note, but I'm such a great singer I dont need to do anything special to get to that note."

  • @redheadcover I remember when these two split. Yes! I was young and not too enlightened but I was really upset. What great vocalization, harmony..How could they do this to me...lol..

  • @redheadcover

Yea I agree, Garfunkel is a Natural.... His voice is unparalleled

  • @redheadcover But he still makes some room to hit the high note though - But fully agree ;D

  • @redheadcover I don't know much about him, but I think it was because he was shy, a little uncomfortable, in fact he didn't seem to know where to put his hands, believe me I recognize it because I do it too ^^

  • @redheadcover Well, where is he supposed to put his arms? Paul has a guitar, he has blank empty space. At least he's not twiddling his thumbs...

  • lool Your little princess is here to please you

  • i never giong to Scarborough Fair, but still love it. I love this song, love his voice...Im a VietNamese Girl!

  • timeless classics...such beautiful song...and she'll be a true love of mine....
