  • "Why didn't he phone while the hijacking was still in progress?" Ooops! Their question reveals they are fakes--they should have known that the public (and therefore their suspect) knew nothing until the passengers were released. These "investigators" wipe themselves out on that point.

Our fugitive was no loser. He carried out his detailed plan NOT by blind luck. He was not desperate, and he already had money. He was augmenting what he already had, successfully securing his life plan.

  • i believe cooper was kenneth christiansen--- check it out

  • these guys are idiots....they claim this guy came into a lot of money right after the D B Cooper jump. Not one single bill of the $200,000 ever was found in circulation. When bills get old they are sent back to the mint to be destroyed. All the serial numbers are checked to see if they were from some illegal event where the numbers had been previously recorded. That piece of info alone should have told them it wasn't cooper

  • What a fucking non-story.

And the hijacker NEVER called himself D.B. Cooper. It was Dan Cooper, taken from the comic-book.

  • He is not Cooper because he never existed, the only people to have described Cooper are the flight crew, Not one passenger knew he was there. The police never saw cooper on the plane. There was very little money found on the ground and there was no body or other evidence to suggest he died. There are also conflictions about how he looked. The 200,000 was taken and split by the flight crew. Some money was thrown out the stairs to make it seem cooper jumped and died.

  • Guys there a good chance this is not D.B. Cooper someone they found who claims that D.B. Cooper was her uncle look up D.B. Cooper Case Solved? Marla Cooper Claims Uncle Hijacked Plane in 1971 - Exclusive Interview

  • Daniel Dvorak is dead now

  • Has anyone considered finding a 1970's photo of Teddy Mayfield and comparing it to the sketch of DBC? Trying to see the resemblance after all this time is pretty ridiculous at best. Anyway, the FBI has DNA evidence on file which they could check against any suspect or person of interest which would answer all questions about Teddy being Cooper.

  • FYI: -In 1976, expiration of the 'statute of limitations' was imminent, -while interpretation of the statute varies, -a prosecutor could argue merits of the case. Thus in timely fashion, a Portland Oregon Grand-jury returned a zealous Indictment against a- 'JohnDoe' (aka 'DB.Cooper) for air-piracy and violation of the 'HobbsAct', a usFed.-law on robbery or extortion via interstate/foreign commerce. Thus initiating prosecution of the elusive hijacker, if apprehended any time in the future..!!!

  • Hahaaaaaaa! -you honestly said- "i'm not DB.Cooper" --because you're indeed 'Teddy Mayfield', -and admirably modest when you said you're not smart enough to plan the logistics of such a scheme! You're looking good (-BTW: that's a really brilliant ultralite-biplane you've built!); -the original FBI/artist-concept sure looks convincingly like you, --you rascal. Isn't the statute-of-limitations in effect on this infamous hist, -whereby the Law can't prosecute if you now write your own book...!?!

  • Michael Scofield already solved this case.

  • Comment removed

  • he could do depends commericials and be pp pooper

  • My hero!!!

  • Well maybe he should just explain how he DID get the money to be living so well just a short time after being destitute and that crime took place!

  • The only man that could find D.B Cooper is Chuck Noris

  • @blancoydt chuck noris is d.b copper haha

  • I am DB cooper I spent all the money on a golden toilet which I shit in daily FEAR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dick Butt Cooper

  • im NOT DB cooper so just stop it.......just stop....

  • I don't side much for people that rob but D.B.Cooper didn't hurt anyone and never did it again so maybe he was a guy hard up that just had to feed his family so I say good job D.B

  • This is very interesting, and the cops are s-t-u-p-i-d!

    This guys lying!

    Good work!

  • This is very interesting, and the cops are s-t-u-p-i-d!

  • this is good, this is good!

  • hey am DB Cooper can have my money back

  • no my father died a few years ago or I wouldn't be talking about it.

  • he was my dad

  • @jamiecoopertv Does your dad know you're here? I'm surprised the FBI didn't want your blood, it would be fun to analyze

  • he maded it

  • I smoked with DB Cooper

  • i hope he is alive

  • I am Db cooper

  • There is no evidence whatsoever that this man was Cooper.

How could he make a call when the hijacking was taking place? He would not have known about it.

  • how the hell was he going to call while the robbery took place? that dude is an idiot

  • @south9563 yeah, before he jumped call about skydivers

  • im not db cooper either

  • It always makes me want to say "P-P-Pooper"

  • a quick dna check would resolve this issue. duh???

  • @fwbrc51 I offered the FBI a dna sample and they ignored me. the FBI isn't interested in DNA tests

  • DB Cooper survived the jump but probably died of exposure

  • The FBI already said this is not him. The guy was too young, too short, and wrong color eys.

  • ...db cooper and the money he took... bawitaba de bang de bang diggy diggy said the boogey said up jump the boogie.. one of my favorite songs

  • A man just posted a video on YouTube saying he just found DB Cooper's lost cash. It's called "More DB Cooper Cash Found"

  • @saveeducation yeah it is an entertaining hoax. The skunk cam and my leg is broke hahahaha sure and elvis lives in my basement...i laughed my ass off

  • @jrewert - IT LOOKS ABSOLUTELY REAL TO ME. I HAVE SEEN STRANGER THINGS. THEY HAVE NOT SOLVED THE CASE IN 40 YEARS AND IT'S TIME THE CASE GOT A BREAK LIKE THIS.

  • @saveeducation The whole premise about not wanting his skunk euthenized is bogus. The FBI has no jurisdiction regarding pet skunks. That is a state and local issue. DB Cooper's crime falls under the aegis of the federal government. If this video was real, he could easily contact the FBI. They would find the alleged tree, and his pet skunk would be free to roam around with his camera while his broke leg heals. That video is a hoax my friend.

  • @saveeducation I'm willing to consider the possibility that Cooper faked the jump, waited on the stairwell and bailed out just as the plane was rolling to a stop on the runway at Reno. For one thing, no one ever saw him jump or his parachute deploy. Plus Cooper had tried (unsuccessfully) to get the flight crew to take off from Seattle with the stairwell already down, indicating that he may have intended to bail out from the plane on the dark taxiway at Seattle. Thoughts anyone?

  • I bet DB Cooper is 60 years old and watching this thinking "ha ha oh wow!"

    Good job DB Cooper

  • @Dailybabble LOL...if cooper is still alive he would be at least 80 years old....not 60

  • only Michael Scofield knows his real identity :P

  • D.B. Copper was of Latin Americain Descent so that cannot be him.

  • this guy is db cooper

    god for you old man

    fuck the system

  • i just hope the guy admits it on his death beds if he really is.

  • leave this old man alone.

  • he in oregon

  • Concprisracy? lol

  • i know where db cooper is

  • the government had something to do with this DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

  • The skyjacker died. FBI's latest evidence is that four parachutes were given to him and the ONE, a "dummy chute" was NOT left behind on the plane.

  • @liondoghound I don't think he made it either.....he jumps out of a jet at night with a business suit on. Some of the bills were found in the woods near a stream a few years ago

  • good for him, if he was smart enough to get away, and figure and plan all this out, he deserves the money. idk. this guy MIGHT be db cooper

  • I know for a fact who Dan is.

  • Sad to say D.B. Cooper's remains are in the form of Grizzly Bear, raccoon, and deer droppings.Let's just be conservative shall we1) He jumped wearing a simple man's business suit while experiencing freezing temperatures. 2) The wind chill factor was well below freezing due to the speed of the plane at which he jumped. 3) rainy weather and almost no visibility. 4) loss of orientation due to night jump.

The fact that he jumped with two defective parachutes makes the chances remote further.

  • Why didn't they show a picture of him from 1970s? If theres any resemblance wed see it.

  • ? ?

  • if no one got hurt, then good on the guy.

  • I wish they would start a new investigation I have been wondering for years if he made it

  • I know that the phone call 2 hours after the jump was suspicios but I dont think that he would have enough time to land and figure out where he is but who knows. However I do believe that he did survive the jump because the investigators did not find a body. Does anyone know if they found a parachute?

  • @DMW45 Yeah in 2007 i think the council near where his plane was flying Was over cementing a road and found remains of a parachuete... but the flight attendant chick said that it wasn't the same material.... The whole thing is wacky although i wouldn't be surprised if he was dead i mean if he was 40 then he would be like 80 pretty soon... But he could be alive, lol he sure is bad ass.

  • yea they found a parachute

  • See the book "The Real McCoy" written by a

former FBI agent and another cop. They say

    Richard McCoy was D.B.Cooper.

Sent to prison for another crime, he escaped

and was killed in a shoot out w/ the FBI.

    Tx 4 the interesting post.

  • He was 29 (DB mid 40's)and at Thanksgiving meal in Utah . No Way , he could have done that . At Best DB would have been in the woods for a couple days

  • Muhahahahah im te real dj vooper i had a special artifical wings when i jumped and lived. now i live in canada. i already spent all my money that i stole muhahahahahahahahhahahaahhahahahahahaha

  • guys i got news: i ate my 1st wopper today!!!

  • I hope that he is alive and one day he googles himself and just goes,

    "Wow."

    "I'm a badass."

  • @DecafLate I hope he hijacks google lol

  • @DecafLate He probably will do that while soaking his dentures in benzene. LOL

  • Roland smith wrote a book that mentions this

  • actually db cooper is still alive.. hes in a little island right now.. dancing with his little monkey!!!

  • no thats 2pac or elvis

  • i think the FBI shouldn't waste their time trying to catch cooper. why can't they catch bin laden instead? besides cooper didn't kill anybody.

  • He could do ads for 'Depends Adult Diapers" and use the moniker "PP Cooper".

  • Epic Win!

  • I was kind of thinking maybe "PP Pooper" would be even better :)

  • @WakeUpDummies i'm one upping you..pp pooper.. lol

  • @99camarosupersport

    Ha! Indeed.

  • if they do find db cooper what will they do to him??

  • Hump his leg really hard

  • Dan cooper was Bill Gossett. Look at the pictures! He died in 2003

  • I'd like to see pictures of Mayfield from 1971. These guys seem to be reaching, though. Of course what they suppose is possible, but not very plausible. The guy who was killed in a shootout with the FBI, a former Green Beret parachutist, looks to be the likely perpetrator. The fact that money was found indicates that he survived and burned it (partially). I feel like the guy survived but either died in a similar airline extortion/conviction/escape and shootout, or he died years later.

  • Lol... ''A man calling him D.B. Cooper'' He wrote Dan Cooper...

  • I like how if you view the "DB Cooper KOIN Segment", you see how much weight the investigators have gained.

  • it IS duane webber, not that guy.

  • These two 'investigators' (and I use that term loosely) have waaaaaaaay too much time om their hands.

  • You know it's legit, when Inside Edition takes grab of the story! haha

  • lol look at these two white trash "investigators" makes me laugh

  • everyone knows its duane webber

  • D.B.Cooper died in Fox River, didn't you see Prison Break (1st season).

  • Prison Break is one of the worst shows on television. Its for moronic lemmings who watch 'dancing with the stars' and 'are you smarter than a 5th grader'. Btw, how many fucking times can a person break out of prison. You people deserve to be hit of the head with a shovel.

  • Those investigators make a point to say that Teddy Mayfield's call to the FBI was after Dan Cooper had jumped out of the plane, and not while he was on the plane.

Well, why would he call with Dan Cooper on the plane - his skydiving background would only be a factor in the investigation AFTER Cooper jumped out of the plane, and only AFTER that was reported.

  • I am D.B Cooper.

  • Liar! I'M the REAL DB Cooper.

  • Inside Edition is the worst investigative show ever.

  • I hope he is still alive. LONG LIVE D.B COOPER

  • the money probably got buried by His Mum Who was waiting at home for him the night of the hijacking to make his dinner and tuck him in at night and read him a bedtime story.

  • hahaha!! lmao

  • I thought he jumped under 10,000ft. He told the pilot to fly the plane low.... The guy probably died.

This old man doesn't even look remotely like him.

  • well he deserves to live from being such a badass james bond character

  • I will never tell who he really is

  • Here's my take on what happened: D.B. survived the jump that night but landed in a lake. The wet money would have dragged him under so he had to let it go to save himself from drowning. About one year later he tried to do that very same jump again, this time in Utah. The actions he took were exactly like D.B. a year before. He was caught because a friend of his ratted him out to the FBI. His name was Richard McCoy, and a book was written about him titled: "D.B. Cooper: The Real McCoy."

  • Just a question, I dont know much about this case. But, the fbi says he called 2 hours after cooper jumped. Of course he called 2 hours after cooper had jumped.. how else could he know the fbi would be looking for a skydiver?

  • I do believe that D.B. Cooper died. That was a bad weather when he jumped out. They found the chute a few months ago. And the money back in 1981. But I think he died.

  • They found 290 out of 10000 $20 notes. If they had found *the* money, then what would be it and the case would be over.

Plus the chute they found was not his as reported by the FBI. They said they were 100% positive.

I'm not saying he survived the jump or anything, but who the hell knows. A fascinating story anyway, that's for sure.

  • Its possible to go to the moon but not survive a jump in bad weather? Bigger wonders has happend than a man survives a jump in bad weather.

  • if he died how did the $6000 get buried? who buried that money? ,if he died in the fall( how did part of the money get to where it was discovered ??that makes me think he must have survived the fall anyway hes a legend!!

  • Time? the money wasn't buried it was decomposing along a river bank.

  • right!! so why was a separate bundle of 6 grand found ..why didnt they find all the money and him with it for that matter if he died in the fall,

  • Why hasn't a single bill of it been spent then?

  • He easily could've left the country... I think the only firm involved (outside of the US) was Scotland Yard - US money would've been all-good anywhere else. He also might've left some of the money behind to perpetuate his "death"; the guy seemed clever-enough.

  • Think about it though, that money would easily of made it back to the US by now.

  • Yeah - that is - if what I stated is correct, which, I doubt. I was just playing the Devil's Advocate. If you ask me he and Richard McCoy are most-likely one in the same. He probably hid most of the money away and when he (Richard McCoy/D.B. Cooper) was killed he hadn't spent any.

  • I think the ultimate solution to this is time travel, he went back in time with the money and spent the bills before they were stolen!

  • You really do not know much, do you?

  • For the love of God. Another conspiracy theory? Please say it isn't so!

  • Well done you douchebag.

If he put it into an account and then took the money back out, the money would have gone back into the system.

  • he survuved

  • He doesn't have the right facial structure, even remotely. In all likely-hood, Cooper is dead. I would like to think not, since D.B. Cooper would have been the kind of guy I'd like to have a beer with, but given the terrain and weather of the massive, square millage that he "supposedly" landed in, his chances of survival are weak. I truly believe that if he is alive, its because he probably departed the plane with the rest of the passengers in Reno, where it landed. Which, is more brilliant.

  • Out of all american mystery and folklore this one quite purtubes me-:0 I dont know y? it's not that scarry or horrorfying; it's just shrouded in so much mystery that it becomes a GREAT unloved mystery like the Kennedy assasination dare I say. It gives us that unsettlling feel of where was "BIG BROTHER" I cant believe he did that" and that he GOT a way w/it. Or it could B that Unsolved Mysteries theme music(home alone):O -digress- 9/11 U didnt c 1 great mystrys of r time hav invlvd lac security??

  • What's even more fascinating is that evidence points to D B Cooper being one of the marksmen who participated in the assassination of JFK.

  • DB Cooper is nuts lol. He done the ultimate crime. He lived a free fall for 10k foot. How did he not die is weird. There should of been no oxigen. The legendry DB Cooper

  • What on earth are you talking about no oxygen? Ever wonder how skydivers jump from 15000ft every single day. I guess the parachute might have something to do with him possibly not dying. No weird, if you think about it.

  • Oxygen only starts to get critically thin at 15,000 feet for skydivers, & airplane crew in unpressurized airplanes. Skyvivers are required to wear oxygen masks above 15,000. Jumping at 10,000 feet occurs daily in sport skydiving, oxygen is not a problem at that height.

  • D.B COoper is LEGEND..ROlemodel..he commited a PERFECT CRIME..

  • Cooper left his tie on the plane and years later the FBI did get a DNA profile from that tie. If this guy were Dan Cooper then the FBI would have matched his DNA. Nice coincidence though, and perhaps this guy was an accomplice. Great story though! It's so much fun reading about this.

  • they haven't checked this guy's dna.

  • maybe this is just a maybe, the old men is db cooper because look at how he talks looks like panic and chuckles...

  • i say its cooper i mean coming on...sky diving for 40 years...if u subtract the year that past from the hijack and his age (which idk) and u get a young age then he could be DB cooper

  • Why don't they show a photo of what this pilot/skydiver looked like in 1971?

  • Oh, please! Not even close!

  • Please review the Unsolved Mysteries Cooper episode on this site. If you watch it you'll see the Flight Attendant redo the sketch with an artist. Compare that sketch to a 71-74 picture of Mayfield.

  • if u all look at the drawing and the old man they look alike if u take away the wrinkles an a few years of weight an dark young hair they look so much alike

  • he is db cooper

  • "I don't think I'm smart enough to do the planning that this guy did" .. is that really him patting himself on the back?

  • 34 - 40 when he's flying ha looks like kaku from one piece

  • why dont they take a DNA sample like they did to Weber when they proved that he really wasnt.

  • They'd have to have DNA from Cooper to see if it was a match. Not sure, but I don't think they know who Cooper actually was (I think it was a fake name?), so I guess they'd have nothing to compare it to.

  • on a site i read that he left his hat behind on the plane and they found DNA from him through the hair in his hat.

  • I saw thte article on Duane Weber. He did indeed make a deathbed claim that he was DB Cooper. But I have to say, this Mayfield fella looks a lot like DB to me. The shape of his nose and mouth compared to the drawings--very similar. And if what the documentary guys said is true--about him being destitute, then having a 36 acre ranch with a runway--well, that is something to consider, isn't it?

Great story, though. I've always enjoyed reading about it.

  • Yes, and I will also be making a deathbed confession that I am DB Cooper, big deal!

  • this sounds too good to be true...that guy looks like d.b.cooper...when he smerks at the end and says I am not db cooper...he's not lying...db cooper never existed he's mayfield now

  • Great job guys!

  • creepy

  • this isn't the guy they found the real one, his name was duane webber or something like that, he admitted to be D.B. Cooper on his death bed. Google it

  • DNA Recovered from his tie excludes Duane Weber....Still looking for him I guess

  • 200,000 - 6,000 is still a lot of tax-free money. it was well-planned. a busy pre-amer.holiday night. brilliant.

  • His mouth looks the same as the sketch

  • George Bush did it

  • Osama bin Ladin is D.B. Cooper

Find the plastic surgeon who did the transformation!

  • those guys got something going there

  • today is the anaverary damnit i cant speeel

  • they now have dna evidence off D.B Cooper's neck tie which has eliminated all suspects.

  • check your facts before you spew. only weber and possibly mccoy have been eliminated by dna so far.

  • right and not one of the other suspects matches cooper's description

  • do you have a point?

  • damn, I love this shit, I wonder if hes still alive?

  • Interesting: These guys are cool. Too bad they didn't work the case

  • search D.B. Cooper click on Wikipedia VERY HELPFUL

  • why havent they done an age progression sketch to compare.. but they do share facial similarities..

  • this man is now the number one suspect on wikipedia article about db cooper. just google db cooper.
