Had I were doing this, I'd pick RIFFS that exhibited virtuosity, brutality, aggression, which is what Death metal means to me. I can't believe that Suffocation, Gorgasm, Dying Fetus, and many others aren't listed.

@cthep +1, and beyond this, i got the feeling it's quite impossible to summarize the best of death metal in 10 examples anyway, even if carefully selected, without being unfair to someone. There are more than 10 bands that wrote history of this music. The only relevant detail in this video is Chuck appears twice where others are only mentioned one time, but that's all a personal opinion :)
