I believe that. LOL Totally differant story... Didnt mean to be a y tube dick. Look for those tapes... I wanna see... That a nice 60 ft for the mods...
OK... Everyone must realize that the vehicle has impeccable traction to raise the vehicle's front tires so far off the ground during his launch. Two factors to prevent this is to even out the weight distribution and / or the installation of wheelie bars. The latter of the two would be the most logical approach. Therefore, the loss of rear wheel traction would not allow the front end to raise up so far... It's called common sense!
hey i never owned a rear wheel drive car before. i just got a camaro. how to you keep the wheels from spinning when im trying to punch it from a dead stop.
You have to ease the throttle. A little wheelspin is unavoidable, even preferable. To get this, rev the car to 3-3.5K before dumping the clutch, then slowly apply throttle. That's if its stock. If anythings been done to the car, you'll have to test it yourself. The obvious way to stop wheelspin is to get better tires. Don't. Wheelspin means that your engine won't bog down, and you won't break your drivetrain from the stress of the launch. Get better tires once everything else is built up.
feather it...dont jam the throttle wide open jus gas n lift a couple times till you feel the wheels hook. a good 8-10 burnount prior to launch will help as well
Depends. My technique for hooking is full suspension, removed from sway bar for better weight transfer, and drag radials (yes on the street.) If you have an aftermarket stall converter, might try flash stalling it (stomp the gas off idle, instead of holding rpms up before launch.) Good luck.
holy shit man did the car flip over or land back on its wheels and whats under the hood of that thing, seeing this makes me sad casue my 94 lt1 blew up two days ago
The converter flashes to right at 5100 rpm, but is pretty tight feeling around town. It works very well with our combo. It's gone 1.29 60fts and it's a pump gas all motor car. It weighed right at 3425# at the time of the video. The front is tightened up now :)
@THFH69 Sorry for such a late Comment i know it 3 years old but, 1.29 60ft Isn't all that great if you run 9's I used have a 2000 SS Iboc Springs, 3200 Vigilante stall, Custom Built Air intake, Magnaflow Bullets Straight Pipes, and ram air nad my 60 ft was 1.29 crazy yes?
@Twinblackstripes or no i'm sorry lol now i look back i meant to type 1.99(really 2 seconds) Used to call me sling shot because off the line i was as fast as a ten second car. all the Videos of it were sadly taped by my brother who never ended up giveing me those tapes so i have no idea were they are. I think i got the Special SS out of the box, you know sometimes you may not get the one built 100% correctly.
I can't think of anyone that hooks like that car does. Can't wait to see you guys at the track again...Nice work James...

Love it. Who needs wheelie bars when you have a bumper. Of course oil pans and headers get expensive...

@MarineCore48154 in the description it says he has a STALL CONVERTER, theres a good chance its a automatic, and i think he gave it plenty of gas

What are some of the specs on that car? I'm guessing the converter stalls somewhere around 5 grand.
