  • lovely : ) can't stop watching

  • brilliant - John Lennon loved this cover

  • When was this TV broadcast?

  • pichi

  • @kuelap11 You can't spell and you're wrong!

  • this is adorable! i love both the beatles and the bee gees very much :)

  • Gay

  • Its even hard to pick my cousin from his earlier stills, but with in flash i recognized three . That is BEE GEES. Robin you looks cute.

  • Oh Wow this is great. I can reconize Barry, but Robin and Mauice, Hmmm, Robin still kinda looks the same but I would have never reconized Maurice!

  • This is adorable. Considering how you the twins age, they all sounded pretty great. I love watching their early stuff to see how they started out. This is great, it just shows how much the beatles have inspired them.

  • Wow they are so young here. Don't even recognize them.

  • Great job fellas

  • just a couple of kids trying to emulate there idols....cool.they would go on to have 5 songs in the top ten just like the 4 boys who came before them.

  • @beatlestoneful like 5 in each decade...

  • Dosen't it suck that one of the little kids (Maurice) died in 2003, and the other (Robin) is battling liver cancer?

  • Does anyone notice the very end at 2:07??? Hilarious!!!!

  • @Stits990 Wow. I wonder if they staged that or if it was a genuine accident? (And the abrupt splice just makes it funnier!)

  • @doncorthier They always did things like that... they were quirky and mischievous, that was their edge, at a time when most acts on australian bandstand were conservative and eager to please. Bee Gees were Australia's version to the Beatles for a little while.

  • haha lol!! in the end!!

  • I love both versions equally. I love that The Bee Gees were inspired by the Beatles. I love the way they sang this. :D

  • Gawd! That blows!

  • what a loser..hates them so he watches them?

    Rooming house anger shows through!

  • @shaftsbury94 Thats cool. Dont have to watch!!

  • @shaftsbury94 Jerk! No one is forcing you to watch Barry, Robin and the late Maurice. I love them!

  • @shaftsbury94 Dont watch it then, just get a life!

  • @shaftsbury94 Yeah if you dont like it don't watch it. uh. THIS IS EFFING GREAT!

  • @shaftsbury94 Why go to their videos then?

  • @shaftsbury94 Well, maybe you don't know that they had hits in the 60's, 70's, 80's 90's and 2000+ and the Beatles did not. Also Barry Gibb wrote 5 consecutive number one hits and suprassed Lennon and McCartney. Plus their harmonies are better. I am not taking away anything from the Beaatles and still consider them the best rock band ever. But to say you hate the Bee Gees is like me saying I hate the Beatles. You got to love them. The number of records sold tells the truth.

  • @shaftsbury94 How deep is your hate? Are you offended by their fame during the disco years? Get a life, man, 'cause The Bee Gees are flippin' awesome in music.

  • That version would make a kangaroo move to South Africa.

  • OK, Now, I think some youtubers should rehearse this together and appear on X-factor - see what Simon Cowell thinks, clue. XXX

  • 2:07 XD

  • hahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaaaahahahaha

i can recognize them all hahahahahahaha

  • WTF...awful, and them teeth lol

  • Wowww.... a memorable file, fantastic!! ;-)

  • Holy shit, the bee gees !! haha hoohoo someone stop me!

  • wow

  • I'm pressing charges for the murder of a Beatles song

  • @JerichoDitch2 Just like the Beatles were accused of murdering the top notes and isley brothers for twist and shout.

  • @JerichoDitch2 The beatles should be sued for murdering please mr postman and twist and shout! I believe the Beatles were the most over rated group of the 60's!

HOWEVER......that being said MANY groups did cover versions at the same time back than. There could be 3-4 versions of one hit song on the charts at the same time. No big deal.

  • I think they were too young to grasp the deeper meaning of the song! At least I HOPE they were too young. That's a dirty song. Dirty dirty dirty! ;)

  • THEY R SO CUTE

  • What a bunch of Twerps.

  • Well, I will cut them some slack. There were a lot of bands that did cover versions back in the 1960s. The Standells did a version of I wanna hold your hand that was pretty bad on the The Munsters

  • @efrem1 I remember that episode....didn't realize it was the Standells, lol.

  • pretty...bad :))

  • is this the original please please me if it is WOW

  • @ITSALLABOUTHEBEATLES No the Beatles' version is the original. But the Bee Gees brought it to Australia via our version of Bandstand.

  • @ilsy74 oh ok

  • The Boys used to visit the Dentist at the same time. The 3 of them would sit in the Dental chair, where the Dentist would switch his light on, only to be confronted with a 'Mass of Chew Sets' Boom Boom !!

  • @gazzymodo ouch...

  • @fashistputin 1963

  • @ilsy74

    Thanks!

  • This is amazing. Thanks for posting !!

  • Wow what a historically special piece of video The Bee Gees before they were great singing a song by the greatest of them all before they were great.

  • @Appleholic1 Thanks 4 appreciating. This video is indeed b4 the Beatles and the Bee Gees became great. So enjoy. I love them both.

  • Fantastic! I luv that I can watch something this special this many years later. Who knew!!?

  • At the end they run into each other LOL!!

  • OMG hahah!!! nice!

  • @TheDiddlysquat Bee Gees were a Novelty Children's act in those days. Australian tv was low budget, and aimed at older audiences... this is the result... Love it or loathe it it is a patr of history, and Britney Spears Lady Gaga and Beyonce all owe an enourmous load of grattitude to the guys who made R&B respectable.

  • What. Is this.

    Seriously who are the

    beegees?

  • @AbbyMarie87 Bee Gees are responsible for Saturday Night fever soundtrack, which put them on the map of one of the greatest song writers, having 5 songs in Billboard Top 10 at the same time. There is some suggestion that they gave the Beatles a good run for their money as they had released songs that were as well crafted in the late 60s.

  • @ilsy74 Thank you for informing me that was all, I was just a bit confused, thanks for clearing it up!

  • @AbbyMarie87 no worries. Tell us what you think of the Bee Gees. Always interested to know!

  • Talk about hitting the ground running. Baby Beegees indeed. I loved it. The Beatles did too I'm sure.

  • wow they are really good

  • What a moment in time!...I remember in the 70's (yes.. 70's!!) when Oz TV shows used a local act to cover foreign #1s because we didn't have the technology to get the videos. So, the BeeGees doing the Beatles in 1963 would have been welcomed, not scorned!

  • I guess they only liked there early stuff. I recall Maurice calling "Strawberry Field for ever" a bunch of nonsense.

  • @mysterymac38 The Beatles and the Bee Gees are both amazing... why compare? Although it has to be said that the Beatles brought the best out in everyone, including the Bee Gees. And when you are as big as them, you can do what you like. I always thought New York Mining Disaster is rubbish.

  • @mysterymac38 have u seen Sgt Pepper? Bee Gees were Beatles fan period. Gr8 movie by the way.

  • Baby BeeGees.Adorbs.

  • pathetic

  • hahahahaha lol last part XD

  • Is Youtube some sort of contest so everyone can vote as to who does a song better? If only one group played a song because people like their version better - they wouldn't be making money off song royalties and there would be no cover bands performing for us in the areas that the big groups don't travel. Sheesh - OF COURSE most of us like the Beatles versions of their songs best - but other versions are valid too.... and this is pretty cute!

  • An excellent piece of musical history! Well done!

  • @JewForJesusAlways YOu truly know nothing about these artists. Why do you post? Just to get your name out???

  • @ilsy74

I'm Saying The Beatles Did Better, If You Needed Me To 2nd Grade-ize it.

  • Never could get the exit right...or was that left?

  • I recall watching the Bee Gees when they first appeared on TV in Australia. Don't judge them by todays standards of hi-tech electronics. They relied on harmonies and raw talent and at the time they quickly became a stand-out act. There was no doubt they were going places and that they did.

  • good job clive anderson never saw this.

  • Oh my god Robin and Maurice were so cute back then. They sure caught up to Barry in height as they got older.

  • Nothing can compare to the beatles version. this is without any feeling - there is no energy of fab four. but ... pretty

  • @8121980Music THere is 3 of them!!!! lol.... bit seriously. If one band has full icense to copy Beatles songs, it is the Bee Gees. They have proven it, with Sgt Pepper's lonely Hearts Club band, they did a wonderful job, worked with George Martin, and respected the spirit of the originals. Remember that in the 70s young ppl did not know that Paul Mccartney was in a band b4 wings. ha

  • @8121980Music The Beatles have this youth vibrancy. The Bee Gees do the song differently - with childish cheek and comedy. Thats the kind of act their management and the industry wanted from them. They were natural at it. They had a lot of fun. That's who they were, and they did a good job.

  • The brother on the left looks like Timy from South Park.

  • @benthemiester He still does.

  • LOL, the end. Maurice was even funny when he wasn't intending to be. LOL

  • @themillenia It WAS intended to be;-) according to Maurice in the docu,"this is where I came in"they played in clubs like the club in Crocodile dundee, for adulds so they always added some unexpected funny stuff in their act. Like Robin,s tie going up during a serious song, (he had a string on it) Later on they still made fun on stage, espec Maurice;-) Sometimes Barry had to look the other way not to laugh during singing. They,re clowns;-) Try" in the morning " black/white version, very funny;-)

  • What a great video! :D and the end made me laugh too XD lol

  • BUENO, LOS BEATLES SE HUBIERAN VISTO QUIZÁ IGUAL DE RIDÍCULOS A ESA EDAD CANTANDO. QUÉ GRACIOSO.

  • funnnnnnnny

    funnnnnnnny

    funnnnnnnny

  • hahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha

  • Back when Donald Trumps hair was popular

  • Holy SHIT! I had no idea they were this young when they started. Trippy ...kinda freaky.

  • hahahahahahah! 2:07

  • Hahaha what happend at the last second? XD hahahahaha

  • @TheDiddlysquat haha Poor Maurice XD...i think it is maurice

  • Somebody needs to punch these guys in the groin.

  • this song belongs to only one group the beatles as its there song

  • They fucked that shit up

  • NO WAY! I never knew they started singing this young!

  • This is too freaking cute! Who'd think they'd be big stars of their own right in the late 60's and all of the 70's.... I love their "Melody" soundtrack stuff! Very touching stuff!

  • @TheDiddlysquat I cant believe this question which comes up often. Yes it was 100% deliberate. Live television. 100% talent. No auto tunes, CGI, miming, pre-recording, vocal synthesization, multi-takes.... The Bee Gees were classed as a Novelty Act, and would do and say all sorts of goofy things when they performed. Remember that they shared their dressing rooms with strippers and were playing to older audiences. This is the kind of Vaudeville performance expected from kids in Australia ..

  • did they cover the beetles? or did the beetles cover bee gees? or did they both steal this music off of someone else that i have to find???

  • @xShiZukAx88 The Bee Gee's did a cover of this Beatles song, the song was a Lennon/McCartney original on their first album titled "Please Please Me" after the song

  • Bet barry was glad the other two got taller..but man, talk about dental issues..and bryl-creem..so funny watching robin with the 'come to papa' manuever..go, tiger ! ; )

  • ¡¡Ellos Están bien jóvenes!! Gracias por compartir este video. Felicidades.

  • Going by the height of the twins, this was most likely from '63, right at the time The Beatles originally hit with it in England. Many today aren't aware of their pre-disco years, let alone that they were an act long before the 1967 release of "New York Mining Disaster-1941".

  • To Ilsy74: My comment related to the young twins' appearance only, and was meant light-heartedly. I am a big fan of the Bee Gees from all stages of their career, but they didn't change the world like the Beatles did. They may have written more worldwide SINGLES hits than the Beatles (who recorded for only 7 years, after all) but I doubt it. And if we throw in the ex-Beatles' solo hits, then they're miles behind. I don't want to diss the brothers Gibb, because they DID write some brilliant songs.

  • @gazzo45 Cool... thanks for clarifying. Cos rats is not a nice term, so i wasnt sure what you meant. But yeah, it all comes down to taste. I love the Beatles. But if u take stats, it does not say a lot. cos tastes change any way, so in 100 years Bee Gees may appear miles ahead. BUt I will give the Beatles that much - they did change the world of music.

  • This is hilarious. The young Robin and Maurice look like a pair of singing rats!

  • They were so young and cute! Everyone starts somewhere in their musical journey.

  • check out the hampsteads on these geezers!

they should have been called "the gee gees"

  • search for" BeeGees sing Beatles "on tube, they coverd some Beatle tracks as grown man, very good

  • not as good as beatles

  • @thedrummerdude1000 The Bee Gees best Beatles covers are in the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band movie. May you would like it?

  • LOL @ 2:07.

  • Comment removed

  • aww they look soo young its adorable and lol maurice bumps with barry.!lol.=p

  • the brothers gibb just escaped the kangaroo farm

  • sad because the little one on the right, maurice gibb, is no longer with us, he succumbed to cancer in 2003

  • the beatles version is WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY BETTER

  • @daredfoxchick889 and this where boys then ;-) not men like the Beatles ;-) So it,s a good job, period!

  • tienes razon pero los beatles eran buenos en su tiempo pero los bee gees se pulieron con el tiempo y hasta los muchachos de ahora oyen un tema de los bee gees y les gusta ...no pasan de moda nunca

  • simplemente MARAVILLOSOS!!!

  • Beatles or BeeGees, they where in a legue of their own apples and peares and later in live even became friends.

  • Robin, Barry,Maurice, so rare, so precious. thanks for posting that!

  • Note that Barry does not attempt Paul's high notes. How ironic, since he would later become famous as a falsetto singer!

  • He's only 3 years older than they, but he looks at least 5 years older!

  • Aww, little Mo and Robin. Barry was already so tall! This is cute, thanks for posting!

  • take no notice of the rude comments here. Bee Gees are great! Only a fken deaf moron would say otherwise.

  • 2:08 Ouch...hahaha :)

  • Oh my gosh! Too cute.

  • Wow. Just wow. Thanks for posting.

  • jejejej 2:07 poor bee gees

  • the bee gees hohohohohohohohohohohohoh

  • @briansito100 Yes laugh all u like, they were just as good as te beatles, who I also love.

  • @ilsy74 hahha i love them

  • @ilsy74 Beatles manager agrees;-)

  • Now now children, lets not forget that later on, the beegee's created a whole new music genre.

    Disco/Funk.

  • kkkkkkkkkk very nice! kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk at the last second ... wow !!

  • quel talent !

  • wow, thanks so much for that

it's such a pleasure to see them so young

    wonderful

  • SOOO CUTE. LOVE IT. VINTAGE MAN VINTAGE

  • talent

  • AWW! They're so young!

  • lol... they walk into each other in the end...

  • Indrøm det - de har haft dét hele vejen!

  • this is nice

  • LOL at the mouth breather at 0:11 !

  • @itsme111478 I promise to give you $10,000 if you can prove he was breathing through his mouth.

His mouth being open is not proof because I typed this comment breathing through my nose while my mouth was open.

  • @sotomayor1988 thats what i thought for a while... But Beatles are beautiful too, mystical, and very much of our time - even 50 years on. Thanks to them Rock n Roll and rebellion against the mundane is still a theme we can all relate to. Otherwise R'n'R would have been dead. You needed intelligent artists in touch with their heart to keep youth culture alive & relevant for all time. That was the Beatles. The Bee Gees kept on that quality of Beatles music in to the remainder of the century.

  • @ilsy74

Wise words ilsy,The Beatles are and always will be an incalculable force on Popular Music.

  • @sotomayor1988

Really not even worth an answer...Beatles re invented popular music in a way it will never be done again. This sounds souless man, listen to the beatles and shut up.

  • @fpetrozz The Beatles have invented all you want but the truth is that the bee gees sing better than the music of the Beatles is like never varies is the same sound

  • @sotomayor1988 the bee gess are nowadays known for being a dico band

  • @sotomayor1988 well i not think so,all have diferent likes, and if the beeges are better than beatles do you think they would made covers of beatles?

  • I doubt Lennon's assessment that the Bee Gees would have been suitable to stand in an area where there was a void if the Beatles were absent. Perhaps the Who were equipped to do so? Lest we forget- longevity in of itself isn't an indication of "greatness."

  • @541967 yes but you are not indicating any argument that puts forth why the Bee Gees were not close to the Beatles genius. It boils down to taste. I was just giving you some facts in terms of what their legacy. Few match. Certainly in today's world of music commerce.

  • @541967 The Who are great. But the Bee Gees hits are more consistent, over time and over countries in the world. They wrote about 40 number ones around the world (for themselves and other artists). The Who's legacy is in punk attitude and pub rock... thats great too. As I said it boils down to taste.

  • @541967 not for nothing but the bee gees are better than the beatles have a better catalog over the years plus live sing better thing that the Beatles were bad singing live

  • @sotomayor1988 Bullshit.

  • @sotomayor1988 How can one assess the Beatles live performances when they couldn't themselves? The girls were yelling so loud that not even the Beatles could hear themselves.

  • I almost hate to say as much but although the Bee Gees aspired to be like the Beatles- they had more in common with the Osmonds!

  • @541967 YOu are certainly entitled to that opinion. It certainly is not an insult in any way. But I feel it is a tad misinformed. The BGs wrote ALL their own songs, in every period. They influenced pop culture by contributing to Blue-Eyed Soul in the 60s and popularizing disco in the 70s. John Lennon said they could have taken the Beatles place. They went beyond the Beatles because they continued on until 2001 changing with the times right throughout.

  • take THAT silly boy bands! The BeeGees were friggin AMAZING

  • but barry voices seems contrast with maurice and robin

  • they really so young...RIP mo

  • What the hell was that at the end? Was that intended? LOL

  • @maxpowers518 Yes indeed!

  • @maxpowers518 It was on purpose; part of the BeeGees charm at that time. Comedic talent!
