Hustle was and will always be a dance of grace and style by far. I grew up in downtown Brooklyn, and you danced what the babes liked. Back then, it was the hustle, salsa, and free style, and in that order, end of story.

I watch this vid with the sound muted, while playing Donna Summer's "Try Me" (long version put here on Utube by richardjames111) "sic" at 534+ "I know, I know we can make it..." The choreograph of these two dancing, coupled with the above mentioned tune, (or playing any other disco hit of my 70's) shows how great this dance truly was. I was 17yrs at the time; I am now 52 and recall those times of disco dancing to be the BEST years of my life! Diane (above), you are HOT on heals. Disco Forever!

Yes Dianne is a Ballroom dance teacher too. I think that this routine was entirely lead follow. One of the few people I could really dance Hustle (& loads of other dances too) with when she was living in London.

This is REAL hustle, like back in the day. Not the corny ballroomed-up crap you see in some of these competitions. This couple would have been right at home back in NYC in the '70s.

very nice execution of this slow hustle routine; attention to details really come thru, enjoyment and connection between and to the viewers are all essence of any dance; only suggestion: with a bright yellow shirt for the guy, a bright color dress for the lady might work better than black...

Nice Hustle dancing! it looks like a contest, so... I would say they practiced this routine, but everything is leadable and followable so it could happened spontaneously between two creative and passionate hustle dancers in any social environment.

beautiful dancing, intense interplay between the two dancers.  Is this choreography or lead and follow? looks like a combination of both with a lot of cute and funny responses between them - not planned like a routine. looks ballroom influenced to me. the girl looks like a ballroom dancer but funky too.
