The B-52 Pilot had been disaplened 2 times in the past for flying too low. Same thing here he got the bank angel too high and was too low to recover. Really sad part is he did not just kill himself but also his crew. Just think what the view out of the cockpit must have been like. I hope I never see the ground out of my windows that way.

To be fair, with the exception of the combat scenes, there are very few pilot deaths. In fact 4.40 onwards is actually a deliberate crash to test a 'non-explosive' jet fuel.... so that would be 'back to the board' for that idea.

When the B-52 crashed, the pilots wife and kid were watching him because he was demonstrating thet airport was safe fo takeoff and landings despite a big hill at the runway. At least I think it's that. I got it from TV. Anyone else seen it or can confirm it?

The B-52 pilot was very popular but reckless. There were several instances of him breaking rules before this tragedy. Because of his bad record another pilot volunteered to be co pilot in this display to protect the other crew and spectators. Nevertheless on the practice run the reckless pilot pushed the plane too far.

B-52 pilot did push the limits. There are ejection seats in the B-52. On better tapes you can see two crewmembers acutally eject right about the time they hit the powerlines. Too late. Last words from the co-pilot were "you just killed us"  The 707 was deliberately crashed to test a new fuel. The hope was that it wouldn't burn as easily. The test was obviously a failure.

There's no plane launched from a sub, it's a video of a missile, pay close attention, there's some art work with the smoke. The imago of the plane is casted over that of the missile. Besides, its exhaust is from a rocket, not even a jet on afterburner.
