I loved it in the movie where Grima Wormtongue says, "But that would take thousands!" then Saruman says "Tens of thousands." And then Grima says "But my lord, there is no such force!" and then he sees the army.
smeagol, this is another master piece you have made. Do you use only one program to make these movies? Or do you use multiple programs? anyway awesome movie. I really liked the white "hand" on the flags!
that was one of the most awesome videos i have ever seen before in my life!!!!!!!!!! It looked awesome but at the same time a little wrong like in the picture but i still loved it
Cool video Smeagol, I love the white hand of Saruman on the flags. It's really great C.G.I. with wonderful lighting but that's also my only complaint. I just don't understand the idea of doing a brickfilm in C.G.I. I guess I'm a purist. :) Regardless though, this was very cool!
Thanks. I'm not a fan of entirely CG brickfilms myself, so I used as much in-camera footage in this as I could in the closeups. Unfortunately, I don't think I could have shot an army with thousands of minifigs in camera, though.
You're right about the difficulty of shooting a thousand minifigs but can you imagine how that would look? Part of me really wants to attempt something like that. Not necessarily an army sequence, just something massive in scope. Giant sets, the works.
Thanks, this was made a few years ago and I think I could do better in Carrara now, it is a pretty powerful program, particularly for rendering purposes. You really should check out bricksinmotion . com if you haven't already, there is a sizeable online community of "brickfilmers" there.
Hehe, a lot of this one is computer animation as well. But feel free to check out my website (in the profile) as I have written a few guides and tutorials.

Haha you get money for a video, which countains sound, which is not even yours, how is that?

@lmaccp I don't get money from this video. Youtube users are only allowed to generate revenue from videos they own the copyright to.

did you actually build the towers, every thing else other than the tower and the caracters looks like computer animation
gadalia10 2 years ago 8
Everything in the wide shot, including the towers, is computer generated. The closeups are sort of a combination of real and cg.
