9)....to the crew and the Rescue Boat team, my most respectful salute to your deed. it's not everyday that we were given that kind of chance, after all those endless trainings on shore and drills on board. the Almighty God will have His own way of repaying you for that kind of act.
to the whiners and critics, think properly before you make comments, ayaw pataka ug yawyaw kung wala gyud mo makatugkad sa lintunganay nga panghitabo kay magpa-ila lang mo sa pagkamabaw sa inyong paminsar.
8)...during that kind of situation, to become a hero would be the very last thing that we have in mind. it is about saving life, reaching out and helping others breath the better and proper way.
to receive accolades, commendations, honor, prizes or money is never on the agenda. it is about the feeling that you have given another person a chance to live another life even if we ourselves will risk our own life. it's human instinct and nature....
7)....it's to lighten up the situation and to boost morale on his team. don't expect him to cry with the survivors either.
he said "patay na, patay na" is not referring to persons but to the boat engine which has to be stopped to prevent the boat from moving further or the persons and debris to sucked into the propeller.
6.)....the boat is already overloaded in terms of the number of persons but probably not in weight as there are children. and that's the risk and sacrifice that the team leader has to take so that no one among the survivors feel abandoned; it's hard to imagine the feeling of being left behind floating on the water. about that "joke" he cracked at the end of the video, although there could have been more sympathetic words or phrase he should have used but it was not bad either.....
5)......the rescue boat of a cargo vessel is only small size, designed for 6 persons (4 crew & 2 persons to be rescued at most), and we don't normally bring blankets and extra clothing except in ice areas or countries where we wear thermal protective suit. this rescue boat is not designed to go very far from the mother vessel, after picking up survivors we immediately go back on board where warm blankets and hot soup are waiting, prepared by the First Aid Team......
4).....about the bringing of the camera on a rescue situation, then that's part of what he was doing, to document the events not for boasting about himself but for the world to see and witness. that's why Youtube is created, that's why they open a portion in tv news programs for "youscoopers" and citizen patrollers for eyewitnesses to have a chance to show what they got. he took the dual role of being the Rescue Team leader and a live reporter and he did both with high grades......
3).......being the Team Leader on that situation, don't expect him to be singing on a sweet, angelic voice. it's not about the accent or being a Bisaya. that is just the right, firm, commanding voice of a leader. if you're not used to being given commands or orders then you will never understand it. this is a real situation, not a movie where there is a director who can shout "cut" and shoot another scene......
2).........that person talking and holding the camera is the team leader, probably he is the 2nd or 3rd Officer. the one operating the engine is probably the 2nd Engr., hence the term he used to call is "Sec, Sec, Sec" when he gave orders to the engine. that's what we use to call a Second Officer or Engr.....

you have never been on a rescue boat, you have never been on board a cargo vessel, you have never been subjected under pressure or been on a life threatening situation. or you may not have seafarers in your family.
that boat is what we use on board to pick up persons (crew or anybody else) thrown overboard or floating on the water. every month we conduct drills or practice for that purpose and there is a team designated to man that boat.

@jingsoriano the team leader decided to continue the rescue cuz the victims were all small built & they're not heavy.the rescue boat capacity was only for 6 persons.4 rescuers+8 victims+extra equipments.it was overloaded in terms of nos. of persons but in weight capacity it was still permissible,otherwise it will put the lives of the rescuers & the victims in jeopardy.Tks...

sa mga nag sasabing yung ibang rescuer ay hambog kung mag salita, mali kayo! bisaya ako at alam ko yung dialect namin. ganyan talaga ang tono naming mga bisaya. pabagsak yung mga salita namin at medyo matitigas pakinggan. normal lang saming mga cebuano ang tono namin. at isa pa, mga seaman yang mga yan hindi yan mga trained rescuer na dumaan sa training o seminar kung pano mag handle nang mga biktima! batikos pa rin nang batikos kahit nag magandang loob na nga yung tao! crab talaga!

8)...during that kind of situation, to become a hero would be the very last thing that we have in mind. it is about saving life, reaching out and helping others breath the better and proper way.
to receive accolades, commendations, honor, prizes or money is never on the agenda. it is about the feeling that you have given another person a chance to live another life even if we ourselves will risk our own life. it's human instinct and nature....

7)....it's to lighten up the situation and to boost morale on his team. don't expect him to cry with the survivors either.
he said "patay na, patay na" is not referring to persons but to the boat engine which has to be stopped to prevent the boat from moving further or the persons and debris to sucked into the propeller.

6.)....the boat is already overloaded in terms of the number of persons but probably not in weight as there are children. and that's the risk and sacrifice that the team leader has to take so that no one among the survivors feel abandoned; it's hard to imagine the feeling of being left behind floating on the water. about that "joke" he cracked at the end of the video, although there could have been more sympathetic words or phrase he should have used but it was not bad either.....

5)......the rescue boat of a cargo vessel is only small size, designed for 6 persons (4 crew & 2 persons to be rescued at most), and we don't normally bring blankets and extra clothing except in ice areas or countries where we wear thermal protective suit. this rescue boat is not designed to go very far from the mother vessel, after picking up survivors we immediately go back on board where warm blankets and hot soup are waiting, prepared by the First Aid Team......

4).....about the bringing of the camera on a rescue situation, then that's part of what he was doing, to document the events not for boasting about himself but for the world to see and witness. that's why Youtube is created, that's why they open a portion in tv news programs for "youscoopers" and citizen patrollers for eyewitnesses to have a chance to show what they got. he took the dual role of being the Rescue Team leader and a live reporter and he did both with high grades......

3).......being the Team Leader on that situation, don't expect him to be singing on a sweet, angelic voice. it's not about the accent or being a Bisaya. that is just the right, firm, commanding voice of a leader. if you're not used to being given commands or orders then you will never understand it. this is a real situation, not a movie where there is a director who can shout "cut" and shoot another scene......

2).........that person talking and holding the camera is the team leader, probably he is the 2nd or 3rd Officer. the one operating the engine is probably the 2nd Engr., hence the term he used to call is "Sec, Sec, Sec" when he gave orders to the engine. that's what we use to call a Second Officer or Engr.....

you have never been on a rescue boat, you have never been on board a cargo vessel, you have never been subjected under pressure or been on a life threatening situation. or you may not have seafarers in your family.
that boat is what we use on board to pick up persons (crew or anybody else) thrown overboard or floating on the water. every month we conduct drills or practice for that purpose and there is a team designated to man that boat.

@jingsoriano the team leader decided to continue the rescue cuz the victims were all small built & they're not heavy.the rescue boat capacity was only for 6 persons.4 rescuers+8 victims+extra equipments.it was overloaded in terms of nos. of persons but in weight capacity it was still permissible,otherwise it will put the lives of the rescuers & the victims in jeopardy.Tks...

sa mga nag sasabing yung ibang rescuer ay hambog kung mag salita, mali kayo! bisaya ako at alam ko yung dialect namin. ganyan talaga ang tono naming mga bisaya. pabagsak yung mga salita namin at medyo matitigas pakinggan. normal lang saming mga cebuano ang tono namin. at isa pa, mga seaman yang mga yan hindi yan mga trained rescuer na dumaan sa training o seminar kung pano mag handle nang mga biktima! batikos pa rin nang batikos kahit nag magandang loob na nga yung tao! crab talaga!

@jedcares tama ka dyan!para sa akin hindi sila hambog,tama lng na haluan ng komedya para hwag magpanic lalo ang mga nirescue...yong iba kung ano2x napapansin imbis na pasalamatan at purihin sila sa kabayanihan na ginawa nila sa kapwa...lami pitlokon ning uban diri!makalagot!

@sbermar2 cguro nanjan din cla sa disaster area.. sa dami na dapat 2lungan. d lahat macocover nla.. kulang pa tayo sa SAR equipment..dapat tlaga mamodernize ang AFP!

kaluoy pod ug Pilipinas.....kapag may ganitong pangyayari nkakadurog ng puso kasi maraming taong gahaman sa material kaya maraming tao din ang pantubos sa pinsalang ginagawa sa INANG KALIKASAN....matagal pa naman bago makabangon dahil isa ang bansa natin sa mahihirap na bansa....IN TIMES LIKE THIS PRAYERS IS MOST POWERFUL TOOL....bangon Pilipinas.....HELP US....
