@davejoshmom1 my lg x140 netbook comes with this n450 atom processor and it just keeps on crashing down every time i run skype. I upgraded memory to 2 GB and skype still crashes if run after watching a lot of youtube videos. Only way to run skype is to restart and run it before any other applications. Atom N459 sucks

the netbook sucks dont buy this laptop even for an on the go. theres only 3 hours of battery life and the screen is so small you cant see anything.

@davejoshmom1 Why use a separate system for gaming if you have a PC that can do it all? As for video encoding, lets see how quick it will encode a 3 minute clip of Fraps video taken at 1920 x 1080. :P

@davejoshmom1 I say it's garbage (in my hands) because it cannot run fluently what I need it to (eg, Crysis, video encoding, VMs, HD video playback, etc). If all I wanted was word processing, then I wouldn't consider it as such. :P

Besides, my Core i5 dropped down to 1.1 GHz in power saver mode wipes the floor with any Atom, and 5 hours battery life from a 17 incher isn't something to scoff at. Though, I admit, full load on both the CPU and GPU cuts that life down to less than an hour.

i bought a netbook with n450 and i can tell you it suck balls, it cant run youtube in over 360p and its not my web connection and the best game it can play is cs 1.6 and it can just play rome total war aslong as i skip all the actual battles it sucks so much that it was actually a downgrade from a 5year old average desktop with intel single core celeron

@JoelB3783 well i love my netbook. it runs ubuntu great. i can do any word or excell or browse the web fith no problem. i can even play 720p video in vlc. the only place where it lacks in performence is in flash, other that that, you don't really need more power for your everyday basic computing tasks.

it supports better graphics. The n280 uses gma 950 and the n450 uses gma 3150. Which allows it to run 30% faster than any other single core atom cpu, and 10% faster than the dual core n330. I would recommend the d510 which is the newest dual core atom cpu which is 50% faster than any single core atom cpu and 25% faster than the atom n330. They both are very impressive.

They are both crap you should get an amd based system the battery will last just aslong of you dont run it at full speed. ans just use it as much as ytou would a itel atom. except the AMD has the legs in the event ytou do need a bit of extra power. The atom is absolute con job.
