If that is true, meaning that, if Elliott Smith's name is spelled with two T's, which appears to be the case, I may have 100's of files to rename. It's a daunting thought. I need to check it out,.....now. On the other hand, Elliott isn't even his real name. He changed it during his Dallas days because "Elliott" sounded less like a jock. He did play football for his high school though. He wouldn't give in to the culture, however, Texas played a big part in making Elliot(T) the man he was.

Well, Elliot Smith heard that a lot and would defend Celine Dion because she was really nice to him that night. I think that's all that really mattered to Elliot. Whenever I miss what I lost and want to remember what being in love and being loved unconditionally feels like momentarily I listen to this. It has been 3 years since I lost my best friend and I still lack the courage to call her or see her.

@pappyguy1 Music's not a competition, it's not foot ball. why cant they both be equally good just in different ways? why marginalize either of there music by categorizing it ? the Beatles weren't the world's greatest musicians, who said they were? they're known for song writing, same as Elliott, he wasn't the worlds greatest guitarist , and he wasn't trying to be. there are plenty of people who are technically better than Elliott. that doesn't change the way i feel about his music though.

elliott smith was an incredible talent and a musical genius: anyone SHOULD know that after listening to either THIS/or THAT or any of his albums...

pretty much everything he did is great, and it is an incredible shame that his talent went mostly unrecognized in his life.

you can talk about music and how it sounds...on top of all that, elliot smith spoke the truth. alot of songs, and alot of good songs, are not honest, but everything he spoke smacked of honesty, and it was beautiful,
