  • Hey!!!! e dov'è Puccini????

  • aah overture 1812, the most perfect piece in my humble opinion

  • Please tell me which part you took of the Bruckner Symphony No 4?

  • He died when he was only 31 years of age. In his very short life span he produced more heart wrenching music than any other composer, yet received no recognition. It is very sad to see him below Dvorak (who in fact absolutely idolised him) and not side by side with beethoven - where he belongs. The greatest love and sorrow indeed - and the greatest music. Still not recognised, how much longer will it take? Have so few people listened to the C major String Quintet and wept?

  • Bethoven is certainely number 1,,but i would vote for hopin to be number 3 after back and mozart number 5

  • @AmadeusMozart99 mozart is one of the best compuser in the history. His music is so beautiful, i like many piece of mozart ( requiem, piano concertos,...) but i prefer beethoven because his music has got more strength and passion.

  • please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    the first of liszt?

    the first of rachmaninov?

the first and second of chaikovski?

Beethoven, naturally the number 1, the best compuser ever!!!!!!

Chopin schould be the number 2 or 3. I love chopin´s music.

  • please, the first of liszt?????

  • @teresa2610

    Hungarian Rhapsody N°2 =)

  • what a travesty of a compilation of composers!! there is no contest as to who is the greatest and it is not beethoven.anyone who has listend to a variety of classical music knows that number 2 is number 1.

  • In the name of all that is good and holy, where is Joplin?

  • 1. Beethoven

    2.Bach

    3. Mozart

  • I like Vivaldi

  • I personally think Shostakovich, Haydn, and Bach should be higher on the list!

  • Does anybody know the names of the Bach selections?

  • The first two pieces are respectively the Gavotte and Gigue to His Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major BWV 1068, the last piece is the first movement to His Harpsichord Concerto No. 5 in F Minor BWV 1056. And indeed, Great Father Bach is waaaaaaaaay out of anybody's league. There's Him, then everybody else comes after.

  • And where is Puccini? P.S. I also like Beethoven than Mozart. I'm glad

  • I wouldn't say they are weird (wierd) - they may just happen to prefer Beethoven to Mozart...

  • There is something about Beethoven that appeals to the reach of human striving, a sort of "Faustian" personality! :-) Mozart much more personal, more delicate and, dare I say it...feminine, with all the good things that implies (elegant and capricious, cute and playful) in a way that Beethoven could not be. I don't think that makes one better than the other, it is such a blessing to get to hear the work of both of them, what an age that was, the human creative mind at the top of its game :-)

  • Haydn on 20, Mendelssohn on 10 and Chopin on 8??

    But it's cool, that Beethoven's 1st!!

  • Mozart!!!

  • BEETHOVEN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • some unexpected and interesting placements!

and omissions, too! no Stravinsky? no Prokofiev? and am I the only one that would include Gluck?

  • Strauss Wagner and Schuman sued be mutch higher on this list

  • your videos are amazing!!!!

i would have expected tchaikovsky to win. but what can you expect :(

and does anyone know the r. strauss pieces?

oh and thank you for putting rachmaninov's second piano concerto instead of his third!

  • When Tchaikovsky came up, what was the first piece played?? Anyone can tell me?

  • It's very strange that I see no Debussy. I just keep searching, and it doesn't come up. I think I could cry... :)

  • Bruckner was a Beethoven wannabe

  • what was the second last piece of music by Mozart? Anyone?

  • First movement from his 40th symphony.

  • i think Vivaldi would've come higher if more people knew about his sublime=) choral works

  • Clarkson: I love Vivaldi just from the Concertos I've heard. :)

  • Ah, yes - Vivaldi - "The same concerto 400 times."

  • I'll say this again. Why no Igor Stravinsky? He was more musically innovative, clever with orchestration, and rhythmically ahead of his time than anybody up there except Beethoven. And let's not forget that we cannot exclude 20th Century Music!

  • I agree !

    Stravinski ftw XD

  • First of all, thank you for this list. I appreciated watching it!

    Now the criticisms:

    1) Antonin Dvorak does not belong in a top 10, as he was a marginal symphonist whose greatest contribution was being one of the few to blend a German Romanticism with folk elements from South Central Europe and America. His chamber music was great, but not his symphonies.

    2) Igor Stravinsky does belong in a top 10, in fact probably up there at No. 4

3)Chopin so far ahead of the more clever Schumann? Nah

  • Dvorak must have been voted in from the US (NWSymphony) and Elgar from the UK. In my country, Elgar would not even be in the top 25.

  • I was thinking exactly the same thing when I saw Dvorak and Elgar's placements

  • Definitely agree with the top three! I love the music of all of these composers!

  • What is the second Schubert piece?

  • The second Schubert piece is the ninth symphony, one of my favourite symphonies ever!

  • I agree with Beethoven at #1 and am happy that Rachmaninoff got in.

  • Thank you ! This Idea is great !

  • Ludvig Beethoven was a good friend to Karl XIV Johan (Jean Baptiste Bernadotte) and Mendelsohn was good friend with Henric Munktell (my family).

    Ulf Sawert

  • If I had to decide...Vivaldi and Rachmaninov should have come among the 5 top!

    Ulf Sawert

  • Really, really great video!! But why...isn´t Franz Berwald and Joseph Martin Kraus (the two greatest composers ever in Sweden) in the competition? By the way...Daniel...have you heard my classical composition: "Thats Life"?

    Ulf Sawert. Sweden

  • MENDELSSOHN? I always thought he was so underrated! I love his music though.

  • PLEASE! The dramatic pieces from Mahler and Wagner. I must know!!!

  • The Mahler was the 5th Symphony and the Wagner was the Tannhauser Overture

  • You deserve only good comments for bringing appreciation to these geniuses

  • 8.Elgar; 14.Bruckner;17.Mahler ??? instead of Glinka, Mussorgsky,Prokofiev or Korsakov...

  • I agree!! What about Prokofiev??

  • Un bel video!! !Congratulations! Thanks e Grazie mille*** Buona notte*

  • Bello

  • I'm a Bach person but I agree that Beethoven is considered a public favourite!

  • Great Video, also kinda fair, but I have to agree with the spanish guy, Mozart inspired Beethoven in many areas. But when it comes to inspiration and stuff like that, I guess Bach deserves a prize since he created all the chords, which all the other composers after him used...

  • great music and beautiful music.

    great!

  • They are all good! Just wonderful!!

  • Eccellente

  • I like Sherbert...I mean Schubert. Sherbert is good too (especially lime) Great, fun video! 5 stars.

  • Congratulations, and Bravos to you.

These Composers were Giants. They make living

worthwhile. We are all blessed as human beings just to have heard them.

  • Always enjoy your videos, thanks for posting.

    I also voted for Beethoven.

    All the best,Robert

  • You are to be congratulated for your effort to encourage viewer appreciation of the famous classical music composers and their works.

  • Also! I would like to know the names of the second and third song played during Tchaikovsky's session? Thanks!

  • What's the piece played at 6:00 at Elgar's second picture? It sounds so majestic, and I would also like to know the name. Thank you!

  • The second piece of Elgar was the Pomp and Circumstance No 1 and the second Tchaikovsky was the Romeo and Juliet Overture. The third Tchaikovsky was the 1812 overture.

  • very nice! Too bad more young folks don't listen to this music. They don't know what they're missing.

  • The Hungarian Rhapsody No 2, has a catchy tune doesn't it!

  • I love Tchaikovsky, he's such a happy composer. And his songs are so diverse, from his first then his fourth as an example lol and that famous one you walways hear in love scenes lol (at 8:04 I alwasy forget the name). Awsome vid, hope you get over 100K views soon :)

  • The most beautiful piece from the greatest composer - The 9th symphony of Beethoven!!!

  • 5th is much better than de 9th

I agree that Beethoven is one of the best though.

Although I think that Bach should always be number one here, no contest.

  • We are different people so we have different taste and for almost everybody this classification is different.

  • Well i partly agree, and I guess it is hard to decide within the top three here. They are all musical gods ;-)

Personally though I think Bach just has more brilliant pieces than the other two, and his pieces are also harmonically more deep. I do not think that is taste, that is fact. But of course the best of Beethoven is surely one of the best music ever created.

  • Thank you for all your very kind comments!

  • Thank you very much for this eternal work of musical art.

    ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • I wish like to thank you for this video.

    ----------

    Bach, Mozart, Verdi.

  • What was the piece that was played during Rossini's appearance? I know it's very famous, and I feel stupid not to know the name.

  • It was the William Tell Overture. Thanks for commenting!

  • overture to william tell

  • An education, thanks for putting this together. I wonder how many would have been rock 'n' rollers if only they had known?!

  • Handel and Bach are my faves. I love baroque.

  • Composer that I think should have better rating: Rossini,Johnann Strauss,Vivaldi,Haydn

Composer that I think should be in this video:Pachelbel,Bizet,Saint-Sean

  • great video but I like that Mozart was the number 1 but everything else is incredibly beautiful beautiful beautiful imprecisonante beethoven was excellent.

    thanks for making this video

  • A nice compilation!

  • I salute you Beethoven! And good work, Earthic, even though me personally would have wanted to see Mozart as the winner. Oh, and by the way, what is the name of the first Shostakovich-piece?

  • The second Shostakovich piece featured was his Piano Concerto No 2: First Movement. Thanks for commenting!

  • Oh I forgot to vote before! Here is my favourite composer.

    1.Mozart

    2.Rossini

    3.Bach

    4.Vivaldi

  • Congratulations to the 100th Video. Here are really great composers here!

  • i hoped chopin in the top 5.

    ='(

    xD, but tchaikovsky is AMAZING!!,

bach is omg!! mozart weeba, and beethoven (H)

  • This video made come tears to my eyes... when I saw Tchaikovsky I just thought in his painful life, and in all the music he composed. He would be really proud of being 4th and following the great Bach. I don't want to be selfish with the other composers, I also admire Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Dvorak, Shostakovich, but Tchaikovsky is the only one that makes me feel this... it's something I can't explain with words. In appreciation of all you have done, this deserves to be in my favourites. Thanks

  • yeah Ludwig is the man!! I think Verdi and Liszt must be more up in the leaderboard :-D Nice vid!!

  • I thought the results were quite wierd as well. It was one point between Mozart and Beethoven!

  • One point! Unbelievable! (I voted for Mozart as you know)

  • I knew that the 3 first would be these. There is simply NO OTHER answer in the history of music. Personally I voted the...#2 but I said to my friend earthatic that my soul is between the #2 and the...."winner". Fair enough I think, concerning the 3 firsts. Brahms is another surprise, I was sure he would be in the first 10!

  • thanks for the kind comment!

  • Many congratulations earthatic! Perfect job! I told you in the PM that is hard between between #2 and #1 but...the triad is always the same, regardless of who comes first! Well done mate!

  • I think the Russians should have a better place in the matrix. Elgar was a surprise for me as #9.
