  • Sounds nice. I always wondered what that tune sounds like.

  • Enhorabuena...!

La presión de tu pianola es fantástica, increíble; tengo tres pianolas y en ninguna de ellas se pedalea con tanta tranquilidad como en la tuya.

    Felicitaciones,

    Rafael.

  • Thank you! My player-piano-on-YouTube tolerance is usually well under a minute, and you know why: poorly or never tuned, then either suckboxed or pumped so furiously that the hammers try to break strings. If a player sounds like a machine, it's not musical. I've an old book on properly playing players, and it suggests that if the roll mechanism's motor was electric or spring-wound, the reservoirs could be eliminated and pumping would more perfectly control experession.

  • Does it have a Gulbransen action?

  • No. It has a Simplex action. I've inspected this piano top to bottom and see no evidence of it being rebuilt, yet it plays near perfect and is the most airtight player I've yet encountered.

  • If you observe how little pedal pumping is required to make this piano operate, my comment isn't all that odd. A player piano played manually that has leaky bellows, valves and tubing, requires three times the effort seen in this video. A "suck box" or vacuum pump usually compensates for excessive air leaks. THIS piano is the envy of a purist!

  • great!!!!

  • WOW... the pneumatics are in perfect condition. Doesn't appear to be a leak anywhere in that system.

  • What an odd comment
