Actually, many white men have very diverse experiences in the world. Some have traveled widely. Others have held jobs outside the legal profession as they put themselves through college. Some have worked in minority communites or married women from other cultures. The point is you cannot judge a book by its cover as Judge Sotomayor did in her famous "wise latina" speech. i disagree: as soon as race or ethnicity is being used to describe somebody, it makes absolute sense to apply the same standards to everybody.
