I was there and the rules were explained at the onset by the Mayor of Boca Raton...there was to be no outbursts and questions were to be submitted upon entry!!The forum was not an open debate with back and forth. All the questions submitted were read randomly by a resident of the Volen Center and many of the questions were critical of Col Wests positions...there was no hand picked softball questions! First of all, there is no such thing as a "difficult question" for Congressman Allen West.I was at the town hall, and the first several questions were anything but softball, dealing with abortion, Medicare, Planned Parenthood, immigration, national security, and others. I can tell you that two vocal agitators who were sitting behind me at the beginning of the meeting actually stopped shouting and listening after the first 30 minutes. The video is a cut and paste hack job created by a professional. I watched him film at the town hall using a $5000 pro video camera. The woman interviewed had no knowledge of the process. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TOUGH QUESTION for Congressman West. The subjects in the town halls included 120 questions on all subjects. What exactly was left out? Congressman West continues to connect with people because he is speaking from his heart: he represents all Americans. West is the real deal.

In '03 he wrote for the AEI-Brookings Joint Center for Regulatory Studies saying that human life varies in value. And we've had similar cases in the U.S. Baby Joseph is suffering and is not likely to live long. Not that the hospitals or courts should make the decision whether he lives or dies, but I don't see what in God's name that has to do with socialized health care. You're using a red herring. Not by the QUALITY of treatment. Coverage does not equate to healthcare. That's like increasing demand without also increasing supply. Do you honestly believe that the patient per doctor ratio in those countries was anywhere near adequate BEFORE they established socialized health care? Not even close.

The word 'socialized' in this context refers to the government effectively taking over all health care services, which encompasses a sixth of our economy. The other nanny state governments have universal health care either because it's in line with their socialism ideals(just about all European countries), or they have an extremely small population compared to us (Canada...). There's a reason most ppl here reject it...

When you enter the hall, if you have a question, you take a number like you would at the DMV.
The people running the Town Hall would take note of the first and last numbers taken, and they would put all the numbers into a hat.
The numbers are drawn at random, and the askers have 1-2 minutes each for their question and answer.
Cowards and Crooks like West would never go for it, though...

I was there and the rules were explained at the onset by the Mayor of Boca Raton...there was to be no outbursts and questions were to be submitted upon entry!!The forum was not an open debate with back and forth. All the questions submitted were read randomly by a resident of the Volen Center and many of the questions were critical of Col Wests positions...there was no hand picked softball questions! The only outbursts came from the organizational left(I.E. N.O.W.,ACORN and SEIU members)!!

I was there and no one in the audience was even allowed to speak, if you spoke you were asked to leave. It was much more like a politcal event than a "townhall" meeting. It was a joke. A boring but scary joke at that.

First of all, there is no such thing as a "difficult question" for Congressman Allen West.I was at the town hall, and the first several questions were anything but softball, dealing with abortion, Medicare, Planned Parenthood, immigration, national security, and others. I can tell you that two vocal agitators who were sitting behind me at the beginning of the meeting actually stopped shouting and listening after the first 30 minutes. I've seen this before: people opening their minds.

By the way, Russia and Iran still hold regular elections as well, and there is typically one candidate on a ballot.

After all, according to the free market, it won't be profitable to save the lives of such people.
