  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR RIght! We do this from the day we learn how to walk! This is not a dance you can learn sweetie, it must flow from your veins! It's a traditional dance! So funny how you think you can learn it in 1 to 2 months! Never!!

    Andre

  • fantastic drumming and dancers. my question is this, how are you able to select just one lead female dancer from all of the beautiful smooth brown skin women? They all put on quite a show and are eyefuls as everyone can see. So what makes one more desirable as a lead dancer over the others?

  • that black dude can dance!

  • hot babe!!

  • hiw can someone move so quick i =s amazing and the girk with own syndrome how cute

  • @amorwladi Amazing ...out of the beautiful dance...the happy people...the wonderful music..and over all the show of Brazilian culture.....you notice the young lady.....!!!! I guess WE are blind to what you call illness....trully i did not notice it....might be because in OUR hearts we all are children of God. and not all alike.

  • What is the name of this song?

  • @Averri09 Hello my friend, this was just a "samba drum warm up" as we call it here, totally improvised, so it has no name... Its just pure "samba drumming".. All the best.

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR she is a true samba dancer! love her axe!!!

  • She is SEXY xD

  • @JoKaChyLd Indeed she is! She knows how to dance, but also how to attract charisma!

  • Where's Waldo?

  • @flako4ladiez Need to look carefully!

  • i love samba!!! i hate it how the rest of the world tries to turn samba into a ballroom dance...... NO samba is 100% brazilian music, samba is not ballroom

  • @anonymous10001000 What a great way to start my week!!! I COMPLETELY agree with you...I get kind of sad when I see "american samba", not that I am being nationalistic, but it makes no sense!!! It´s like saying "Brazilian baseball" or "Brazil Mickey Mouse". Samba origin is Brazil. Period. It comes from several mixtures of dances and rhythms, from Europe, Africa, and Brazil itself. This is something I will never allow: samba is "ballroom" thanks for such a thoughtful comment!!

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR have you seen the arguments on youtube?? people will stop at nothing to prove that there supposedly is "2 kinds of samba"

the ballroom community have slaughtered many other cultural latin dances too!!

  • @anonymous10001000 Hello my friend, I have been hearing some "noise" about that. Including festivals advertising "American samba competitions" in Ballroom academies...No sense at all. This is why we are here "entrenched" to defend our culture. Thank you again for supporting our cause and such a LUCID compliment! great weekend to you!

  • @anonymous10001000 thats so true, i think when people decide to take a peice of someone elses culture thats not theirs and try to duplicate it then it gets watered down. Ballroom samba is pretentious and a total bore...

  • @jewelscreation1 ballroom samba is a factory plastic dance that is an attempt to make the Brazilian culture more palpable to the European tastes. You might as well call it European dancing instead of latin dancing......

  • @anonymous10001000 soo true, I always thought ballroom dance was the caucasian way of stealing others cultures... Ballroom dance suffocates the true dance & DILUTES IT!

  • @jewelscreation1 1000% agree. This is why I "combat" with such energy the argument, because the other path would be the destruction of the culture.

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR Thats right, the only way to not let them ruin our respective cultures is by not allowing the europeans to have our customes the way they define them, I'd argue that 100%

  • @jewelscreation1 im so glad im not the only person that feels this way..... i hate it when tourists come to rio expecting that during carnival time we BALLROOM DANCE!!! how ridiculous!!! and its all because they call their (completely different) dance samba!!

  • @anonymous10001000 Thank you once again for the enlighten comment and support. You provided a perfect definition when you mentioned "factory plastic". I could add even, "pasteurized"...All the best my friend!

  • @anonymous10001000 Amen!!!!

  • @anonymous10001000 i know exactly what you mean im not Brazilian but Ive always loved the music some music like this should be left alone samba is perfect the way it is

  • @MsLulu2808 im so glad someone else agrees :)

  • Tengo que ir pa Brasil! D:

  • @babu88881 Estamos a cá , con los braços abiertos. Tenemos la Copa y Olympiadas y Carnaval en 2012. Venga!!

  • she's amazing!! those guys dancing around her ae also pretty good!

  • @scasa79 I totally agree with you. Some say she is not a true samba dancing, but as i have explained, this was a special presentation, and it always involve more of "visual effect". "Pure-pure" samba dancing you see in normal samba practices and routines. Tks for the comment!

  • Brazilian Lil' Kim. Nice.

  • @mmazed I agree. She dances impressively!

  • @mmazed Yeah right!! no she dont look like lil kim!! lil kim have had waayyy tooo much surgery done. so her looks are NOT natural AND she looks a mess. and this girl sure dont look like the old lil kim either!! to me she look like Vanity.. Prince ex girlfriend.

  • oooohhh she got that booty moving well! XD

  • @shilzna a Great samba dancer!

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR i wish i can samba :( i dont have the body to XD

  • She has a beautiful color!!

  • @mspereira06 I agree with you. A great mix!!

  • Whoever said she's not as good as she thinks she is, you try getting up there and let's see how well you do lol.

  • Not as good or as sexy as that dancer thinks she is.

  • @jakeenan for me, I think she does the job pretty well! But I respect your opinion. tks for the post

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR Apologies for my post. I'd been watching a whole bunch of Samba drummers and dancers. I didn't rate her as highly as some I'd seen. Like one, for instance , that I saved as a favourite to my channel- check her out, what a mover, incredible!

Sorry for sounding mean. And for the record, that dancer is a looker and can dance. I did enjoy the upload very much.

  • @jakeenan Not a problem. All well intentioned posts are allowed, and variety of opinion. You did not in any way disrespect or offend the dancer, so thumbs up for everyone.

Thanks for the kind message and stop when you can!

  • lawd hammercy..... I have to go to brazil

  • @armorarmylt yeah., Brazil today is in vogue! Exporting happiness. Welcome & tks for the post!

  • awwww am vex i wish i could do dat they are great dat guy is killin it he is very good and the girl will do very good in trinidad carnivl cause she is showin she can wine to ..i want to do dat ok am goin to practice LOOL

  • brazilians girls got nice bodies i wish i had a body like that

  • @Haddasahethop try to google the samba history in Rio. I was born in Rio and unfortunately I am not a godess..lol.. the girls you guys see on tv dancing spend the whole year working on their bodies and they are choosen to appear to "sell" the image of sensuality, plus the african descendant ones live on the samba comes from> poor communities, slums on the hills..they can´t be fat! no need to explain why. But Brazil is huge and mixed, we see all kind body type here.

  • @docinhocarioca wow thanks for letting me know. i like samba and am trying to kno about its history. and also trying to learn it. did samba originated from black brazilians bcoz they really know how to dance with energy and zeal.am not saying that other brazilian dont kno how to dance samba but when the african descended ones dance they do it so effortlessy and its like they've got it on their feet and body and am like wow

  • whats like the name of the samba ? i wanna download it (:

  • @SillyLiddoNana It is the samba theme for Estacio de Sa Samba School 2011 . You can find it in the intenet

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR you can barely hear the lyrics.. it´s a " bateria" solo.. just to practice and get ready for carnival. you know rehearsal stuff.

  • ELECTROSHOCK !!!

  • @b1gflick True electrocshock!! Everytime I go to the samba rehearsal I feel the goose bumps! Amazing!!

  • Ah so this is the REAL Brazillian way to dance Samba... it is alot more earthy and natural which I love!!! thank you for posting - I am a dancer but I don't know much about Samba and I am trying to learn. I notice she does a fast shimmy much like us bellydancers, but of course different...

  • @IshtarBellydancer Thanks Ishstar !! I really think Like I have posted in a few Belly Dance videos, both dances have many similarities. Both are sensual, both are very expressive & help too to "heat up couples" . Here in Brazil we have the worlds 2nd largest Arab community. We love it, specially after we made that famous soap opera "The Clone".

Now back to the dance, this is really the true Samba dance, and not the one some Americans want to present as if they invented!! Pure energy!!

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR thank you thank you so much sharing this information! I really want to understand the dance and how it should look traditionally. I come from a polynesian back ground of very fast hip circles so, I love this way of dancing..:D This lady is awesome ! You are right that the Western way tries to make it all stiff looking so it loses that natural fluidity. So, the dance first and foremost must be ENERGY, than they do some lovely slow moves like our bellydance undulations

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR Unfortunately, I don't know the soap opera "The Clone"... however, I know that Brazillians that take up bellydance are always awesome! Bellydance is about not making the movements look to over-emphasised, so it will take some practise for me to try and get this Samba dance right... oh well as you said it burns up energy and yes, I can dance for about an hour of the Samba, and than I need to have a break!!! :D thank you for sharing, appreciated - have a lovely day!

  • @BrazilCarnivalCOMBR oh I have posted your vids to my facebook page for my bellydance collegues and students to see the real deal !! some of us like to take a few moves and mix it with our own dance for Show Fun !! :D

  • @IshtarBellydancer Hello my friend, I saw your video and noticed what you meant about shimmy and polynesian dance. I sent you a private message w a video w s slower kind of samba. Cheers!

  • @IshtarBellydancer I am a girl from Rio and I tell you, it´s not the real way to dance samba. she is just tring to look good in video. try to find some streets carnival videos. wish i could dance and post a video here, but dunno why the videos i post are somehow slow.. slow frame.. and I would LOVE to dance the belly dance!!!

  • @docinhocarioca okay thanks, I still think she is a lovely dancer as her movements are fluid and she shows a 'seasoned dancers movement' not something that a new dancers can do.... :D

  • @docinhocarioca I would agree partially with you...there are segments on the videos, specially when she is on the stage where she does some true samba dance...in others ofcourase, it was a show, since it was a great party...

A video where you can see the best samba is with raissa: check this out:

    watch?v=QWeej7cJ0ZA

This is the best I have seen in all my years of samba observer.

  • Ah so this is the REAL Brazillian way to dance Samba... it is alot more earthy and natural which I love!!! thank you for posting - I am a dancer but I don't know much about Samba and I am trying to learn

  • Excellent the dancers, she is fantastic and the drums rythyms!!!
