I believe it is supposed to be a chibi. Even I used to draw chibis keeping their heads huge and the body detailed. :D

There is a difference between chibi and SD (super deformed).

@BotikChan its a way to overlap parts of the drawing so you can change or work on one element without having to redo everything else. think of it kinda like the plastic animation "cells" they used to use to make cartoons. they draw the character movements on one sheet and "layer" it over the background so only minimal drawing is needed for each frame.
