  • Omg!!!! Is this guy a sufi!???

We never heard of him here in the UK.

  • Thanks to the media, Sufism is been given a bad name and understanding. When it's just pure and lovely, following the footsteps of the Rightful Masters.

  • He's still Sufi though. I cant trust a word that comes out of his mouth ... May Allaah ta'ala guide him, ameen.

  • @asiya1011 Asalamalikum.

What makes you think anybody will trust anything you say?

May Allah guide you and all of us . Ameen

  • @dj2can I'm not telling anyone to trust what I say. All I'm saying is that I don't trust this 'Shaykh' ........

  • @asiya1011 Asalamalikum.

May I know why brother? He is a gem of the Ahlusunnah WalJama3a and if you can't trust him then I don't know who you can trust :)

  • @asiya1011 What is your understanding of Sufism?

  • @ByChoiceMuslim My understanding of Sufism and what I know about Sufism is that it is absolutely NOT related to Islaam at all! The followers of this group worship the grave, associate partners with Allaah (Azzawajal), and call upon the Messenger Muhammad (S) and ask things of him .... Doesn't anyone else find this disturbing?

I don't mean to divide the Ummah, and I know it's wrong to do so, but I really don't want my Muslim brothers and sisters to be misguided through him. Allaah knows best (:

  • @asiya1011

    May Allah guide you :)

  • @humanadvice What? So you think Shirk is okay? Well alright then, I'm not the one that needs to be guided!

I worship Allaah ALONE and do not prescribe partners with Him, But ...if you guys are all Sufi's then fair enough, I rest my case ...

May Allaah ta 'ala guide you and all of Hamza Yusuf's followers and may He open your eyes to pure guidance, i.e Tawheed (Oneness of Allaah), Insha'allaah, Aameen! (:

  • @asiya1011 You know, you should not judge him based on Abu Mussab lecture on Sufism. You don't know what Shaykh Hamza Yusuf believes so why slander him? Just because modern days sufis, worship geaveyards and dance in places like Pakistan and, India does not mean all the people of Sufism believe on those nonsense. You are just assuming Shaykh Hamza believes those stuff because Abu Mussab said in is lecture thats is what sufis do. Why don't you watch this video and then criticise.

  • i honestly feel like half the commentors on youtube are paid to spread hate, esp on vids with beneficial knowledge. like srsly guys really? i want to be your neighbour in heaven. can we please just work on being those who submit to our Creator?

  • @slmbacan I know right!

  • @ByChoiceMuslim Thanks for warning us brother. I've noticed his comments too. Is he also the user named 'tigerofchrist'?

  • @ByChoiceMuslim why? and how you know him?

  • but to be fair, Abu Ameenah also says that people cant just read the translations of Quran and Hadith and must listen to scholars, but NOT in the master to student format ie blind following. personally I would say dont go crazy on who to follow and who not to follow, ISLAM IS WHAT ALLAH REVEALED IN THE QURAN, AND WHAT THE PROPHETS WERE SENT WITH.

  • @shinobiung True brother, I believe fiqh is something best left alone to the person, it can get personal thats why

  • @dj2can Allah al-hakeem, so elegantly said. A wiseman is truly someone who knows how little he knows. And I tell every Muslim that asks me about Islam to "not even touch" the books of fiqh until they memorise the Quran, its meaning, the seerah and most of the authentic hadiths. For isnt that what Allah wanted for mankind? The Quran and to imitate his messenger alayhi salaam.

  • Firsty you should all know I was listening to Hamza Yusuf when hardly ANYONE in the UK had heard of him. And alhamdulilah I have gleemed a good amount of knowledge about Islam and Islamic history from his talks, and I would LOVE to attend any future talks he may give in the UK. But I do believe he tells people to follow a shiekh (in a master to student format) and that everyone should follow one of the 4 madhabs because people are unable to be guided just by reading Quran and Hadith.

  • @shinobiung

'' because people are unable to be guided just by reading Quran and Hadith.''

And yes that's true, without the requisite knowledge you cannot expect to interpret the Quran and Hadith. Reading for devotion and reflection though is another thing.

  • @TheKap1an I will not reply except with what Quran says "We have not sent this Quran except as a guide and a truth for all mankind"

  • @shinobiung

That doesn't negate what I said. There's pre requisites one needs to interpret the Quran. Anyone can read it for devotion, that's a different matter.

  • @TheKap1an then, that "pre-requisite" is the knowledge people should be following, and NOT the Quran, do you see how you have gone astray, the Quran is no longer the most important book, its now this "pre-requisite" knowledge that MUST be learnt before the Quran. Your saying to take the Quran as a hymn book, and that the guiding knowledge is this "pre-requisite", And thats NOT what Allah says, and thats NOT what the prophet SAW taught, what you are upon is NOT Islam. Are you Jew?

  • @shinobiung

Did you read what I said? Anyone can read the Quran for devotion and reflection. But if your going to start getting into matters such as legal rulings and interpretations, then the first requisite is 7th century Arabic, then there are other branches to study.

  • @TheKap1an if I read in the Quran, that intoxicants are haram, your saying I need to go study for 5 years of Fus'ha Arabic and Madhab fiqh and your scholars interpretations before I give up alcohol because I am unable to interpret the meanings? And the other list of Quranic instructions on Dua, on character, speech, on righteous actions. Then there is the issue, of WHO are the scholars? your scholars are NOT the same scholars other Muslims take. What if a scholar is wrong?

  • @shinobiung No, thats just common sense. Some things are straight to the point, and some things need to be interpreted.

Allah says He sits on a Throne, doesn't mean literally a throne though. It's a metaphor

  • concerning legal rulings, we dont really have a problem where ignorant convert muslims are taking positions as Judges, Caliphs and Kings and using translations of the Quran to make Legal rulings. Your talking about an extreme branch of Islamic knowledge used for building a legal framework. When the sahabah (who are BETTER than ALL your scholars) made legal rulings, even they would make mistakes and which "branch of study" did they first go and master?

  • @shinobiung Please read the Description for Shaykh Hamza Yusuf Opinions on taking Shaykh.

  • 00:46 - "Definitely not! No, I Am Not A Sufi."

    ^ couldn't agree more.

  • I wish more people who speak bad about Sheikh Hamza can watch this video...JazakAllah khair for the post

  • So is shayhk Hamza saying there isn't even ONE true sufi these days?

This might be the first time I have to disagree with him. and inshallah the only time.

  • @dj2can I think he was quoting someone, I have heard other scholars say that too.

  • @naddogg89 Sorry brother, I don't understand what you are trying to tell me lol
