  • muslims have been treated foe the honesty, peace, truthfulness and standing up since tome started ..

  • Denzel is a great actor.

  • Malcolm X didn't have no big ass ghetto afro like Freeman.

  • Spike Lee's version rocked!!

  • Spike Lee's version is way better than this version. This one would put somebody to sleep! Both Morgan and Denzel are gr8 actors, but give me Spike Lee's any day! Plus, Mr. Washington even looked like him. May he rest in peace.

  • laaaame

  • I didn’t know Morgan Freeman played Malcolm X at one time in his career.

  • the actress playing Malcom X's wife is Yolanda King, Martin Luther Kings, Daughter

  • @WWWronarcherINFO she looks just like Martin Luther King. Without a doubt

  • lolololol

  • the one with denzel is better

  • Morgan Freeman looks like HIGHTOWER from Police Academy :)

  • @sarimercedes Or Frederick Douglas in some parts.

  • He didn't say bye before he hung up the phone!

  • Wow

  • thank you for shearing this .

  • Wow. That was really REALLY bad. May be a candidate for the worst film of all time. Right up there with Ed Wood's 'Plan 9 From Outer Space.' Yowzah.

At least Ossie Davis was still good. Like always.

  • Why do people compare the two movies??? This one was made 10yrs before, and on a budget less than half of that of Spike Lee's movie. Even Spike couldn't get Hollywood execs to make his movie in 91, so you know this movie was going to be low budget. There's no comparison!! Of Course Spike and Denzel's movie is better!

  • GET YO HAND OUTTA MY POCKET NIGGA!

  • thats not supposed to be Cornel West? LOL

  • SORRY....ONLY DENZEL MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS REALLY IN 1965 when dat happened. Love morgan, but Denz had X down to a TEE!!!!!

  • u sure thats not Mandela? lol jk but this dude is was legend

  • lol@all of the Siskel & Ebert's here

  • well yall gotta think dis movie was made wayy b4 denzels malcolm x came out

  • Morgan isn't too bad as Malcolm.

  • MISS YOU MALCOLM

  • Denzel's movie was better.

But as far as black actors playing controversialists roles? No one beats Morgan for the power is exudes in a character........nobody.

  • @mrceebees14 It was Spike Lee's movie; Denzel is an actor. The producer provides the canvas and tone...

  • wow....Morgan Freeman is a great actor but he didnt hold a candle to Denzel's performance. And that AFRO...lol...wow....

  • hmmmm not bad but it lacked liveliness but passion was strong

  • This is an epic fail. One of the men were meant to get the shit beaten out of him

  • I think that Elijah Muhhammed life was threaten, since he was the Leader of the NOI..Malcom was his voice, Elijah didn't want to become the dead man. Malcom wasn't trying to be quiet for something he believed in deeply he formed his own Nation. He was going to take the nation of Islam to another level. If you really look at it. Malcom laid his life down for the NOI in the fight for Justice, for Black people dealing with oppression, Jews as well as Gentiles...

  • that guy on 4:40 looked more like malcom x then morgan freeman did

  • Spike Lee's version is far superior. Respect to Mr Freeman, but Denzel gets the thumbs up for his portrayal.

  • In the 1960s our brothers and sisters were hanged how can you gang bang, I ain't never had to run from the Ku Klux Klan and I shouldn't have to run from a black man - Self Destruction

  • @zoobalac Shut up before I have to fuck you up:3

  • O filme de SL é muito melhor. Denzel Washington foi mais brilhante.

  • yeah, i think my 2 yr old nephew did the stunts and special effects......."the docta, the docta, for Godsake the docta!!!" lmbao

  • That's also Dr. King's daughter acting in that scene.

  • based on the clips of Malcolm X that I have seen, I think Denzel did a better job of characterising Malcolm. Though I still think Morgan Freeman is a good actor.

  • Spike Lee's version is so much better, it's not even funny. Spike Lee's version is his "Godfather" and this version is more like a "student film".

  • I saw this on amazon so I had to check it out.

  • will smith as malcolm x would be cool

  • I never knew Morgan Freeman played Malcolm X until I saw this!

  • Yes friend this is why Jesus called the pharisees of his day hypocrites, vipers and false religious leaders. They were more concerned with projecting an outward appearance of phony righteousness then having a right heart with God. Listen, false religions with destroy UR life.Jesus said the Kingdom of God is at hand so repent and believe the Gospels. In the Gospel of John 3.Jesus says you MUST be born again to see the Kingdom of God. Don't be deceived- Repent & believe on Jesus the Son of God

  • MORGAN FREEMAN is a great. I have RESPECT for this actor but, Denzel played the role way better for my opinion.

  • Morgan freeman look more like Frederick Douglas then brotha Malcolm

  • Morgan Freeman is a great actor....I will watch any movie in He chooses to play.

  • The first movie of Malcolm X, the second was with Denzel Washington!

  • I Didn't Even Know That Morgan Freeman Played Brotha Malcom X.

  • just saying the newer 1 was more realistic and tells more.

    R.I.P.

  • Love Morgan Freeman, a great actor he is, but c'mon man, they couldn't cut his hair? I can't even focus on Freeman's acting because the afro is distracting.

  • This movie is actually called The Death of a Prophet: Last Days of Malcolm X Dir. by Woodie King Jr. so obscure that in most filmographies about Mr. Freeman this film needs to be added

  • of all the assassination scenes of Malcom X I think the Mario van Peebles scene in the 2001 Ali film was the most dramatic and accurate.

And of the 5 assassinations of the 1960's era Malcom X's was the most violent.....he was hit a total of 16 times.

  • damn this looks amateur low budget shit lol thank god for spike lee , sorry morgan hahaha

  • Poor Morgan looks more like a warped David Ruffin than Malcolm X.

  • anyone see MLK's daughter? How ironic.

  • @leeshalee ...Yolanda King R.I.P.

  • Another job for the "Operation Trident" team.

  • Yolanda King must have been the most humble woman in the world. She participated in a movie spotlighting a man who often called her father a uncle tom sale out and a weak leader.

  • @b75s however Malcolm x then renounced his claims after leaving the nation of Islam and asked king to forgive him for what he said.

  • @scottmaster100 I learn something new practically everyday on utube, I had no idea. I never would have thought Malcolm X would apololgize to anybody as solid minded as he was.

  • @b75s but they made up and became friends later when malcolm discover that the noi was phonys

  • assalam allaikum

can i know if there are still muslims black muslims practicing islam in america

  • yeah there are many

  • the malcom x movie with denzel washington was better

  • Denzel's had more depth and planning, I'm sure.

  • all due respect, denzel's scene was better

  • @khussett I have to agree, although for the 1980's, this probably was a great scene.

  • @khussett I think this is a much more accurate interpretation off how it went down.

  • @khussett he looked more imilar to malcolm x too hehe

  • @khussett i think both scenes were good but denzel looked more like him

  • @khussett Yes it was much better..

  • @khussett Because Denzel looked the part, Morgan doesn't. In some parts he looks like Frederick Douglas. And Maloclm X never had that bad ass afro, either.

  • @sdseals2076 ya true Denzel look like Malcolm X then Morgan did, and your right about that whole Afro thing, where the hell did they did that Malcolm had a afro that big ? lol

  • @Marisuka44 I don't know but I bet Morgan Freeman never talks about this.

  • @khussett agree!

  • Honestly Morgan Freeman probably did a great job by the standards of that time and era of tv. My question is who has the best assassination scene comparing both and including the Malcolm X role in Will Smith's Ali movie?

  • I wish Morgan did more of these roles. Instead he became the Hollywood House Negro, playing roles that are always the sidekick, the servant, or a Black man always cheerleading for the White hero.

  • Let some other black actors play the roles that challenge the archetype of the black buddy or drug addict. I believe it's getting better. But that's just me.

  • Morgan Freeman is hero, he showed us blacks how to behave and be good for the white man,

  • @JesusManson323 I agree. selling out is acceptable in the new millennium...

  • who was better denzel or morgan? i think denzel

  • who would bennefit from Malcolm being killed...whoever ....they thought wrong. The nation of islam taught wrong,Islam is for all human beings, thee is no diety worthy of worship except for Allah and Muhammad is His messenger .not Elijah nor Fard Muhammad

  • @premedog All that is not the point of the Nation of Islam. Those Arab Muslims are just dividing us original people with all that "pure" Islam stuff.

  • Why was he wearing a afro???

  • Wow Yolanda King... fitting.

  • Someone should upload Ossie Davis's eulogy to Minister Malcolm

  • man Morgan Freeman is the best actor to fit this amazing role of Malcolm X..its truly amazing

  • 0:30 wow, that guy was on hbo's oz.

  • Great Man - A real legend. He put his life on the line for the sake of his peoples freedom and Human rights. The influence Islam played in the struggle for freedom 1400 years ago and in the modern era is paramount and is what its all about - Peace and Justice for all mankind. Possibly the main reason they had to pull to the plug is because he was a great speaker and was a muslim. A shame as we lost the only real leader of the 21st century that truly stood for something great and Inspiring. RIP

  • man the guy who first shot malcolm didnt even point the gun high enough it looked like lol its was like pointing to the ground

  • wack!! i like the other nigga get yo hand outta my pocket scene!!

  • where did this come from?? lol

i never knew they made a malcom x movie b4 the denzel 1 lol

  • Who actually killed MalcolmX?

  • Brothers from the Nation, with help from the feds on info.

  • I agree

  • Yolanda King is beautiful & great here ! Really wonderful & inspirational sister-God Bless her.

  • It's interesting interpretation but Denzel totally killed it. Denzel is Malcolm X

  • wow that was horrible it sucks sucks sucks!

  • could they have tried any less? Doesnt look anything like him, I mean atleast.... ATLEAST get the hair right. Jeesh... He looks like from the 70's

  • i hate when people discredit other people work lik ethey in the same field...they did the best they could back then stop bitchin

  • so with your logic you are saying the same thing as "you can't judge wether a movie is good or bad because you can't make a better movie yourself", that's absurd and ignorant, lazyminded response. Obviously they didn't do they best they could, I don't know about the performance cuz I havent seen it, but as for how he looked, was nothing like Malcom, and he didn't even resemble him in the first place. Stop bitching

  • lol u typed a full paragraph to me i feel special ;) lazyminded response? must not have been cuz u RESPONDED now stfu and go play

  • haha. No I just meant lazyminded cuz many people rationalize in an irational way. When you for instance say you don't like a movie and you probably gotten a response like "well you can't make a better one yourself!", which is totally irrelevant and crazy, and your comment was along those lines, that's way I gave that example to get my point across. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go play

  • safety 1st!!

  • I go.... COMMANDO!

  • LOL!

  • That's M. Freeman's trade mark hair style! lol

  • I really hope a remake is in the making for the 21st century.

  • who made this movie, a bunch of kids

  • The lovely Yolanda King as Betty Shabazz

    r.i.p

    :O)

  • was it really black ppl who killed malcolm X?

  • nation of islam people killed him, but the fbi had him killed

  • No, they where short on white actors....

Yea it was black people who killed Malcolm X,

  • it was the government and the NOI

  • You can never be Sure.

  • 100% sure

  • Oh, so you WHERE in the room when they decided his assassination ? ((If they did)) not that I'm with them or anything but you can't just throw accusations.

  • listen dude...did u even do ya research yet? do that first then come back to me by the time youve done that, you'll learn ya self the truth

  • Look I know he said some stuff about Elijah Mohammed before being killed but still we can NEVER be TOO sure there's always something in between the lines.

  • lol omg dude do more research plese

  • Explain it then ! stop telling me to do re-search just Explain.

  • wow.. deep

  • Its evident that spike lee used this as a reference. It's really the exact same scene. Spike's was better. R.I.P Minister Malcolm. I hope that people who think Malcolm was a racist know they are wrong. I believe he was tainted by the NOI views until his trip to Mecca where he learned that Islam has many faces. I am not Muslim, but I have friends that are and they are not the way tv portrays them.

  • Though poorly presented, It served a purpose of introducing the next generation to Malcolm X. Spike was able to expand our minds and pay X the proper big screen treatment. Neither film was perfect but Lee's film painted a stronger picture of the fallen leader.

  • Dizem agora q este ñ presta pq viram o filme de Spike Lee, mas eskecem q O Spike teve este como referência pra fazer o seu.

  • Spike Lee's version is better. These people can't act and this scene is a little unorganized.

  • Dont forget that Lee probably had this movie as reference to do his own version. A version of Malcom X's film shoud be done from ten to ten years

  • This one was crap. Because why would someone say. "Get a docter. For god sakes a docter" ?

  • Maybe the quality of this movie helped inspire Spike Lee to try to do better? If so, that's a good thing.

  • After watching Spike Lees (D Washington)

I must say that this is poor.

  • i agree

  • I second that, this one looks horrible.

    I LOVE SPIKE LEE!

  • u gotta understand spike useed this as reference. that maybe the 1st attempt at it. EVEN SPIKE LEE HAD TO ASK FOR TONS OF MONEY AND FAVORS TO DO THE FILM. IT ALMOST GOT SHUT DOWN 3 TIMES

  • why would a black man shoot another black man i mean arent we all family

  • a black man kills another out of ignorance and self hatred. if he shot the ones who have done him harm he wouldn't be able to get the gun in the first place. WE WILL WAKE UP!

  • this is horribly un-accurate as to what really happened, I was much more moved by Spike Lee's film... RIP

  • It's almost as if Morgan arrived late to the set and there was no time to give him a haircut and shave. It looks so half assed. All they had to do was clean up the beard, and give him a haircut.

  • Morgan freeman dosen't look like Malcolm x!

  • This one was weak compared to Spike Lee's version

  • I didn't even know Morgan Freeman played Malcolm X until I saw this.

  • morgan freeman doesn't look a thing like malcom

  • Where was Shaft?......This looks more like 1971.

  • Maybe the ballroom looked humble back then. They were not that rich

  • i think that was spike lee running down the stairs

  • Yes this version is very weak compared to the Spike Lee version (which was almost flawless; maybe it's just the difference in technology). The version from the movie ALI was great as well, although it was a little less detailed.

  • I think he was dead after the shotgun.

    :(

was it seariously nesisary to continue with pistles.

    thats just wrong

  • spike lee version was more realistic then this

  • and more historically accurate as well.

  • what kind of a ballrom is this?

  • and about the police...

they did arrive soon after :\

This was unexpected and this was a meeting in a ballroom, police are not usually there, especially in the 1960s. even nowadays if you had some meeting there would be no security inside with you. Just maybe.. in the lobby. Also.. the guy came out of nowhere and shot him, though he was shot even more by others. AGAIN UNEXPECTED. :(

  • why the fuck does Morgan Freeman have a mini afro? they could have atleast gave him a haircut or something, then he'd look a lot more like Malcolm X.

I know he is a great actor and all.. but the hair just bothers me, in reference to Malcolm X.

  • My thoughts exactly!

  • The nation of Islam killed him because he became Sunii instead of listening to the words of elijah Mohammad.

  • I was just pointing this out to someone the otherday. I think it was "Geronimo" or something.

Anyway, the only idian who didn't have blue eyes was "Wes Studi".

    That was so funny!

    >>>On Video:

Morgan Freeman should have chopped the fro' down. He knew better!

  • gotta love easy reader <3

  • malcolm x didnt have an afro.

  • that was terrible...bad acting and lack of historical accuracy.

  • morgan Freeman playing Malcolm x What Movie is this

  • I think Spike Lee's version was better than this one.

  • There was a movie back then? Hail YOUTUBE

  • that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Can you give me one example where hollywood has had white people portray a black man? Or anybody of a different race portray someone of another race for that matter? Oh yeah I forgot they actually had Tom Cruise play Gandhi in the Gandhi movie. Wait...No they didn't.

  • Ben Kingsley played Ghandi in 1982. Some of the better known examples of whites passing for black include: 2003s The Human Stain, Anthony Hopkins plays an African-American academic who has been "passing;" Elia Kazans 1949 Pinky, is a light-skinned black played by white actress Jeanne Crain; 1959s Imitation of Life has white Susan Kohner playing a black woman. The groundbreaking Birth of a Nation had whites playing blacks. We wont even go into the Tarzan movies.

  • Ben Kingsley is half-Indian so its not a stretch for him to be playing Gandhi.

  • Oh I apologise, you are right, I remember now. Anglo Indian. Thank you for correcting us.

  • Comment removed

  • Hollywood also gave us Angelina Jolie playing African Mariane Pearl, a white man playing a Chinese Charlie, a white David Carradine playing Kwai Chang Caine in the Kung Fu television series, Boris Karloff playing the title role in "Mask of Fu Manchu." These examples are only the tip of the iceberg.

  • Hmm. Ok, you did prove me wrong. However if you give me some movies that I have actually heard of, and not movies with "fu manchu" in the title, then I'll keep my mouth shut. And the dude who played Gandhi looked pretty indian to me.

  • Heard of the James Bond movie, Dr. No (1962), starring Sean Connery with white actor Joseph Wiseman playing the Chinese title role? Heard of the "Birth of a Nation" where African Americans were played by whites in blackface? How about another "Fu Manchu" starring white actor Chistopher Lee, but the fact remains Hollywood is a racist society where film makers have a history of casting whites as non-whites as talented Black, Asian and Latino actors fight for the few roles open to them.

  • I think Ben Kingsley who played Gandhi is Jewish. He was white and definitely not Indian. They would never get a 'brown' face as the lead character in a movie sigh :/

  • Not only he was indian but he was from the same province as gandhi, btw there are non white jews in India.

although in a country where aryan means northern indian and persian being nordic is overrared

  • Oh ok thank you for clearing that up :)

  • overrated*

ok maybe I od'd on the at the actor's studio with james lipton interview.

    anyhow tamil powah
