@sourceplayer151 Um, Its not based off of that. Its a whole different game, ran on a different game engine. THINK BEFORE YOU COMMENT YOU DUMB FUCKS STOP THINKING THIS IS PORTAL (Sorry for being a hater but take my advice)
@gunsrfun4us shut the fuck up you dense piece of shit, I think we all know that this is a different engine with a feature called "Portals". You just didn't pick up on my fucking sarcasm, making fun of the nubs. now go crawl back in your mom's vagina.
Also, nice job, replying to a 3 month old comment ;)
Null, you should really put up the forums site in the description of all of your videos, or at least all of the newer ones, you would get so many more people on the site, look at all of the views there are on this month old video!
hm, would there be a way to reduce the "resolution" of the lighting to reach a level where it will get me a reasonable framerate whiel still having lighting works like that?
@nullsquared ok i can run it and everything but i have 1 problem when i open a lvl its all in black dots what can i do also you are a boss game dev :D
Dude this really looks amazing, i'm not joking, even the real portal did not have this. Hope you can make it freeware, and i would love to beta test this.
i think you should stay with freeware though. because people with crappy computers might buy it but not check the requirments and not be able to run it without lag.
A card that supports MRTs and preferably pixel shader 3.0, but pixel shader 2.b is also supported. These means you'd want HD2000 or GF7000 and newer. The video was recorded on my 8800GTS 320MB (non-G92) with no performance issues at 1440x900.
Essentially, if you really can't run it, there's also -renderer=forward which will turn all fancy graphics off, but should run on pretty much anything (even intel's crappy integrated graphics).
This has a TON of potential for puzzle solving. I imagine something like the mirror shield from The Legend of Zelda, except with much more potential for twisted solutions.
Wow, even light goes through portals? Gee, at this rate you'll end up making it so that objects get cut off when going through a non-framed portal's edge!
????????? this is not source sdk or portal, this video is fake

People worried that if this were in Portal 2 they won't be able to run it:
1. ITS 2010 STOP COMPLAINING AND BUY A REAL PC!!!
2. This isn't even the Source engine.

So what would happen if you were to aim them into each other? Light feedback loop?

Most impressive thing I've seen in a long time. Will never get tired of portals.

I don't really see why people are obessing over light quality, it's just light.

Haha, yeah fucking right. He's spent so hard on this project, I doubt he wants some randomers stealing his work and claiming it for their own.
kilikman 2 years ago
he just need to put his project under a license...and ogre mainly benefit from community plugins. he (nullsquared) already released plenty of them

I really wanna know if my how bad things would get on my 7300GT...
also, does this work with OpenGL and/or DX ?
TiagoTiagoT 2 years ago
Your 7300GT would probably be able to physically run it, but not at any usable speed. It runs on both OpenGL and Direct3D, you choose.

So in other words, this will run fine on a 512MB RAM, Intel chipset excuse for a computer? (with graphics on lowest of course)

Yup, it definitely should.

Thanks for the reply. I'm really looking forward to the future of this project. :)

Okay, I have to admit, this is absurdly awesome. Puzzles where you have to see by the light of the Portal? Stupendous.

I agree with the others, this is VERY AWESOME.

Have you got sound or are going to work on that when you near enough finished ????
Ashyboy1992 2 years ago
Yup, no sound right now. Later.
nullsquared 2 years ago
Thought so :)
just one quick question....
Are you going to sell this or is it freeware ??? because personally I think you should sell it since its looking so great !!!!
Ashyboy1992 2 years ago
As of this very moment, we're planning on freeware.
nullsquared 2 years ago
if you don't go with freeware, what would the price be, i mean seriously, it's and amazing game.

We were actually discussing cutting up objects like that. Except that won't make it into the first version. Perhaps later.
nullsquared 2 years ago
M'kay.

You'd think this would be horribly laggy. Would scaling the portals change it at all?
brandonianhare 2 years ago
It would be horribly laggy. If Portalized used forward shading ;)
nullsquared 2 years ago
I just creamed my panties :S its awesomely awesome, I bet your not going to let this be free are you ???? :(
