Michael Brecker was the king of altissimo and was all about "WHERE" to place the notes. Anyone can play them with practice. But where you place them and what interval of notes leads up to it, that's the truly masterful part. Its about tone and placement.
i thought that it was spelt right but i just googled it and you canactually spell it either way. first two results were spelt with an o but the rest were with an a
This is all bull .....well most of it. There is a way to hit the altissimo but you have to figure it out. I could hit the altissimo notes, eventually I will make a video!!!!!!!!!
I don't see what the fuss is about. Classical saxophonists have been teaching the fundamentals of altissimo for decades. I know high schoolers that can play it proficiently. There is nothing breakthrough about this.
You've missed the point. The point is to see HOW the altissimo is produced, not the fact that IT CAN be produced (by amateurs, etc.). The technique(s) used to find out HOW is breakthrough.
An interesting watch; altissimo does set apart the different skill levels of musicians, and its great that someone's researching this technique! Well done.

It's not right to say "Unlike amatures" when U use a device. That's a "Trick" not ability.
