Do plyometric exercises need to have a rebound after the initial shock phase of the exercise? I understand if the athlete sticks the landing that the energy will dissipate, but are there any benefits to sticking the landing on certain plyometric exercises? For example, If I am working with a sprinter, and we stop off a box and land in a sprint position, is this not providing any benefits because the energy is just dissipating on impact?

From higher heights this has great benefit, but don't go over 6ft. take a look at my video Box Jumps it talks about this very subject.
