  • I keep finding more little gems of the great man's work..Jeff Lynne rules xxx

  • I think this was released at a time when Jeff wanted to end ELO.Sadly it is very hard to get some of his stuff as it doesn't feature on any albums or I-tunes.Jeff is a legend ,I wish we could have all his stuff under one umbrella as it were.He might not be a Beatle but he knows his stuff.

  • @markomarten He may not have been a BEATLE, but he was so tight with George Harrison; he might as well have been. The TRAVELING WILBURYS was the best!!!! The tribute concert and I think he was in Bangladesh. There's 3members left in the Wilburys. Hope they don't quit, even if George was the heart. They were all good together. I didn't hear this song in Electric Dreams though.

  • Stuck in my head. ;_;

  • Jeff Lynne proving once again that his b-sides are better than most artist's a-sides!

  • Very sexy song for Jeff!

  • Well, I had this Electric Dreams LP in the 1980´s. But not anymore.

I rememmber Video ! and Let It Run but

I can´t remember this nice song would have included in that LP.

Maybe in CD album version, perhaps ?

    How is it ?

  • You're right, it wasn't on the LP and I don't think it's on the CD either. It is 'Video!'s b-side (along with an instrumental version of 'Video!' on the 12"). I don't know why it wasn't on the LP. It would have fitted nicely with the other Jeff Lynne contributions.

You said you had the LP - does the LP have a different cover to the CD? I'm sure it does...

  • Well, I had to admit I can´ t remember.

In the late 1980´s I didn´t listen to rock

music very much. I was a fool and sold most of my vinyls ( the cd time was coming ).

But it´s possible it was the same as the cd cover. It looks familiar.

  • @FinnMove

This song was ONLY found on an EP as an extra song with Video. It was not on the Electric Dreams album

  • Sooner or Later is not the CD version currently offerred for sale by Amazon, but the description does identify it as the B side to the single of "Video!' .

Even by vinyl standards the album was on the brief side. There was room to include this song, marketing strategy perhaps to get people to buy both?

Probably deem unworthy for the album and B sides are often just something to fill space that they can collect royalties.

    Maybe both.

  • LOL, "THAT'S telling him, Howard!"

No reason at all that this shouldn't have been included on Balance of Power. Thematically, anyway.

  • This IS a pretty good song, by a largely underrated artist. This would have made a much better fit on Balance of Power then "Without Someone."

  • @Rndmpro Sooner or Later would've been a perfect fit along side 'Without Someone'

  • "sooner or later" and Lynne songs for Electric Dreams movie, they are of 1984..

Balance of Power, is of 1986..

  • Very nice! =^[.]^=
