We did this in Iraq with some meat eating wasp looking things. We threw out a porkchop and swarmed it. It was mostly gone by the end of our 8hr shift of guard duty.

The way these things can act is incredible.

I was at a local Renaissance festival last September, where I purchased a large turkey leg (more than I could possibly eat, to be honest,) and every so often, I had to stop and wait for one or two of these wasps to come, carve out a sizable chunk, and fly off with it.

It was comical to me, to be honest. Just wish they were a little bit faster about it. =p

I have only ever been stung by yellow jackets. They're real jerks. I've had honey bees come and land and chill with me, and I'm fine with them.

But a yellow jacket comes around me and there's a good chance if he lands on me he's going to sting me. I don't get it. I've been stung on the back of the neck, on the toe, on one of my fingers, and on my lower back. All by yellow jackets. I've got vengeance and killed all of them but the one that tagged the back of my neck. (-_-)
