  • Thx everyone 4 the nice commets luckly my husband is going to collage and getting a job so bye have a nice life! :)

  • toyota had no reason to leave nummi they basically raped the state of california and their workers reaping millions of tax dollars during their stay and now texas is bending over for them wake up america make big corporations accountable spend your dollars smarter

  • @597914 "toyota had no reason to leave nummi" Actually there was PLENTY of reason. Don't forget that GM did the same thing by closing that plant down. It was toyotas idea with a partnership with GM to reopen and retrofit it. They did and estimate that it would cost them 500$ EXTRA to build a car in a numi plant than it would to build one in texas. Multiply that by the thousands they produce and the economic impact is severe. Theri supply chains are also alot closer down south than the west coast

  • @EpiDemic117 so you believe toyota's estimates. I'm sure they DID get a big insentive to move to texas, but don't believe for a second that they moved to give their customer's a $500 discount! they were making huge profits in CA and were the #1 seller there. GM only had a 20% stake in NUMMI. Toyota left to postion themselves for one reason, to pay their workers less. And if you think that is good for you or our country then you don't get it.

  • @597914 "so you believe toyota's estimates." Of course I do. And that on to the costs of the UAW eating them alive and it's to damn much for a car. It's not even Toyotas fault that GM backed out. to pay their workers less. GM wouldn't give a shit about their workers either and the UAW is filled with Crooks. I think that was actually a smarter decision for them to move it back down to Texas. And don't be thinking that Toyota doesn't pay their employees. They to get medical and other benefits.

  • @EpiDemic117 It's clear your opinion of the UAW is based in misinformation and sterotypes. You are right, GM and most corporations don't give a shit about their employees. That is clear by the constant struggle by the UAW to enforce GM's own contract and provide their workers with safey working condiditions. the people who hate unions are the ones who have benefitted the most by what was won by unions.

  • @597914 "It's clear your opinion of the UAW is based in misinformation and sterotypes" And it's clear The UAW's opinion on Toyota and other Asian manufactures are based upon that as well. I know that right now the UAW's state and the way it's being managed is complete shit. That vid i already linked showed some of the UAW employees frustrated. And their last president was corrupt as all hell. their new one Bob king is no fucking different.

  • @EpiDemic117 You make braod statements with no facts to back them up. What IS the UAW's opinion of Toyota? Exactly how was Gettelfinger and now Bob King corrupt? You've never even met either or talked to them or know anything about the UAW except what you've heard from those who have an agenda. The UAW is about human and civil rights and working with corporations. It benefits them zero to be what you claim.

  • @EpiDemic117 A lot of UAW members are frustrated right now, but what do you want the UAW to do...tell their membership to reject every contract at the expense of the comapany and the membership? The UAW is the membership and it is time the membership stood together making world class competitive products instead of burning bridges. That is Bob King's focus? You have a problem with that? I don't think you know King's stand or his direction at all.

  • @597914 and aside from making economic growth with higher GDP output for the US. Toyota does that everyday. now they make the most "american" cars here. Ford and GM had to outsource because of the UAW was eating them alive. If you look at the current Camry toyota is making. 80% of the parts in that thing were designed and made here in the states. You CANNOT argue with that. it's a full American product with only an import name. and Honda was the first Japanese company to do this as well.

  • @EpiDemic117 No I won't argue that but it is still a fact the the majority of foreign cars, even those made here are, on average only 30% domestic. US built cars are still on average 67% domestic with some of those surpassing the 80% of the Camery as you say and US companies spend more $ in the US in R&D, almost twice as much and buy 3 x more US steel, semiconductors and rubber

  • @EpiDemic117 You cite Toyota and Honda provide American jobs and they take as many workers to build their cars as US car makers, REMEMBER that fact because: GM employes more than Toyota and Honda combined. The Big 3 employ nearly twice as many as ALL foreign makers combined, Why because the Big 3 do most of their assembly and R&D HERE.

  • @597914 "GM employes more than Toyota and Honda combined." Even if they do or did, could all those people easily keep their jobs? Especially for how many plants GM closed down already, Obviously something was out of shape or highly mismanaged as we all know which cause their downfall until they were resurrected by obamas socialist bailout.

  • @EpiDemic117 people like to cite that foreign cars are "more American" than American cars. Thats not a fair statement. American cars have twice as much(67%) domestic content on average than ANY foreign maker's cars. There is a difference between MADE in America and ASSEMBLED in America. Toyota averages just over 30% domestic and Honda only 55% . US makers spend $50 billion more on supplier parts HERE in the US. You CANNOT argue with that.

  • @EpiDemic117 So I bet you believe that the sticking gas pedal was a hoax also, so then it is right to assume ONLY Toyota drivers don't know the gas pedal from the brake? Do you know that Toyota has a 5 yr plan to reduce their worker's pay and benefits. America works best when workers are paid more, they spend more and our economy is stronger. How with your logic, other than big Corporations, do we have/get a higher standard of living?

  • @EpiDemic117 The UAW isn't eating anyone alive. The myth that the UAW is lasy and unskilled is perpetuated by those who have not walked in today's factories. That sterotype no longer fits today's lean manufacturing. The UAW wants to be the workforce of choice for auto companies and is competeing in places like Toledo where their plant is the GM template for Safety, Quality and Cost. Their trans. are the WORLD'S best and for less. Your view is not fair to the hard workers there.

  • @EpiDemic117 Our UAW local signed an agreement with management to work together to resolve any differences for the betterment of the company and people so we could survive these times. But the interesting part is this was all done in1983! That is why we have won several productivity awards and surpassed Toyota's quality. Our warrenty returns on the new 6 speed is virtually nonexistant. GM invested 1 billion in 07 here in the US (Toledo) BECAUSE we are the best and we make them lots of money.

  • @597914 "That is why we have won several productivity awards and surpassed Toyota's quality" On the GM side? Toyota is still ahead of GM in terms of vehicle quality and Honda and subaru TOPS them ALL.

  • @597914 I'm in a union to BTW. But unlike other people, I know good unions from bad ones. Just look at that moron currently in charge of the UAW bob king. This fucker promoted the idea of posting signs in all the little union meeting has saying "No foreign vehicles and bikes allowed, Only GM ford, Dodge, jeep and Chrysler vehicles permitted." They even tried to tow away a journalists Camry. That is PATHETIC and shows their ignorance and desperation. It's also Racist as well so fuck the UAW.

  • @597914 I do feel bad for those who lost their jobs and Nummi. But does the UAW honestly care? You bet your ass they don't. They took a big chunk for themselves that they could of given to those hard workers. Toyota tried giving them some packages for retirement.

  • @EpiDemic117 Of course the UAW cares, but they don't hire or fire or layoff people. The corporation does. What exactly is the big chunk the UAW took from their workers? How nice of Toyota to repay their award winning quality work with a "see you later" ...your belief that good work is rewarded is a lie that you chose to swallow proven by Toyota's departure. That plant was a cash cow for them and it wasn't enough. They will continue to leave their workers for more profits.

  • @597914 "but they don't hire or fire or layoff people"

just watch this to truly understand

The UAW doesn't give a shit. They just pocket what they can.

    watch?v=B3yxVuLi2Sk

  • @597914 How is gettlefinger corrupt? HOW THE HELL IS HE NOT CORRUPT? Just google his name and there will most likely be an article on his corruption. That piece of shit fucker pocketed MILLIONS from the bailout. He doesn't give a shit about other members of the UAW. Same with King. And not only that but king was also stating about bullying companies under contract for not giving the right labor quality if they don't pay such a high ass amount. If i had a company, why would I go UAW?

  • @EpiDemic117 Obviously you know nothing about Gettlefinger or Bob King or the UAW. To make a statement that Gettlefinger pocketed MILLIONS from the bailout is not only absurd it's a lie. The UAW isn't asking anything from any company right now! That is a joke! The UAW is in no position to bargain, let alone bully, for anything except keeping their members jobs. Your post is a cheap try at posting lies about the UAW! What exactrly are they bullying? give me FACTS! You are talking out ur ass

  • @597914 The UAW would be FAR better off if they were run more realistically instead of demanding shit from some companies that cannot float. Perhaps they are spoiled? This has nothing to do with the workers on the assembly floor BTW, I'm talking about the big shots up on top.

  • @597914 and I know EXACTLY what cause the two automakers failure.

    1. Was their HORRIBLE management, the CEO barely did SHIT for the company as well being down the line. Compare an average salary of a GM exec compared to your average Toyota or Honda Exec, You'll notice right off the that that the honda an toyota exec isn't a bloated pig that sits on top while his empire falls.

Almost every exec from Honda was a past engineer working for the company. Now you know why their engineering is better

  • @EpiDemic117 No you are saying that Toyota's engeneering is better. Obviously you know nothing about their engineers either. Toyaota has been pulling the wool over America's eyes for a long time. Their designs and engineering are bascially unchanged for 10 years! And have been riding the accelerator problem for that long! Your mind is made up because it is blind to the truth.

  • @597914 "Toyota's engeneering is better." Of COURSE they are. They didn't earn their rep by selling their customers junk did they?

"Their designs and engineering are basically unchanged for 10 years! " I BEG to differ, Many of the newer Toyotas today are NOT the ones they were in 01-02. They have drastically improved in power, fuel efficiency, reliability, and safety.

  • not to be a dick but how does 2/3 and 1/4 make 100% or 3/3- 4/4 = 1

  • Toyota doesn't need California workers??????? We don't need Toyota Cars...BOYCOTT Toyota for shutting down NUMMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • bye bye NUMMI
