has just a lil bit better response.not huge tho. would you rather have all the compressed air stop, travel about 6ft and then get ejected, or have it all be ejected right then and there where the throttle closes? plus, theres about a foot and a half of compressed air in the pipes behind the bov that hits the turbo. with it on the cold side...0 compressor surge. i had mine on the hot side for a while till i realized it was surgin a bit.

with the 240 hoods they weight alot. the c/f hoods only weight about 10 to 12 pounds. but im goin to get rid of the whole pop up to save weigth and go with the silvia s13 front. i still have to take out the sound deadning and a few other things to help make it lighter.

CF hood on many cars is equal in weight and sometimes greater than factory, like the subaru wrx and sti... where the CF hood weighs more than the factory. a CF hood is a visual mod, not performance, unless you have let's say a 79 camaro, where the hood is 6ft long and weighs like 60-70 pounds
