  • Love how the top comments are the same exact thing. >:\

  • @funandthegamemaster

    yeah it is depressing

  • @rvistaworkbench But now they're different.

  • I used to have an A500 with the add-on of the A590 Hard-drive. My A590 had a whopping 20 Megabyte SCSI hard-drive in it. I had an extra 1 megabyte of memory plugged into the A590 memory sockets to bring my Amiga 500 up to 2 megabytes of memory. I later expanded my storage space by adding on the SCSI version of the iOmega 100MB zipdrive.

  • I am a stegosaurus.

  • id like to see a person from this time, thrown in to our time :S

  • 1 MEGABYTE no fucking way!

  • @The1AndOnlySHaDoWZz haha good one ;)

  • 1 FULL MEGABYTE?! The future is here!

  • @owner876 I KNOW RIGHT!? WHERE CAN I GET ONE :D!?!?

  • never liked this add, put the fuking heavy monitor in the top of the amiga!!

  • 0:43 Faery Tale Adventure! Best game for the era. The start of all RPG's! Massive for it's time!

  • I remember playing Dogs of War on the Amiga 500. The little bad guys exploded in violent gouts of gore and you had 100 weapons to choose from including a mini gun !!

  • Them computers was bad ass back then

  • High Resolution! :3 LOL!

  • 512 thousand bytes of pure power! EXPENDABLE TO 1 FULL MEGABYTE

  • Ha ea and activation going at it

  • I raised with amiga!!! Thank you dad :DDD

  • the perfect device to play mw3 on.

  • @ravenstone4

If you'd ever want to play a dull game such as that, more power to you.

  • damn, i have to get it !

  • amiga the best games console ever!!

  • If I saw this when I had my Atari STe I'd plunge into depression...

  • @mavlok

Ditto! That's why I needed up jumping ship and selling my ST (FM) to buy an A500 ... damn they were good days!

Used to love making music on my Amiga using a great programme called MEDplayer - one of my tunes actually featured as "Tune of The Month" on the cover disc of Mac Format one month!

Just thinking of scouring Amiga magazines and ordering public domain discs then waiting for them to be delivered brings back such good memories.

    The good old days ...

  • 1 mega-bite.HA HA HA HA!Try a terra-byte and a half!

  • OMG 512 bytes EXPANDABLE TO A 1 Megabyte OMG THAT'S SO GOOD

  • quiet-est commercial evr :)

  • @twilight9202 check the top comments you have to watch in 240p for sound... ive never had that happen in a youtube video before where the sound is gone in higher quality formats lol wierd

  • Comment removed

  • @MasSergioVEVO ~ amiga was amazin' 4 it's time ~ eh ? esp w/ audio :)

  • @twilight9202 lmfao i thuaght it was funny how this promo starts to turn into a porno when the guy starts saying "what really turns me(the computer) on(then says some program name)" I thaught only the power button could turn a computer on or off...haha..

  • Comment removed

  • "It's desktop publishing that really turns me on."

  • Jeez, I bet this thing cost an arm & a leg and a bit more.

My 2010 $500 computer can't do half of those things.

I find this computer fairly impressive for 1987..

  • Welcome to stone age! Only 24 years ago!

  • @EugenKaalikas Back then the Amiga was better than pc.

  • @edstar83 Ford was also better than Mercedes because Mercedes wasn't invented yet!

    Get the point?

  • @EugenKaalikas Uh, PC is older than amiga by 4 years.

Technology wise it's more like 20 years older. TTL chips everywhere, eww.

  • @edstar83 If pc wasn't invented yet, I wouldn't of made that comment mate. Amiga was better than Pc at the time. Way better graphics for one.

  • I don't understand why there are any dislikes, probably some pesky atari st owners

  • Hey! Isn't that Duke Nukem talking? Seriously?

  • at 8:42 well guess they used this computer to fake the moon landing OHHHHHHH!

  • Commodore very better than Apple, pity that they didnt had a good ceo like steve jobs

  • I was very close to buying an Atari 520ST when I saw the Amiga (specifically Deluxe Paint) and saved a little bit more. Thank God I didn't see this video first, though! [shudder]

  • I am a chipset, and I won't talk.

  • Lol I typed in dark days and this came up xD

  • Kylie Mole would have loved this. Suffer chronically Amanda!

  • 240p for sound

  • @thedarkdragon735 Cheers mate.

  • @sevensixtwomm your welcome :P

  • @thedarkdragon735 thanks, weird it works, but why?

  • @rtv05 youtube keep 3 copies of every video, low quality, medium and high. theres clearly a problem with the high quality video file

  • i want that mouse!!! :D

  • I am an Amiga and I will steal your heart.

  • @MattLoaf92 Just hook it up to a tv via the RCA video and audio cables ;-)

  • Anyone here actually own one of these?

I own the Amiga A500 Plus with tonnes of games. I don't have a screen to use with it though =[

  • This computer was completely revolutionary for its time.

Remember that at that time PCs were equipped with slow 8086, had a 4 colours CGA display with beep based sounds. And PCs cost twice as much as the Amiga...

Sadly the Amiga pretty much stagnated while PCs were evolving at a steady rate. At some point in the 90's, probably around 1995, PCs finally outpaced the Amiga.

  • my dad has one of thoose :)

  • Amazing device for its time......I had the A500 and the A500Plus

  • No audio?

  • @arclight2012 change to 240p

  • But will it blend?

  • @Stiny114 It'll slice, it'll dice - it'll chop your fing hands off! Amiga forever, still running an A1200 online!

  • wish Commodore was still around, it would decimate windows, and that's cause im 17 raised on windows 98-vista, yet this could decimate that!

  • ONE MEGABYTE!

  • yes 1MB stop saying it like it was crap! back then it was quality give it 20 years and people with their 1TB RAM machines will be laughing at our 1GB RAM machines!

  • @suttydcfc1 I am already laughing at your 1gb ram machine and it's just 1week in the future

  • @suttydcfc1 I'm already laughing at your machine, and it doesnt sound like a 20 y future to me.

  • Sound only on 240p resolution.

  • 1 Megabyte? That's insane!! Lol I love computers

  • @Mattboy300

Why insane ??? It was perfect for its time!

    I have 3 Amiga 1200 !

In one 256 MB IBM ECC RAM ! Insane ??

  • @winhate Why do you have 3 of the same computer?

  • Atari lost out because it was inferior to Amiga and also because Atari decided to put all its cards on their Jaguar console which flopped. I'm not quite sure though why Amiga lost out given that it was the unrivaled home computer. It's kind of strange that one day suddenly those old cardboard box-styled PC:s took over...

  • Sadly Commodore didn't keep up with the times. Apple and Silicon Graphics slowly overtook them on the photo editing and 3D rendering side, and both smartly made many deals with Hollywood studios.

On the application side IBM kept increasing their processor speeds while Motorola started lagging and couldn't keep up adequate production of the 040, 050 and 060 processors for both Apple and Commodore.

And then of course the VGA cards with hardware 3D rendering I think that was the final straw. :/

  • @megamarsvin

    68050 :D :D This is joke :D

  • @winhate uhh oops lol.. I forgot we skipped that one xD

  • The Amiga was the best system. I used mine for years and years too. It was so innovative. It had the best sound processor too... Too bad it ended like it did, those systems really deserved to last and we would have a alternative to Microsucks and Jobs's fashion products today...

  • holly shit :D

  • apple created a computer in 1984 who can draw "hello"

microsoft created an operating system in 1984 who can crash

commodore created a computer in 1987 that do more than our computers

  • Didn't realise how much this can do.

  • Goddamnit, I'm 13 FUCKING YEARS OLD and I HATE the current time! What the fuck is it with all this bullshit like gay ass Justin Bieber or all this crap! I bet I'd like it MUCH better living in the 80's or 90's! My fucking stupid Windows vista cannot even do half the shit The Amiga does. I hate my life. Knowing that in 15 or 20 years that I won't be able to look back on these days and say "Man, those were good times." I hate new music, new shitty stuff on tv, and that other shit they think's good

  • @BluestreakPictures Why do I have to live like this? I am pretty sure there are millions of people my age who feel the same way. 2012-onwards probably will get worse. And not just like pop culture and stuff, the world is going to get worse, too.

I swear to God that if the world ends in 2012, I'M GONNA BE FUCKIN PISSED!!!!

  • @BluestreakPictures And I want answers about this too! *not a rhetorical question*

  • @BluestreakPictures I here you dude, I'm 13 as well, longing for the virtual time machine.

  • @BluestreakPictures 23 here. Yes, imo the 90s where a much better place to live than the present. And when I was 13 (1999), I felt living in the 80s would've been awesome.

So your theory is correct, and shit is getting worse.

  • @FenkRubba Life n the 80's was rad - fat skateboards- good music -stubbies and singlets -long hair- l&p-longer hotter summers - more relaxed life stylz and the commodore 64/amiga500 . *sigh* lucky i can even remember now im too fat n balding .

  • My bullshitt 2006 Windows Vista can't even do all that stuff?

    Seriously, what the hell?

  • Expandable to ONE FULL MEGABYTE of internal memory. Oh fuck yes, you heard me.

  • @alexmortland atleast it never bottlenecks or lags during multitasking .

say that to your 24 gigabyte machine

  • PC with DOS is not bad, come on, you had all the power a command line OS gives you

  • Yes, 1 Meg, that's all it needed to be amazing!

  • THE SPIRIT OF AMIGA IS STILL GOING STRONG !!!!...

  • Jeeze.. now that's a commercial. I wanna go back in time and tell pop 'get me that instead of the Atari' lol

  • Hah, this puts Crysis graphics to shame.

  • hahaha, at 5:40 ! Just hilarious!! Keyboard performer !

  • ONE FULL MEGABYTE? HOLY SHIT.

  • cause it's to oldschool ;)

  • nice commercial...

why is there no sound in 360p????

    Youtube glitch probably

  • good commercial!

  • @Cujucuyo

I serious doubt you could even GET those games installed on there (a WHOPPING 1MB of memory!!), let alone play them, at the same time.

  • Guess what? We got fucking Windows 7 (eventually 8). So not exactly, but in those days it was a kickass computer, so shut the hell up (myself).

  • That was awesome.... I would change my quad-core for Amiga 500....

  • I tought it was "The amiga 500 porno video".

  • Can it run Prototype?

  • Why the fuck is there a pic of a monkey there? lol

  • Wow. I got one of these for my 8th birthday, complete with the modem and a panasonic dot matrix printer. I was the first person I knew who had a computer by at least 3 years.

Also, I feel very, very old now. :P

  • Expandable to a Whopping 1 MEGABYTE of memory!!!! ROTF-LMAO

WOW I remember those days very well!!

  • Remember the optical mouse? man wayyy ahead of it's time. Amiga.

  • no porn?

  • @zacker2000 O___o

  • The gaming segment seems to be missing on this one. This came with my Amiga 500, on a VHS. I loved that machine. Still works though, but the monitor doesn't. And what the hell kind of monitor will take that plug anyway, and with the sound as well. Too bad. *hugs emulator*

  • @CTyler84 I bought the emulator haha, but it just isn't the same, Im on the lookout to buy one off someone.

  • this deep manly voice does NOT fit something called "amiga"

  • This was my first computer, when i bought it i had the memory expanded from 500kb to a whopping 1meg, but it utilised that 1 meg very well...i wish i still had it...

  • it was ahead of its time

  • 1 MB of Memory!

  • I am the MIGHTY Motorla 68thousand microprocessor :-D

  • HAHA First I red the videos name as The Amiga 500 porno video :DDD

  • brings on the tears, had the A500 back in the day... recently bought 500, 600 and 1200 ;)

  • lol @ "16 shades of grey".. I miss the old times sometimes.. The days you had to wait 5 minutes for a picture to render without going berzerk at the keyboard..

  • but you could DO alot more , with less, people have forgot just how much we waste

now imagine that little computer today with a GIG, its the same machine where the pc in 1987 .. transport that today.. and curve the amiga it stays the same that old pc with 4 colours if you were lucky beep beep sound effects..

  • i still have this plugged in right next to my xbox360 and ps3 :) new zeland story is the best!

  • 1:49 L Ron Hubbard in a wig

  • on is days AMIGA 500 was the best and when the AMIGA1200 came out it was amazing, our PC'S only equalize the AMIGA when the Pentium3 came out in early 2000's and remember the workbench (amiga OS) already exists for a long time when the 1st windows came out ...

  • 0:49 early prototype of gman?

  • today we gut so much better computers. but things were more fun 30 years ago.

  • I used to have an Amiga 500 what a machine it was! However you have to LOL at this commercial - "I am expandable to 1 full meg"!! How technology moves on. What could you do with 1 meg nowadays? My phone has 80 mb, with a 2 gig card. 1 meg!!!! Ah, those were the days. ps. Was the 500 REALLY designed to have a big, heavy monitor plonked on top of it??????/

  • i love watching old commercials

  • Um, your description is wrong... The Macintosh GUI was released in 1984

  • @OpenEffectStudios Except it came out on the Lisa first then refined on the NeXT computer

  • @exposed97 - 1980s = last great decade in America.

  • MADE BY Bill Gates;

  • i bet it could run Minecraft...

  • I loved my Amiga 500...I washed so many cars to get one. lol

  • Amiga is true pixel art!

  • OMG 1MB of ram hell yea!!

  • whats the point of uploading this without sound

  • @1488slav change to 240p and you will get sound

  • it sounds so badass lol

  • I want the sculpting 3D thing

  • I want one

  • No sound? READ THE TOP COMMENT GOD DAMN IT!

  • where's the sound?

  • lololol i cant believe people thought these could take over the world......oh wait

  • Comment removed

  • that one sexy computer

  • sound?

  • 0:44 to 1:03 :D FFS x)

  • Wow - this is what I call a software lineup. It makes me wanna go out an buy everything in this ad ;-)

Amazingly they don't even mention Multitasking. I guess this word wasn't even invented back then...

  • Damn! They should have killed Microsoft and Apple with this!

  • modem? play games online? in 1987? WTF?

  • i does more than a ipad.....

  • @Athrunwong like what?

  • @Athrunwong of course . New computers actually don't do ANYTHING more than old ones .

  • @Athrunwong Nice grammar, faggot.

  • @Athrunwong

Yeah, but this thing is old. the new stuff is better. and this thing is complicated, it's like you can't use it at all. BUT I LOVE THE AMIGA. Too bad its no more :(

  • Funny thing is it would still blow away any windows or apple box today, and play a sonata in the background while it was doing it. Way to go gates and jobs.

  • play games online? oh in that case i'll just install wow then.

  • Now I really want an amiga!!

  • this video proves computers didn't advanced that much :-)

  • 4096 colours!!! HELL YEA!!

  • @jwintoox At the time, high end PC's could show 16 colors. Most could only show 4, though. ;)

  • The Amiga's blew everything away back then... God I loved hacking with it back then.

  • This was my first computer. :)

    Ah... I miss the 80s.

I wish the Amiga 500 would fuck me hard. <3

  • Blow all that get sensible and settlers on !!!!!

  • at 1987 1mb sounded like 10 terabytes now

  • Nowadays it sounds insane to edit videos having only 1/2048GB RAM, 7/1000GHz CPU, and no hard drive at all.

But when you use two good VCR devices instead of decoding audio nor video streams it is far enough to add subtitles and other simple graphics effects (a bit like OSD), freeze frames, stretch time line.

Of course it was much more complicated to use and more expensive (comparing to salaries) than latest PC/Apple with up to date Creative Suite software. But it was possible.

  • It seems so cute! The whole era!!!

  • lol 1mb ( 0:48 )

    i love commodore

  • 2:20... KATHY IRELAND!!!!

  • Good old times.

  • If only Commodore would not gone bankrupt...
