The fire dept in our city uses the siren on the station no matter what time of day. and @iowa, you ever think that three trucks leaving at the same time would cause problems? Not to mention, 3 trucks may not be needed. Here, one goes and the other is on standby if needed.

wow this is sad... u guys have one of the slowest response times.. it takes my uncles ladder company 4 mins from the beginning of the call for every1 to get to the station and then drive 10 miles outside of town to the first drop of water on the fire..,. 4 mins.... it took these nubs 4 mins to get the last truck out of the station...
@IowaStormspotter wow your uncles station? I'm sorry I didn't realize that we should be listening to someone with no fire fighting experience. there are plenty of factors as to why it took so long for them to leave. so get a life instead of harassing the Fire Fighters because they obviously have more balls than you.
@IowaStormspotter, dude your a complete asshole, you have no respect to those that volunteer, guess what alot of depts including min actually have to wait for 3 minutes for people to show up b4 you can pull out, or unless you have a full rig, after 3 min, you pull out with what you got. So shut the hell up, you have no clue.
@IowaStormspotter get off our asses you jackass. honestly, stop being a tool and talking out of your ass because you don't know jack shit about firefighting.
@Firechief7510 what electric got to with anything they need new air compressors I have never liked and will never the 21 inch grover stuttertone airhorn 24 inch is better
I asked this once before: are you sure it is called "Ladder" 7 and not "Tower" or "Aerial" 7? Perhaps even "Ladder Tower" 7? Technically, this is not a "Ladder". Just curious.
Yes this is a Volunteer Dept. The Engine 8 is the First truck out to respond to all calls. Then Ladder 7 and then Engine 9.My dad retired from this dept after 25yrs and now my Younger Brother is on he is the one in the Command seat running the horn n siren of Engine 9.
pointless use of sirens. there was no traffic.

Impossible. They'd have to be going over 120 miles an hours to travel 10 miles in 4 minutes. Your numbers don't add up. Get a life.

Is that the Fire siren on top of the tower?
crazywarriorman 2 years ago
Yes the sirn is only used during the day and may be discontinued altogether. it really has no purpose except to warn the public to watch out.
Firechief7510 1 year ago
Don't you sound it for weather warnings?

More than 3 minutes for third truck out on a volunteer fire department. I thinks that's pretty good for a rural area.
