  • With utmost respect to the victims of those accidents...rail travel is still one of the safest transport systems around.

  • shut up Prime 4571 you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. My dad was on that train and you can get ...

  • 44 Men, 37 Women and 2 Children. Crazy. All because you have to keep the voters happy in the Blue Mountains and make sure the train gets to Sydney on time.

  • @Prime4571 Even for Youtube comments, that was truly fucking dumb

  • @Prime4571 Prime is likely referring to comments made in the 1997 (?) telemovie documenting the accident, "The Day of the Roses". One of the beaurecrat type characters comes out with those remarks. It is likely however that they reflect sentiment expressed in the actual coronial enquiry into the disaster.

  • what year was this??

  • The video documentry came out around 1997 and is titled Great Australian Disasters of the 20th Century. Footage is from the Canberra: National Film and Sound Archive.

The train crashes range from the Richmond disaster in July 1910 to the

Granville disaster that happened in January 1977.

  • excellent footage!
