The Bible says repeatedly that you don't have free will: Jeremiah 10:23, Acts 13:48, Rom 8:29-30 Rom9:11-22 Eph.1:4-5, 2Th.2:11-12, 2Tim1.9, Jude 4. God also violates free will himself many times by hardening people's hearts and making armies easier to be killed. The idea of free will is a relatively new construct created to construct a theodicy.

@ChaoticRupture Lots of people in the bible ask God for his favor in battle and he gives it to them. Joshua kills everyone in a whole bunch of cities in Joshua 10:28-42. I'm not sure how Joshua manages this without God making them easy to kill or controlling Joshua by giving him all the right moves in combat. Samson kills 1000 men with armor and swords using only the jawbone of a donkey! I don't care how strong you are, there is some free will interference there.

Angels had free will, and assumingly some would have always stayed faithful to God. Why didn't God make us like them? If Heaven is perfect, then do we lose free will when we go there? They did really see these beings. That doesn't mean that they are what people think they are, but they did see them. Jesus on the other hand proved he was God by doing miracles. Well in Psalm 147:5 it says that God's understanding has no limits. Notice it doesn't say anything about "space-time", or any other achilees heel. In Psalm 139, it says that God knows us intimately.

If God knows the end game, how can he give us free will? God's a bit like an author who writes a book (life) and creates many characters (us). Now do these characters have the option to choose to do anything other that what the author writes down?

Having the book, after the fact, you know how it ends. But that doesn't mean the people who wrote the book didn't freely write it. @cysticboy28 Since God is beyond space-time, "foreknowledge" isn't the proper term to use in regards to "god's knowledge." "Before" or "after" wouldn't apply beyond space-time. Neither would classical logic's principle of non-contradiction, which specifies time: "at the same time and in the same respect." So basically God could know everything yet still not know (it's not contradictory beyond space-time), and may even intervene despite our free will. With God, 1st cause is our now: eternally.
