I know a lot of people do it, but getting free music ANY WAY without a licence or owner's permission is ILLEGAL! The record company's can charge as much as $1,000's of dollars for EACH DOWNLOAD! It's still not legal to download off of a video that USES A COPY-RIGHT PROTECTED song.

Just download DVDVideoSoft Free Studio and EVERYTHING you could ever need to convert any video or mp3 or rip music from youtbe is in that free package. Best I've used so far. It even has a video flip that comes in handy for those youtube videos that are sideways or upside down for some reason. Great free software!

By far the only worthwhile video on how to get the videos downloaded from YouTube. The Mozilla add on has been updated since then but works the same way as explained in the video. Media Convert even offers a separate free download to convert instead of using the webpage. Thanks

I think is hilarious how people get viruses from limewire. ALL you need to pay attention to is the size of the file. If theres a bunch of 5.35-5.39 and then one random file with 10.23... its likely a virus.

To download the youtube video, after installing the addon there should be an icon directly above your system tray. Click that.

For after converting the video to a .mp3, there will be a green icon below the adds, click the link to the right of that.

Hey Keewee, 1st- I want to thank you for showing us how to safely download. I recently have not been able to do it again. I re-downloaded the fast video add-on and still no dice. As it starts to download it goes to 0 bytes downloaded. Do you have any input as to why this is going on? or what needs to be done.

It may have something to do with your antivirus software, make sure that it is allowed to download.

Also make sure the download isnt paused- ive done that a few times ;)

last suggestion I have is to minimize your internet usage while downloading, if you have a slow connection that may be it.

see if any of those help.

if you choose to save it to the desktop yes. it won't make a desktop icon if you save it in a folder somewhere, and you can always move the desktop shortcut somewhere else.

Yes it works for videos, just convert it to a different format, like .wmv or an mpeg4 (Ipod video).
