Yeah we should go to the Moon first. that way if we do go to Mars, and something does not go as planned we will still have a out post (with water, air and other supplies) just in case. Plus it's cheaper to launch from the Moon first and etc.
IMO knowing people are on the Moon would give us a greater connection because still far, they can be monitored and very inspiring which again is IMO very cool.

what type of vehicle is this? i have not heard of it before????
would it have a detrimental effect upon landing, what would happen to the surface and deeper layers???

idk but thats what NASA is calling this type of rocket sent to the moon?
it will hit the moon at 5,600mph to create nothing more than a dust cloud and find some water according to NASA.
