  • this was a great tutorial, you got me from throwing about 65 to about 70 in minutes(tested on speed gun) im having a little bit of trouble finding the zone but thats just because im getting used to the sit, im certain that this will make me a better pitcher, thankyou for the great video

  • everyone relax. As a college baseball coach I'll tell you there are 1000 ways to skin a cat. very few things actually matter. It's about finding what works for you. This obviously works for him. Tall and fall works for others etc etc etc. Same thing with hitting. My advice to young players....absorb as much information as you can and see what works but in the end..be YOU.

  • brutal video

  • Horrible video all around, literally everything was wrong.

  • @codybenton1717 if he's gotten that far in baseball he must be doing something right. If your so good how come your not going anywhere in baseball?

  • dude thanks so much you didnt just help me with my speed and velocit the thing about having glove pointed to the target increase my accurecy i used to put it behind my back

  • @livestrong thank you heaps :) i was originally throwing 71 now ive hit 79 mph

  • also this is the worst mechanics in the slowmotion i have ever seen .... 1 balance point, 2 set the hips towards target, 3 drive with the hips and explode, 4 get ontop of the baseball, 5 finish across your body

  • the part with the halfs...nothing to do with pitching, never push off the mound, pitching is with all core and hip explosion, push your hip towards the plate and explode open, and everyone has their own variations, but do not ever push off the mound. its all in the hips

  • i went from 82 to 86 just by glove hand above my head

  • I throw harder than him and I'm 14 -_-

  • @jesse3493 Okay dearest, you keep thinking that.

  • Your not supposed to sit on a chair

  • i held that thing like an egg and it got smashed lie a son of bitch

  • I'm have yet to be born and I can throw a medicine ball 41,000 mph.

  • this is the biggest pile of buls!#t ive ever seen in my life

  • this is so wrong its not even funny. if you want more velocity try not throwing sidearm

  • @cacer49You do understand sidearm is an arm slot and everybody pretty much throws with the same arm angle. The difference between throwing over the top and side arm is simply trunk tilt.

  • 0:40 It will rotate more if you don't hold the ball with your two fingers apart, my pitching coach has taught me to hold my two fingers together, way more backspin, more speed, more movement.

  • @DeathrashWhiplash stability with your fastball means you can put it anywhere you want to, it isn't good if you don't always know where it's going

  • I was taught from my pitching coach not to sit

  • did you really have to do an outtake within the first five seconds

  • These were the kids that thought they were good at sports in school. And to add on to that, you guys dont know what the fuck your talking about.

  • that was the best kid you could find to demonstrate?!

  • i find it acctually helped my speed but i cant stop throwing side arm now ahah

  • @McNashtty no one cares how fast you throw

  • look at that.....that was like 43 mph

  • @SuperUnicorn12 dude apparently you dont anything about baseball because i had my coach test how fast i can throw and i can throw 55 mph and im only thirteen and that was alot faster than what i can throw

  • They never talk about leading with your hips. Sandy Koufax said the biggest thing for speed is leading with your hips.

  • I'm 14 and throw mid 70s

  • @The4632B so?

  • brains? so you have to be a zombie to pitch?

  • loo at datttttttttt

  • Comment removed

  • nice vid but some people say that you shouldnt rock back for step one....

  • @mmsharkbaseball

Thanks man I will try that

  • Hey I'm a 14 yr. Old kid throwing in the seventies right handed I'm working on being able to pitch left handed to. Does anybody have any tips or advice?

  • @TheRed15Sox

First get your left arm just as strong as your right so do a lot of small weight reps and stretch it a lot. Then start playing catch left handed so it become routine..then all the same mechanics

  • hi

  • too all of you wanna be's out there, im 19 6'8 200lbs and i throw low 90's

  • @OCBKbaseball stfu no one cares

  • the sitting is over stressed, but is important to the pitch speed

  • i can throw in the 70s but my change up will always get u swinging at nothing

  • I'm 14 and I can throw 73

  • @baseballkid146 same here thats about average

  • @baseballkid146 im 12 and can throw about 70 but I have alot of joint problems cause my bones are weak

  • @adem1000000 lies

  • @Aphexx129 nah no lies im an oversized 12 year old, almost bigger than my dad(6,1") im a little skinny and personal about it ,i actually have very weak bones and actualy had to sit out for a month this year cause i strained my arm. Im actually am trying to learn to throw slower till i gain more bone mass(cause its not my muscles cause im actually pretty strong),i wasnt tryin to brag or be a troll or anything, actually thought about putting videos up

  • I thought Kyle was wearing a mini apron at first, then I realized oOoOoOo it's his shorts >:P meh

  • Aroldis Chapman probably watched this.

  • i am chuck norris and i tell the radar gun how fast i throw

  • @gtr1120 wtf is wrong with you?

  • @adamyo24 i <3 you! iwant 8==============D

  • i kicked a squirrel and i liked it

  • i dont think there is an instructional baseball video out there that doesnt have atleast a 1/4 of the likes/disikes bar in the red, u guys need to tone it down a lil. yeh i kno that ur a 12 year old that can throw 100mph in little league so save it. u can learn stuff from these vids even if they rnt all that great, i jst dunno y everyone is an anal princess in the comments about that guys form and whatnot, ffs hes jst tryin to give some tips that we can work on in our mechanics.

  • @gtr1120 WOW UR FUCKEN NASTY ALL UR COMMENTS ARE ABOUT SEX... CHECK IT OUT EVERY COMMENT U TYPE IS ABOUT COCKS.. MAN JUST STAY OFF THE INTERNET U 50 YEAR OLD FAT ASS

  • @gtr1120 nobody is gonna thumbs up your comment cuz that was just weird not funny at all go suck ur dogs dick

  • kinda actually makes sense

  • this guy has no idea what the hell hes talking about

  • I pee faster than he throws

  • the lean back doesnt help acuatally

  • @MrPitcher17 ,no i think its was like 60 or somthing

  • im only 12 and i throw harder then this dude

  • My Taylor Texas team beat the Round Rock Express. So suck it! :D

  • Im from Corpus Christi , Texas ;D

    goodluck.

    pssh

  • Wow he needs to slow that pitch down it was faster than my fastball on steroids

  • this guy is not well

  • doesn't look very fast

  • for one your not supposed to sit very much you only do a minimal amount of sitting so you can put an inside load on your back knee so technically your not even sitting at all its just called an inside load not a sit, and for 2 when you demonstrated your "brains" your supposed to get your glove hand extended not curl it up like you did look at any hard thrower out there they get their glove hand will be extended to create that extra leverage out of your front side or what you call "brains"

  • @OCBKbaseball for one the sitting part he explained is correct .. it generates more push of your back foot which generates more velocity ... 2 + 3 combined because your comment was too long so i didnt read it all

  • @skycan14 never said you weren't supposed to sit, i just said that this dude exaggerates his sitting if you sit too much your ball will be too flat and if you sit too much it takes away from your height and your downward plane. so you only do a minimal amout of "sitting" which is called an inside load on your back knee.

  • @OCBKbaseball on your first point, you can sit as much as you want, great pitchers like nolan ryan and stephen stratsburg both sit very low before pushing off the rubber. For your second point, yes you do extend your glove side arm but you then tuck it under your armpit as you rotate and your arm comes through, another thing manymany many pitchers do. Im not sure why this post^^ got so many likes because it actually has wrong information, the video on this page is correct

  • @XSVPUNKk thats weird because if you do sit too much you will have trouble getting on top of your ball and you dont want to have a flat ball opposed to a ball with downward angle, the reason why those two can sit is because they both throw upwards of 102 mph, read a book one time. and when i say get your glove hand extended it also means tuck it, obviously you do not keep your glove hand extended throughout your whole windup. if your just commenting trying to prove me wrong your pathetic.

  • @OCBKbaseball true but ill take that inch or two lower trajectory and extra speed than the other way around. alright lets look at other pitchers such as Ricky Romero, sits pretty low and only throws low 90's yet made it to the all star game. And thats fair if thats what you meant about the glove side you did not explain yourself. The reason i commented was because people liked your post and will take your teachings into consideration even though theyre wrong. Yes i commented to prove you wrong

  • so others wont use your wrong advice.

  • @OCBKbaseball your a low life who thinks he knows every thing bout pitching you dnt your whole comment was pretty much about how he said it and your glove hand is just for what kinda position is most comfortable and alows you to throw better

  • @SwiifTAssAsSIN1 actually you cannot just have your glove hand wherever you want, your glovehand thumb needs to be turned downwards because thats a stronger position than anything

  • @OCBKbaseball completely wrong...

  • @Coghiller you dont curl your glove side up like that, you get it perpendicular to your target with your thumb down. and why would you sit so far down? it makes your ball flatter and hitters will stroke it on a more consistent basis opposed to a ball with downward angle on it when you do an inside load.

  • Balancing makes no sense. It halts your forward momentum towards the plate and causes you to restart your momentum towards the plate on one leg. Also, sitting at the balance point causes the pitcher to send bulding elastic energy right into the ground instead of towards home plate. Pitching like this will also cause a pitcher to bring their arm into the pitch too early instead of maximizing the velocity the legs and core provide.

  • @rsenzel Hey dude you just sound like some kinda scientist or something cause without balance your whole mechanics get out of whack. People do not listen to this person because he probably has never pitched or even played baseball before. Balance creates a sense of equality( so you can get your arm on top and use your legs at the same time. Without this you will not have control or maximum velocity).

  • @dukeschneider, Round Rock texas is one of the Major Cities in Texas. So I think they'd hire a coach who knows what he's talking about.

  • did u ever here of a wind up

  • the kid demonstrating is a joke he cant even balance

  • gj

  • Dear God!!!!!!!! This pitching coach is awful!!!! I am 20 years old and I can teach better mechanics than that.

  • you increase velocity by having chuck norris for an arm

  • Look at that! its my change up

  • Come on, I'm 14 and I have better mechanics than that guy. He's using mostly his arm to throw and he doesn't have the balance to have a consistent delivery. Look at 1:46, he's wobbling and even after he gains his balance, you can see he's struggling to keep it. Since we are talking about Tim Lincecum, let's talk about his mechanics too. He keeps his balance all the way through his delivery and it allows his to generate the torque he does to throw in the high 90s.

  • @fujiboy15 Actually he's never in a "balanced" position. He's gaining momentum even before the top of his leg lift.

  • Keep your index and middle finger close, not seperated like they show in the video. The wind will get between your fingers on release and generate resistance against velocity if you spread your fingers.

  • oh....come on now...thats my change up.

  • this is one way to pitch that will work for some but others may prefer "tall and fall".

  • @rw5791 you are retarded "tall and fall"? just becasue someone is tall doesn't mean they should just fall down the hill like retard. they still need to use legs and follow through. it is the only was to mke sure you are getting max velocity and accuracy

  • @rainmansteen idiot. Tall and fall has nothing to with height. It simply means keeping the leg straight instead of bending it like this video advocates. Max velocity is only achieved with "tall and fall".How do you think lincecum gets into the mid nineties despite being barely 5'10 .

  • "hes gonna keep that balance" (as hes falling) haha

  • i'm a fetus and i throw a 286mph change up

  • @metabolife ya right thats a lie

  • @gllindsay5 no way i'm serious

  • the only problem is in step 2 if u bring ur leg up for that long the runners are gone

    try slide steppin'

  • @jogo332 actually, he is talkin about pitchin from the windup. the windup is when nobody is on base. if somebody is on base, that is when you side step. this video is about pitchin from a windup and increase your speed. side step is completely different

  • im drunk and i throw up

  • @thebuchaofficial thank you for sharing

  • @rehpotsirhcnimajneb i no how to pitch 87 mph fastball
