  • Legends cars who make history and will forever Highlights....

  • At the end Tiff says "I like power." Well get him in a e30 M3 with a proper engine and 400 HP in

  • its enough power when your begining to learn!

(i have one and i live it)

  • I love my 325i. Only mod is a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. They run around $150 and add around 9hp in the six-cylinder E30s and a bit less in the 318. That's the best value per HP gain... A good value for the extra oomph. General HP increases are shown:

    E30 series: 6.0-13.4hp gain

    E36 series: 5.5-12hp gain

    E46 series: 6.0-13.9hp gain

    E92 series: 8.5+ hp gain

    Z3/Z4 (all): 5.5-13.9hp gain

See my channel videos for action!

  • stupid comparisons.....over unique and timeless cars.....i'd take a ride i that bimmer any day.....drift machine!

  • delta is an ultimate rally machine.....everybody else STFU....love the bmw,,, but who could afford a bmw over lancia! ;)

  • Did they seriously just try to compare a Lancia Delta Integrale 8v to an E30 M3? That seems rather unfair to set the standard of all Deltas based on the performance of the 8v.... Why not use the Delta Evo?

  • @koopatroopa187 or the s4 stradale, that wouldve been more fair than this.

  • I'll bet it would be easier to tune the older cars to get more HP out of the engines because of the fact there's no computer or other crap restraining the engine.

  • i love lancia

  • Id take the M3 it's alot better looking and is better for the road. Their performance is so close that it doesn't even make a real difference.

  • si ma nn era la integrale evoluzione..quella del servizio era la 16v gran macchina cmq..

  • Lancia is much cooler

  • @RusiTonkkari77 I take it your retired

  • did someone just say tiff cant drive??

  • damn he can drive

  • Massive understeer in Delta? That man don't know how to drive it...

  • @TheJamescabbage One thing to note: The Delta was made as a rally car. The M3 was made as a circuit car. The problem with this is the fact that the M3 has a natural advantage in that it is racing on a circuit. The Delta would crush the M3 on an off-road challenge.

  • tire technology is probably the biggest advance in lap times.

  • @odortiz what about the steering wheel? bet that helped cornering a ton...

  • God the e30 M3 was beautiful. Such a sharp, crisp car - and timeless. Good old Klaus Luthe, the designer, also designed the NSU Ro80. He was a master of form following function in industrial design.

And imagine these cars - all mechanical and raw. Theyd be so much fun. I miss my poor old e30 323i :-(

  • Did he say straight 4? Dont think a V4 exsists buddy.

  • @seven7thirteen13

it does exist ....its very rare on cars and theyre are mainly used on like lawn mowers and som quads thers others but could be wrong....

  • @foreighnimport91 indeed. the Lancia fulvia has a little v4 engine though, a successful little engine in that car.

  • @seven7thirteen13 a straight 4 means inline 4.

  • @cj4ebay I know exactly what a straight for is thank you. I just found it weird for him to say straight 4 when a V4 doesnt actually exist in a car. I just say 4 cyclinder. No point saying straight 4.

  • @seven7thirteen13

Yeah, but while there arent really any v4s (except for, perhaps, an obscure 90s Subaru if I remember rightly) there are flat 4s as in air cooled VWs and Porsches and modern Subarus.

  • @DoctorBohr check ZAZ-968 :-)

  • @seven7thirteen13 but there could be a boxer or H 4

  • i love both of these :)

  • Lancia Delta is a sexy beast.

  • both are cars for real drivers!!!!!!!

  • i've always wanted to see a dropped lancia delta

  • why, at 1:18 he says that she has only 190hp???

    he is talking about 320is?

so, i'm italian and it may be that i don't understood very well...

is there anybody who can explicate me what does he say?

    tks.

  • @BMWgab It was pretty good for the time it came out the E36 318 is is 140 hp. The E30 M3 was 190 hp

  • @arwidcool ok, now I understood, thanks.

maybe, it says that 1st M3 had 190hp because thay mesure power in hp, but in Italy are 200 (DIN), 196hp, in facts.

    thanks still. ;)

  • Yeah sure their not too much faster than a ford transit but they were great cars back then. Now technology has evolved. They look great Ide buy one. This is like comparing the first doom to Call of duty

  • lancia delta wins.......

  • i'd be happy with either one

  • if this was top gear both cars would of exploded as is written in the script , james may would have got lost deliberately and neither car would have been determined the winner. thats why top gear is shit nowadaes.

  • The two most important things in this video are Queens of the Stone Age, and the BMW M3. =)

  • BM's just a tad dull in this company, bring on the italian madness...

  • Italian Lancia wins on style and kudos ...cuore sportiv

  • *Integrale

  • To all you Fifth Gear bashers out there. Why watch fifth gear content if you don't like it in the first place?! Comment on the video regardless if its fifth gear, top gear, any gear! Only showing your ignorance by posting anti top gear posts.Spoils it for everyone else looking for a sensible debate. Have a nice day and put your toys away when you've finished playing with them. :o)

  • BMW E30 is one of the best cars every made!

  • Both brilliant cars, but the delta is my favourite car of all time and the one I would take home,

    Pure Awesomeness

  • @jarrus464 Me toooooo:)

  • blue smoke from m3 - it likes oil :D

  • @olckulboj and the valves are done....

  • Why does Europe get the good shit lol. I'm considering importing a Lotus Omega to the US once I buy it in Germany (Thanx to the Air Force). The Omega can be imported by the Show and Display exemption. Lucky for me.

  • I have an E30 325i and the only performance item I have is the Signature Motoring performance CAI for about $150. The performance kit adds around 9HP on the dyno, sounds freaking great, and installs in under 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

    -Avg 9 HP increase

    -Lifetime filter

    -SOUND AWESOME

    -30 min. install time

Aside from the power gain, the SOUND is amazing at higher RPM but sounds normal in regular driving. I’m thinking about added high-flow exhaust next.

  • @BMWGirlyGirl Yep, the Signature Motoring intake is the best performance mod for the money.

  • 2 auto fantastiche!!!

  • wow the E30 is such a beauty! true original M3

  • Italian cars are best, style, passion and driver satisfaction, not the fastest, but who

cares when they look so good...Forza Alfa romeo

  • I have a stroker setup in my 325e. I also went with the Signature Motoring performance intake for about $180. Adds around 9HP on the dyno, great sound, and the best performance upgrade for the money.

    -Adds 9-11 HP

    -Never replace filter again (K&N)

    -GREAT SOUND

-Installs in maybe 30-45 min. K&N filter lasts a lifetime.

After that I'd recommend a performance exhaust...

  • m3 or delta integrale?.. I would choose alpina e30 b6 or at least b3 ;)

  • I love the lancia delta

  • god that m3 looks like so much fun

  • whats this twat taking about the E20 had 215 bhp and delta had 210.

  • @antonyr123 u thing that 5hp give sotmhink ? U know what it is Nm ?

  • @antonyr123 Delta 16v has (had) 200hp

  • lose driver omgg loser !!!!!!! 5gear shit loser!!!

  • fucker needs to talk a lot less.

  • go e30! go top gear! i hated this video because it was made by fifteenth gear.

  • Lancia Delta IntegraLE. It's not a Honda

  • It's like Top Gear being hosted by the Stig. Weird.

  • i want both those cars, they are my favourite cars.

    PS top gear rocks :P

  • his driving is awful. if he wouldn't have brought on so much oversteer in the M3 it would have won for sure.

  • Next time take an Evoluzione !

  • both cars are legends but so is tiff needel and the people who say he cant drive cant drive themself -_-" because tiff needel is a superb driver

  • @HylianFury i think tiff needell is one of the best drivers that ever lived... but watch the video again... its like hes not even trying hes not pushin... he cn do better

  • @GioDjurovic hes only not pushing it hard because people own them cars

  • @ToonARMY08 haha makes sense :P didnt think about that haha

  • projectv8music is a stupid prick

  • "this guy cannot drive" projectv8music you are a stupid twat

  • Lancia eats M3 for breakfast we all now that

  • f**k it top gear is better than this.

  • this guy is juss cannot drive an Integrale! that car was one of the best and fastest group B rallyecars next to the s1 quattro and ford rs200.

Lancia is very understeered car if you cannot drive it properly cos of the short and fast drifts whats mostly included in rallye.

  • @ProjectV8music Tiff is a former F1 driver, if he can't drive it then no one can.

  • Comment removed

  • The E30 is so much cooler.

  • lancia delta integrale or s4 the best italy is the best fuck crucchi di merda

  • gotta love tiff always keeps it real

  • Lancia has a fourwheel drive so that bmw dosn`t stand a chance even if it had turbo

  • @snopy107. I thought the M3 would be quicker in the dry as 4WD doesn't make that much difference in the wet. You'd be very surprised how many front/rear wheel drive cars can keep up with 4WD cars in the dry. It'd be a different story if it was wet. The Delta would've been a LOT quicker.

  • @paolov73 I made a mistake. I meant to say that 4WD doesn't make that much difference in the dry, especially with 80's/90's 4WD systems.

  • @paolov73 I wouldn't be. 2 wheel drives can lay the power down quicker off the line. Most 4wd's suffer a power lag. Also, old 4wds had horrible understeery characteristics. I'm also supprised the delta kept up!

M3's have fantastic handling and are up their as my favourite car, but they aint quick anymore.

  • VIVA TOP GEAR

  • Sure it did, but if you took the real Lancia Rally car as you would like to take "the real thing" the Lancia would eat the M3 and you know it!!

These standard Integrale's only had 200BHP, the real deal had triple that amount of BJP and did 0-100km/h in around 3 seconds.

    On gravel.

Don't try to compare a race engine M3 to a roadcar version Integrale. That's not fair and as I alreadt said, if you took both the race/rally versions the Delta would simply smoke the M3!

    :)

  • @vosss3030 so your telling me the Italians had the technology to generate 600bhp back in the 80's on a four cylinder engine???? there's no logic into that at all

  • not in the 80s but they did it in the 90s... the delta s4... 2 liter super and turbo charged engine 550 bhp on a car that weighs 890 kgs... result? 0-100 2.3... :o

  • @GioDjurovic. The Delta S4 was a 1986 car and prototypes had close to 700bhp. That must've been mad :-)

  • @paolov73 haha oops i thought it was in the 90s :P haha still amazing though :) btw are u sure bout the horsepower? cos im pretty sure its 550 :P

  • @GioDjurovic The Rally Cars had about 450-550 bhp as you said but I have heard of one with 1000 bhp which could be just talk though.

  • @halasgil. Yes they did. Lancia were going to introduce a 1.2 16valve turbo engine for racing which had close to 400bhp. It was based on the Fiat twin cam which was going to go into a car similar to an 037/Montecarlo.

  • @Suchtimann Lancia has a turbocharger as stock!!

  • @WHTTJayKay AND BMW NOT !!! GIVE BMW A CHARGER AND LANCIA GOES DOWN !!

    !!

  • The Lancia came stock with a turbo.

But the configs back in the 80's was around 130-200hp depending on the year. in 93 it was 215HP.

But people do upgrade them to output 500-600HP.

  • configs?? im pretty sure that when you buy an integrale 2 it comes turbocharged with 215 bhp... man if you really wanna go crazy look up the lancia delta s4 :O what a car 0-100 2.3 seconds!!! faster than a fuckn bugatti man! 550 bhp and it only weighs 890 KGS! what a car man

  • Yeah its amazing isn't it

  • @madmax2069 There's an integrale for drag use in Greece with 982 bhp at the wheel. :-0

  • i love M3 E30

  • Great cars great driver

  • delta should have toasted m3 . not just a bit .

  • why when the m3 was a race car before it was a road, if that m3 had the sport evo engine in it, it would have wasted the "Rally car" with bouncy castle suspension.

  • @Dave9153 Maybe toasted like you said, but the delta is ugly like hell, who want to travel in this ugly thing?

  • @pifane Completely agree.

  • Wow, that's amazing. What will sport versions of town cars be like in 2030 eh? As fast as the modern M3?

  • Huh? Nothing against the Lancia but I can't imagine that the M3 lost in a fair comparison. This guy must be some sucky driver or something ... oO

  • Tiff Needell once finished 3rd at LeMans, raced in a couple of F1 races so while he may not be Michael Schumacher, he's better than 99.9% of drivers

  • SORRY BUT IS INTEGRALE NOT INTEGRA

  • I think it's just that the title box was not long enough to hold it all...

  • I hate car collectors who keep their rarities in garages just so they become more valuable. Once in a while you just have to do with them what they are made for, everything else is just wrong.

  • That might work if you have a BMW, but if you have a Lancia you have to look after it. I know - I have got several of them and they are fantastic. But they are fragile, and the parts do not grow on trees. You have been warned...

  • If you owned a Lancia you would not say this (I have several). They are wonderful but fragile, and if you break them (which is easy) the parts are an arm and a leg and as rare as hens' teeth!

  • @sidevalve1 Funny you say it, because I drive an Alfa Romeo.

I do not say you should drive those classics until they break down, but hiding them away isn't right either.

  • @captmcneil I feel ya, man. I've got an '86 BMW M6 that is garage kept... but damn right, I take her out on the weekends! I've done a couple track days with her and raced more rice burners than I know what to do with haha Ya GOTTA drive'em man. It's an abomination to nature when they sit in one spot for years and years!

  • @ncn8ochaser hell i just got a 90 bmw m3 last week just like the one in this vid just newer and missing that big ugly rice spoiler :) only 90,000 miles and all the 4 cyl ricers around here envy me.. gotta love the m power

  • @canthony1019 what power? 192 hp according to edmunds. thats no great shakes these days.

  • @minesaver that's what it puts down at the crank completely stock.. but mine had a few little mods to make up for that 40 hp loss through the drive train and a turbo setup should be arriving tomorrow morning. but right now i'm makin 199 at the wheels.. you gotta remember 200 hp on a car this lightweight throws it.. and remember a 190 hp I-6 motor was pretty much unheard of back in the 90's.

  • @canthony1019 think its an In line 4 not a In line 6. e36 was the first m3 with an in line 6 motor

  • @dibnah46 Nope, the e30 was the first with an inline 6 it was first introduced with the m10 motor that's the 4 cylinder that you're talking about.. then came the later model's with the m20 motors. those are the inline 6 motors.. do your research mann..

btw I own a 90 325i and am in the process or rebuilding and boosting right now. i'll post a video if you wan't to see.

  • @canthony1019 sorry my comment was a little vague. i meant the e30 m3 was a 4 cyl. the e30 did have 6 cylinder models but not in the form of an m3. the e36 m3 was the first 6 cyl m sport 3 series. thats what i meant.

  • @dibnah46 still wrong, the e30 m3 was a 2.7 liter inline 6.

  • @canthony1019 where is your info comming from? i would like to see the source. the first e30 m3 was a 2.3 litre s14 engine based on the m10 I4. then later made larger to a 2.5 litre inline 4. the 2.7 was only used in the 325. its ok tho some of us do out research better than others man!!

  • @dibnah46 sorry bro but the 2.5 engine is not a 4 cylinder.. and the full engine name is m20b25 the "b25" at the end of that meaning "bore 2.5" and it's not the m3 motor thats one of the base model motors used in models 88 and up. the m3 motor was the m20b27 motor which was also used in m3's 88 and up.. yes i know they were only used in the 325 models.. and those were the models i was talking about earlier. obviously you were talking about the earlier 3 series bimmers.

  • @canthony1019 you are talking about the e30 m3 arnt you? the 1 in this video?this engine was created by literally cutting two cylinders off the m88 inline six lump. and yes there is a 2.5 is a six cylinder but they did make a 2.5 inline 4 for the e30 m3 towards the end of its production for racing. just type s14 bmw engine into google. the full engine name is s14b23

  • @dibnah46 still wrong, the e30 m3 was a 2.7 liter inline 6. regular models were only 2.5

  • @canthony1019 - your retarded

  • @ncn8ochaser glad to see some people with brains all at once in the same comment thread...lol hard to come by these days on youtube. once my 72 fleetwood is finished being painted and possibly after the new wheels, it will be driven every wednesday and sunday night!

  • @captmcneil i completely agree with you and was just about to post that same statement until i saw you beat me to it....by 7 months but still. if i buy a car, im not going to stow it away to raise the value. im gonna put some sweet lovin' into it (a shit load of money) then im going to do with it what it was meant....DRIVE THE SHIT OUT OF IT!

  • @captmcneil well as a kid dreamt of these cars but when u can finaly afford them and do buy them you are a busy 50yo with a bad spine...etc

  • What season and episode is this video?

  • I have owned both these 80s dream cars and to be honest they are as good as each other I just by inches prefer the Intergrale as it is rare and only the real cool guys actual have owned one ! Nad NC

  • nice cars.....

  • There should be an Sierra Cosworth in this competition.

  • 2WD or 4WD?

  • MKII 4WD :]

  • @gobersiak would lose to integrale :(

  • @gobersiak thats in 90s... not 80s mate

  • @antonyr123 like sierra cosworth MKII :]

  • burning oil at 1:20?

  • Two great cars there, orefer the Lancia though

  • sono entrambe delle bestie...inutile discutere dicendo è meglio la lancia ecc...

  • sono d accordo pienamente con te!!!

  • ITALIAN CAR RLZ ! ! !

  • ahahahah THE LANZIA DELTA INTEGRALI ahahah che fantastico accento inglese!!

  • the suspensions of the delta are damaged but still do win the BMW was the delta of 100% and the colt had no chance

  • Bale is a colossal

  • how can you think the delta looks good im sorry to me its but ugly m3 is beautiful

  • i must admit i tend to masturbate over e30 bm's. i just FUKIN LOVE 'EM!!

  • Great Lancia Delta!

  • crap band

  • Queens Of The Stone Age - No One Knows

  • what is the piece of music?

  • it isn't an integrale..it's just an HF...look the bodywork 'n u will find out the diferences

  • @makispsycho It's an Integrale 16 valve. The Evo's had the wider bodies.

  • it isn't an intergralle..it's just an HF..

  • lancia delta intergrale is the best would kick the M3's ass

  • i have to say that guy didn't know how to drive that lancia it had to be driven flamboy style and absolute flatout into corners to avoid understeering and use scandinavian flick in hairpins

  • lancia would have been stiffer in rallyform

  • lot of body roll @ lancia

  • but it just isnt

  • but it isn't live with it

  • rofl u havent a clue

  • Lancia DI is LEGEND!

  • If Tiff had driven the M3 without sliding the rear end around everywhere then the M3 would have won... and felt much nicer getting there too... and wouldn't fall apart from rusting!

But ya gotta love the Integrale.

  • the integrale didn t rust one bit it was only some of the betas because lancias steel supplyer sold them some ruff steel
