  • nice to see they are ordinary people watchin from a crowd with drink in plastic in their hands:)

  • Is it just me or are yall trying to figure out what Jay & Bee are talking about? Lol

  • @SoccerHunni15 your not alone

  • Guy in front of Jay: "I hate it when Jay-Z stands behind me at Coachella and talks through Grizzly Bear with Beyonce"

  • i bet this made grizzly bear happy.

  • Is this a good thing?

  • where the are they????

  • Beyonce is such a hipsterina..

  • what the hell is grizzly bear?

  • @rayamanelly An amazing indie pop/rock/folk band.

  • @rayamanelly wild animals.

  • beyonce doesnt look like she drinks but i guess she does...

  • HOLY SHIZ! If this was at Williamsburg I was there! OMG HOW DID I MISS JAYONCE'!!!

  • I'm going to say this now; this is really creepy.

  • i just think it's cool they're actually in the crowd, rather then side of stage or in a booth or something

  • Rocking to Ready/Able, the best track from Veckamist!

  • There are niggers, and then there is African Americans.

Jay-Z is an African American, Morgan Freeman is an African American.

    T-Pain, on the other hand...

  • @SpartanM621 wow. thats really racist.

  • @SpartanM621 and...there are stupid people! AKA you

  • @SpartanM621 everyone's calling you racist but I gotta say, I kinda agree. it's like how there's gay people like myself and Neil Patrick Harris, then there are faggots like Richard Simmons and Jefree Star.

  • Did anyone else notice that the dude in the bottom left corner in the ray bans is Dave1 aka David Macklovitch from the band Chromeo????

  • there's a difference between super ghetto black people and black people.

super ghetto people are afraid of what their fellow black people think (they're insecure).

    black people = normal people

NOTE: this was not intended to offend anyone

but this is what black people should try to do. not minimize themselves to certain things because of what others think is "whack". this does not mean get rid of the culture, but more so expand horizons to different experiences.

  • @richzero0 Agree, but this ADVICE applies to ALL not just BLACKS!

  • i wonder if that's the guy from Chromeo right near the camera. Because if it is, that's an awesome tent.

  • @thoughtpoliceDW that was my thought exactly...i'm pretty sure that was him

  • which song is this?????

  • @elefadas29 the song is called "Ready, Able"

  • I'm glad someone caught them though, because it's just cool to see "celebs" just being themselves.

  • Black and I love Grizzly Bear. Race is irrelevant of musical taste.

  • @TheCreativeify same here!

  • way to put on a show ghetto people..............way to put on a show

  • @frankixbox You're a fucking racist idiot. "Ghetto people"? oh please. Jay Z is black so he's a ghetto person? Secondly, he didn't even know he was being filmed. He was actually enjoying it you fucking moron. You're just what indie music needs, another ignorant,close-minded son of a bitch fan. In case you hadn't realized most people don't fit into their stereotypes anymore. Just look at the lead singer of Grizzly Bear, he's gay, does he fit your ignorant idea too?

  • @TheCreativeify all i gotta say jay z grew up in the ghetto soooo yea and i dont even like grizzly bear the only song i like from them is two weeks calm down shit im no hipster but i do believe that most black people act a certain way and thats not racist thats a belief listen i was at lunch listening to foals and i had my headphones up loud and there was a table of all blacks behind me they heard the music and started calling me gay and a white ass now thats ignorant calm the fuck down its true

  • @frankixbox a group of stupid black guys did that to you and now you're prejudice? that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard. i'm sure white people have treated you badly at times too. grow the hell up and don't be so closeminded.

  • @TheCreativeify oh no its not just that group that was one example im sorry but you seem too stupid and bias to understand the point im trying to make and that is that a majority of black people dont like indie music and that is the truth and generally black people do display a distinct pattern of behavior and this pattern does not include the messages and feelings that are displayed in general indie music have you seen BET to be honest i dont watch it but ive never heard of indie being on it

  • @frankixbox a guy in crystal antlers is black, pretty girls make graves, lightspeed champion, Tv on the radio, the dears.....dude i could go on. plus, indie originates from blues and incredible BLACK rockers like jimi hendrix. so fuck off, yeah?

  • @TheCreativeify first rock and now indie as well? weird since all intsruments used in those genres were created by white people and how is blues that much different from classic folk music which been around for hundreds before we pick your monkey asses up from africa? being sung by a negro with broken english does not really make it the precursor to all music. other than hendrix who was mostly just a great showman what black greats are there in rock? if its ur music then there should be many no?

  • @opicss how do you know white people created the instruments? even if that was the case don't you realise that it's the MUSIC made with it that has influenced indie? it's not MY music, it's music that has been influenced by several genres including blues, you fucking asshole.hell, even the xx say they love to listen to beyonce. bottom line is racism is fucked up. i;m ashamed and embarrased for both you and the other douche. race should be kept out of music.

  • @opicss Negro? Take your ass back to 1865. BLACK PEOPLE LOVE ALL TYPES OF MUSIC. Some of you guys make me worried you obviously need to get out more and expierince different types of people.

  • I just find it odd that Jay-Z got into Grizzly Bear that quickly. I've had Veckatimest for about a few months and only now am I getting into the groove of the record. Grizzly Bear looks like the type of band that takes a while to get used to.

  • @MaSoisSoful I dunno, i seemed to get into them within a day or two. As soon as I heard 2 weeks, I got their album, and since then i've listened to it constantly. Maybe if indie, or rock isn't quite your thing, it could take awhile to get into..

  • I'm really into everything, ya know? Some records come you at easily, and some don't. I love the album now more than ever, but I remember struggling with it. I mean, Animal Collective wholly out there and I got hip to them fast.

  • @MaSoisSoful I disagree. I liked most of it pretty much as soon as I heard it

  • I happily take back what I said. I don't want to sound like I'm disapproving of the band because they are great. I just remember having such a time with it. I love it now. It's a classic.

  • i just hope they dont dig in to much and ruin something sincere....

  • really good live sound quality. especially for an outdoor show.

  • it's not about them being black, surely it is about them being 'mainstream' artists. I'm sure as big a fuss would be made if lady gaga turned up and jammed at a Grizzly Bear gig. People have an idea that mainstream artists are so sheltered that they have no concept of 'alternative' music and that is probably true about a lot of them... it's just good to see that they're not all self absorbed idiots.... and that they have good taste in music.

  • stfu beyonce im trying to jam to this

  • Thanks....pimping ain't easy....

  • well at least they're vibing together good here..other vids I've seen..not so much..

and whoever got such a bangin ass exclusive clip such as this is pimp of the year!!

  • People need to stop believing that black people only listen to certain types of music. Or that rappers would stick to their corner. Real musicians love music in whatever genre as long as it's good music. And anyone who claims to love music too, would live by the same creed.

  • @leonx360 but dude, creed sucks ass

  • @leonx360 amen. :)

  • @leonx360 - Good point. Do you reckon hip hop producers probably are the one's most likely to have a wider taste in music as they expose themselves to a lot of different types of music to find samples and the likes?

  • @leonx360 yea kanye west said something like this too like a person that works at Starbucks doesnt go home and wanna drink coffee they wanna have anything but coffee it's just like a rapper they wanna listen to anything but rap

  • Pretty cool to see them out in the open like that, where there no body guards? and I swear it looks like Beyonce's having a pint? hahaha, they do some fairly regular stuff for a *power couple* its good.

  • I'm the only one who noticed Dave-1 of Chromeo in the left corner !?

  • @frankmpn I noticed that too

  • @MsSquirt22 hecks yeah!

  • Wow! Grizzly Bear is Awesome!:D and to think that Beyonce and Jay-Z can appreciate them proves that They are even more awesome! :D :D

  • @MsSquirt22

i know right im black 2 and ive been hearing a few of their tracks and they are NICE!

  • did she say im going to the bathroom or shes in the bathroom and did he say im watching you...lmfao ahahahahhahaa

  • So, what if I like Indie rock, hate hip-hop, and like black people? :| ???

  • she said lets bounce lmaoo that bitch dont kno music

  • @187onYaAs well said..She secretly hates white people,ay..

  • Comment removed

  • hahah is that solange behind beyonce

  • Beyonce is like ,lets get outa here J ,thems boys isa white, whatchall doing dancin to dat music....

  • @mantooth3245 dumbass seriously i think she's enjoying herself or else she wouldn't be there. Just because you know her from her music doesn't mean she can't like someone elses especially one that is from another genre. People are so small minded.

  • @3194shi She's the dumbass for telling Jay Z to leave the Grizzly Bear and follow her over to Timberland......

  • @mantooth3245 And how the hell do you know she said that? Can you read minds asshole?

  • @3194shi Jay Z is one of very few who sites good music as good music and dosent get into the whole,oh their white ,i don't like their music attitude, "i take my hat off to that man indeed".Beyonce on the other hand has still got her mind set in the old days of the oppression and would only speak highly of and give time to the musics of Lauren Hill,Jill Scott,Missy Elliot etc .You can see the pattern in her choices..But as long as their are Jay Z's in the world ,their is some hope yet.. :)

  • @mantooth3245 If Beyonce gave praise to or time to artist like Lauryn Hill or Jill Scott then maybe her music would actually be good. Are white musicians who praise their favorite artist like the beatles, the who, rolling stone etc (who are white) are they considered to still be in the old days of not giving props to their black counterparts? If she likes to praise those artist who happen to be black then those are her influences. Her genre of music is R&B just like Jill scott & Lauryn Hill.

  • @3194shi lets just hope she can take a note out of Jay Z's book and give praise to those who deserve it,not because of a skin colour..And i still hear the Whites giving praise to Hendrix all the time ,And look at eminem and all the wannabe white gangsters in the world ,who want to be black so much they talk with the same manurisms and slangs.the other way around aint ever gonna happen with the black community.Call it a land slide victory to the urban community, hating on the white folk..

  • @mantooth3245 Seeing there you go stereotyping Black individuals not everyone in the Black community hates white people or use "slang" and what mannerisms do black people have? Do you know every Black person non-American or American? Wow Jimi Hendrix one black guy who was half white that's just so much praising right there. And what is acting white and what is acting black? Black people are their own individuals the same as Whites. You are a very pathetic small minded person.

  • @3194shi what mannerisms do black people have? talking with their hands and that gangster limp/walk..not everyone in the Black community hates white people? just the majority.Jimi Hendrix ,Stevie Wonder,George Benson,Whitney Housten...You are a very pathetic small minded person.I'm one of the very few that see's how it is.I like alot of black people,it's just that alot of them don't like whites, which isnt fair considering the love they get from the majority of the white community ie fans ..

  • what grizzly song is this?

  • @jakesakook Ready, Able.

  • @jakesakook Ready Able

  • open your mind with age... that s it!

  • hahah this is so great!

  • She drinks, go figure!

  • im not a fan of hip hop or pop culture but its kind of good to see that jayz and beyonce have good taste in music. grizzly bear rocks!! and "ready, able" the song that was playing is my favorite from them.

  • Good music is good music. Period!

  • @mantooth3245 racism hilarious!

  • @derichafer lol ,cheers ,i love reading my comments as well,at least its original.. cheers for response :)

  • lol at Jay-Z

  • I WOULD'VE BEEN GROOVIN TOO THIS SHiT GOT A GROOVE

  • what song is this???

  • @BecauseOfBoredom Grizzly Bear-"Ready, Able"

  • @BecauseOfBoredom ready, able

  • Anyone that can't see brilliance in many genres of music lack artistic depth. How an indie kid could hear Stevie Wonder, or Miles Davis, or The Meters, or Slick Rick, or Mos Def, and not sense the talent, blows my mind. And how a hiphop fan could hear Grizzly Bear, or LCD Soundsystem, or Radiohead, or Fleet Foxes, or The Pixies, and not also sense the talent, equally blows my mind.

  • I say a Grizz verse, I'm only bigging up my brother.

  • What song is this?

  • Why does there always have to be someone to film beyonce and Jay-Z. LEAVe them be to watch a damn show. Come ON

  • this little video made me smile:)

  • what's the title of that song playing?

  • @dsonceau Ready, Able

  • I doubt if they like it, but cool anyway! :D

  • @WePandas Jay-Z has said that modern alternative ("indie") pop and rock are going to replace hip hop as the most popular genre, and Grizzly Bear is one of his favorite indie bands.

  • @texashigh10 One can only hope.

  • It's amusing to me that the stars that the stupid ghetto kids like dig indie music, but the stupid ghetto kids are too moronic to look past stupid ghetto music.

  • Amen

  • @UserRED13 Really, I am ghetto for liking Jay-z oh because his black...so automatically his music is ghetto, am I still ghetto if I like the Grizzly Bears? Probably not to you, seeing as how their white guys that perform indie music? Small-minded assholes like you is why there is still racism in the world.

  • @3194shi No, I am referring to the way people act and how closed-minded they are. Someone could be "ghetto" no matter what they like.

I guess that the fact that I am happily in an interracial relationship has nothing to do with this.

  • @UserRED13 Wow it took you basically a month to respond to whatever I said. What does you having to be in a interracial relationship have to do with anything? Do you want an award or a pat on the back for dating someone outside your race?

  • @3194shi I have better things to do than to reply to someone who's misconstruing my words on YouTube immediately. You don't get it. Race has nothing to do with it. It's how people act and carry themselves. I've met people of all races who you (or themselves) could call "ghetto." Der.

  • @UserRED13 I have better things to do with my time as well asshole don't reply to me a month later like I'm suppose to remember what ever you said. I think your comment consist with you saying along the lines that Jay-z was Ghetto because his a rapper.

  • @3194shi The whole conversation is in the comments. I said that many of Jay-Z's FANS are ghetto because they are CLOSED-MINDED. His being a rapper has nothing to do with it. I have a lot of respect for Jay-Z and many other rappers, for that matter.

  • I like all the weird criticisms that have arisen here of all the artists concerned. a lot of people seem to a bit too bothered about different 'types' of music. Indie/Rock/hip-hop/R&B whatever. It's all just music, surely. There are two important kinds of music, good and bad. Grizzly Bear, Jay-Z and Beyoncé have all made some great music and I've got great admiration for all of them. So has Solange in fact.

  • is jay z making fun of the way everyone is dancing? or is that for real?

    either way its funny

  • @nepalnt21 no, he's diggin it.

  • let the man groove.

  • whats really popping is that dave1 from chromeo is in this video. who's jay-z?

  • random how beyonce was standing higher then everbody else

  • OMG, they were ~5 feet from me at that show and I didn't even notice! Hahahahaha! Awesome.

  • You gotta love closed minded elitist who act like they have superior taste in music, there is only good and bad music. There are bad underground/indy artist and good commercial/pop artist, also vice versa.

  • @usmarineoneil Let me try and give examples. Bad underground/indie artist? Chris Garneau (incoherent lyrics and voice). Good commercial/pop artist? Alicia Keys, maybe? Or perhaps Bruce Springsteen?

  • what song is this?

  • this is ready, able off of the new album.

    my personal favorite.

  • Ready, Able

  • Good artist are artist artist. Pop Art is for the masses. If you judge a band by record sales then they'll never get big. If you judge them by the quality of their audience this video is not suprising. To say Other artist cant appreciation this is like saying other artist have no ears and no soul. . GB and the others are great bands and they or may not hit a certain sales margin. But they'll always be great musicians. To say Beyonce would not appreciate GB music in an insult to both parties.

  • who wouldve thought...mainstream artists luv indie music?!

  • you can see his lips from here, yeah that's definitely him.

  • I like that they decided to go out and have a good time like everybody else.

  • solange is jammin over there lol

  • Damn, this video is interesting for only three reasons:

    1) Two celebrities are attending a public event.

    2) A rapper and a hip-hop/R&B artist are attending an indie rock event.

    3) Two Black people are attending a music event where the target audience is not Black people.

  • More specifically it's that a rap artist that indie kids love is attending the trendiest art-rock band since Arcade Fire's show.

  • I'm not sure that indie rock is a racial thing dude ^^

  • @19TSEliot48 wtf kinda bullshit r u talking? Who the hell said this wasn't for black people also? Ignorant

  • Yeah, he's a dumb ass.

  • bitch kiss our black asses!

  • @19TSEliot48 right. because all black people dont have a fucking clue about this scene at all. we are poor and inferior right?....... wow, what a typical novice hipster douchebag you are, obviously you dont get out, u just browse the web for "cool shit" with your biggot elitist attitude.

  • @thedezoe I love you for saying that.

  • o wow

  • Agree with Ivon 1005 like he said good music is good music i actually like both these guys jay z and grizzly bears ...

Im just over the moon the way the indie scence is going lately , im from england and indie is and always has been big over here , but id love to see indie give a good battle to rap in the charts.

  • @chanceie12 Problem is it's very hard to find a good popular indie record, you really have to dig to find some true gold. Alot of the Indie that fills our UK charts is just landfill pop, that's dressed up as being credible. Lots of NME-touted shit, Coldplay's Razorlight's, Killers and Kook's. Basically once a movement comes to mainstream prominence it starts to become commercialised, as it's the 'Next Big Thing', it'll have two years of glory days in the mainstream and then be bled dry.

  • Those are some good bands you named there.

  • @chris71388 They're not, they're homogenous shit.

  • @Kagemusha22 They are good bands to bad you have bad taste.

  • @chris71388 Well at the end of the day it's all subjective, but I know what I like, and I think that The Killer's, Razorlight, Coldplay, the Kooks and bands akin to them are shit.

Whilst to me good indie is Super Furry Animals, Radiohead, Gang of Four, Portishead, The Smiths, TV on the Radio, The Fall, The xx, Joy Division/New Order, The Go! Team, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Beck, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jesus & Mary Chain, LCD Soundsystem, The Kills, and etc.

  • wow they were just hanging out without security guards?

  • Music is music, genres are just the construct of those who want to fit in. Jay Z knows good music, he used to write a lot of it.

Anyone who claims to like indie music that also doesn't like hip hop music knows nothing about indie music.

  • @IvonoftheGWF hahaha yeah thats logical... i loathe hip-hop, just cause it may have been considered "indie" in the early 90's doesn't mean its not unintelligent, imbecilic dribble.

  • @mydogisawesome888 @mydogisawesome888 It doesn't mean that

Did you know the main singer of the indie band Why? has a hip hop side project? There are pleanty of great hip hop artists, Underground hip hop has a lot of intelegent messages. But going off the logic your using rock music is just whiny teenage boys wearing makeup singing about girls breaking up with them. Grizzly bear proves that wrong by themselves, so don't do the same thing to hip hop.

  • @IvonoftheGWF ..i'm not sure why you believe I was anatomizing the content of rock music, but I would hardly describe gb as "rock" anyway, so...?

  • @mydogisawesome888 I'm going by how you generalize hip hop by it's popular and most negitive entries. If you do the same thing with rock music, you end up with rock being the same mindlessness just performed by emo kids. And yes, Indie rock is a derivitive of rock, it's not a coincidence that indie rock has the word rock in it's name, so grizzly bear would fit under that same generalized label in your small minded world.

  • @IvonoftheGWF "Anyone who claims to like indie music that also doesn't like hip hop music knows nothing about indie music."

Ridiculous comment dude. Complete and utter nonsense.

  • @TheAudioMedium1 To clarify, I enjoy much of both genres, however, that comment is insane. Saying you can't "claim to" like Grizzly Bear without liking Blackstar (insert whatever name you prefer into either slot) is the result of a condition known as dick for brains. Also, many people can sense the talent in many different styles of music, but when it comes time to sit down and listen to an album, they are going to choose the artists who has the talent of appealing to their particular taste.

  • @IvonoftheGWF that's kinda bullshit...... I grewup listening to nothing but good hiphop. All my music was hiphop and very little rock and Beck. I completely changed 4 years ago when I realized hiphop is really played out, it is all shit now. NOthing is original every wave of hiphop now is simple minded garbage. I still like a bit of the old rap I listened to but Indie rock, Real indie music is realllly what's up!

  • @IvonoftheGWF i just dont like jay z

  • i was at one of their concerts n Brooklyn last summer and jay z and beonce were there too.

  • i like jay z's music and grizzly bear's. i'm not really surprised that he is at a grizzly bear concert, he loves brooklyn.

  • Yeah, 'cause this Grizzly Bear shit is so astoundingly genius. .....

  • solange is gettin it lol she is not playin with that song lol

  • What song were they playing?

  • Who cares about those two? The band are infintely more talented than they could ever imagine to be

  • I have to disagree. Im not really the biggest hip-hop or R&B music fan, however Jay-Z is one of the most successful and influential artists in his genre of music, as is Beyonce. Saying Grizzly Bear are more talented than they could ever imagine to be is just plain stupid, because I doubt Grizzly Bear could do what Jay-Z does (or has done) in hip-hop, and likewise Jay-Z couldnt really outdo Grizzly Bear in THEIR genre of music.

  • no no... grizzly bear are more talented. just because jay z has a wider market doesnt mean you can say hes more talented. plus grizzly bear havnt been around as long. id love to see him construct a song as briliantly as that band do every time.

  • I never said he was more talented than grizzly bear are, I was insinuating that they are equally as talented in their respective genres of music.

  • It always pains me to see such bias against hip-hop. Especially when people claim that a band operating within the confines of a genre more than 50 years old is more talented than [xx rap artist] because they play instruments or whatever. I'm not sure if you got the memo, but you have to compose in hip-hop and you definitely can't be a slouch on the mic. If you think this isn't the case, try to make a rap song yourself.

    But whatever.

  • man you're an idiot

  • indie maaaan, yeeeh! you plank

  • +1. Well said.
