He may very well be able to sing in this range when he gets older. That kind of singer is called a countertenor. Type in Andreas Scholl and you will have a wonderful experience. He is my favorite.

It is church choir singing. It is Latin. Songs like this were sung by the Vienna Boys Choir; little boys who all have voices like this. I don't know if the Choir is still in existence, but it used to be years ago. Google the Vienna Boys Choir. I will check to see if they are on Youtube.
