I'm new at this and I have two questions-

1) After doing the slipknot, then casting on 24 stitches, doesn't that leave me with 25 loops? Then the two-by-two rib will be uneven because of an odd number of stitches? I knitted one row and ended with one knit stitch. Should I only have 24 loops altogether?

2) If I end a row on a purl stitch, what stitch do I begin the next row with? (and vice versa)

I wear fingerless gloves and i dont do it to "look rad"......i wear them for gaming and for keeping my fingers free because it proves easier than regular gloves and keeps your palms warm while letting you type and use your mouse easily.......

i think that is definitely possible because I did that myself when I made some without using instructions. you could either just pull the yarn through using the hook. Or you can do a stitch like the single slip stitch.

I'm glad to have watched & learned from this tutorial clip. Thank you for posting & share with us. The only problem I'm having is that the fingerless glove I finished making, from following this vdo's directions is that it doesn't fit my hands. But it fits a 2 yr old's hands. I'll try again by casting on 50 stitches instead of 25 & see how it goes.

Knit 15 rows of two-by-two rib stitch -- knitting two stitches, purling two stitches, etc.

It usually depends on how thick you want the lines created by the ribbing to be. I'm sure you could probably do a 1x1 rib if you really wanted to.
