  • 3 people were looking for the cyst section of youtube

  • I hate him. After watching this I can never pick up a guitar again

    lol

  • I love these little groovy tunes he pulls out of nowhere. Once again I'll lock myself in a room for 4 weeks trying to get this one down.

  • Lol Tommy went off on the guitar at like 1:35 to1:50

  • what is the brand of the guitar he's playing on this video??, is he not with Maton anymore??

  • Really cool TE tune, it's one of my favorites. Also nice that it changes key in the middle section, it gives more depth to the piece.

  • He doesn't play.He amazes.

  • Does anyone know or have the tab for this song?

  • this song looks pretty hard to play....kinda...a lot

  • I don't think there will eve be a bad tune played by Tommy!

  • How on earth can one acquire these skills? Is it even learnable?

  • @MrKarlBecker yeah...if you practice your whole life many many hours a day...provided you have some talent....otherwise,...no...not learnable...

  • @synesthesia67 - I once read that he practiced up to 16 hours a day. How encouraging for the rest of us... :P

  • Simply indescribably amazing. As usual ...

  • reminds me of a mario theme song

  • That guitar got owned.

  • 1:30 this bass thing kicked me out of my shoes

  • This is called stride style, right after ragtime, and pre boogie boogie.

  • A performance polished to perfection.

  • This guy is quite simply beyond reproach, a true gent and the one and only cgp on the planet!! completely addictive and a joy to watch, an electro-acoustic master......pure talent...pure genius..hope he plays forever..

  • i thought this song was just the boom chick style but the rhytms r different and really hard because of it

  • These videos are awesome because you get a clear view of Tommy's hands at all times, so you can watch what he's doing. That's what makes them bad, too. Time to burn some guitars.

  • the 2 fuckers that voted this down can expect a tomahawk through the window of there house. haha

  • Tommy is a great guitar player as is his brother Phil. I wish they would play together more often. I have one c/d with them and they make a great pair and sound great together. Please do one for all your followers.

  • He doesn't just play guitar he actually loves the guitar

  • Tommy gets better every day!

It scary, amazing tune oh and the guitar too

  • yess !!!

  • Youtube exists 5 years. Thank the guitar-lord for that. Since then I've discovered players that are awesome, incredible ... but the bottom line is: I always come back to Tommy. He is the MAESTRO.

  • what kind of guitar is it?

  • @XaXotyn

I believe it is Maton, made in Australia. Maton has a TE Series based on Tommy's specifications.

  • @steamboatsblues It's certainly NOT a Maton guitar.

  • That Sand Guitar is a killer machine...

  • I love TE jamming around. He has obviously a lot of fun.

By the way, the Kirk Sand Steel String Guitar makes a great sound. Just what you would expect from a guitar that costs you 6000 bucks ...

  • I love you Tony. LOL. Tommy!!! You are literally the best on Earth.

  • My nephew said Tommy must not have had any friends when he was younger, Plenty of time for practice. Kids are funny. Great video and guitar picking. I watched most of these and they are all great.

  • Quote from Wikipedia: " Eric Clapton, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, and Joe Satriani all say that he is the best they have ever heard which is a testament to his extraordinary abilities."

  • Type in tommy emmanuel "center stage steve vai.

Check out what Steve vai says about him.

    Ya didnt mention that one.

I'm going to see him in May and have arranged to meet the god before the show...

  • Steve Vai says: "Tommy Emmanuel is not the future guitar playing because even in the future I don't think people will gonna be able to play like that". Enough I'd say ;D

  • @noelmeehan agreed, tommy has been labelled as the best by many guitarists such as chet atkins and eric clapton. he truly is a master.

  • I think regardless on the amount of time he has practiced he is a virtuoso. A normal person could do exactly as he has and practice as much as he has and follow every step he has to be as good as he is and they'd still never be as good as him. He has a natural talent . Funny thing is that just when you think you've seen the extent of his talent he blows you away with something else.

  • Wow that's a tough one to play, holy crap.

  • That should be a Kirk Sand guitar if not mistaken.

  • 1:30 - 2:00 is just mental, there's not a lot I wouldn't give to be able to do that! 1:37 just rocks as well!

  • This is so much fun to watch. Thank you for posting all those videos from CAAS. It must be great to see him live playing in such a small setting.

  • I think Tommy is actualy the best guitar player in the world.

  • @spatialfrance I actually think you're right! There's no comparison to him.

  • @spatialfrance Clapton said so! :)

  • @spatialfrance still think lenny breau was the best all time.. (but that's my personal taste) but tommy is the best alive :-) great technique, great sound, great arrangements, great energy, great guy, he's the best :-)

  • @spatialfrance I think so...as far as the steel string acoustic is concerned...it's hard not to factor chet atkins in the mix there....segovia the king of classical...which is really a different instrument...and solidbody electric is another different instrument..hendrix...danny gatton...shawn lane....but I think tommy probably still has the highest difficulty factor of them all!!...IMO

  • @spatialfrance ...and then there's jazz...oh gawd...charlie hunter does some amazing things...I love Joe pass and Lee ritnour too...but tommy just seems to enjoy the guitar more than anyone on earth...I think that's what makes him the best...

  • @spatialfrance there's no possible ranking in art.

  • @spatialfrance he's next in line after Chet Atkins ;)

  • Love this!

  • Farkin Wiiicked!!! that solo from 1:30-2mins is pure talent yeah

  • his whole playing is pure talent..

  • @pootubeftw wrong its 16 hours a day since he was 4 he says

  • @AgentZeroForTheWin That has to be a lie, what's your source?

  • his mouth, numerous times, his biograohical book/guitar style, his manmager, and his sounnd crew man, numerous times at concerts

  • @AgentZeroForTheWin Yeah, okay, it's all very well you saying that but I'd need some links to be know for sure. TE will need much more than 8 hours sleep a day when he's super busy and also, he has to make time for many other things in his day rather than 16 hours solid practice.

  • well he said in his teens he played 16 hours a day but then he slowed down some and then he took a break for several years to be a drummer in gold rush and then he had some health problems due to his obsession so he had to take a year away. and then after chet died new life was breathed into him as you can see with all his subsequent albums since 2001 startiung with Only his fist acoustic one which obviously is his speciality

  • Who the hell would give this video anything else than 5 stars??????? Someone did...

  • Probably an electric guitar shredder. hahah lol

  • A complete looser none the less

  • Ahh well. Genepool is shallow eh.

I love my shred guitar and play it myself but this is just solid coolness. Love Sir Tommy, great guitarist. Some people just dont appreciate good playing when they see it.

  • No, unfortunately not.

  • or just someone who don't like the music ^^

  • Then why get here??? I don't go and vote every emo-death-metal video on youtube down, just because I don't like them! But hey, what are ya gonna do???

  • It's the purpose of the comment system on youtube ;) You just get here because you're curious and you've the right to tell what you think of it, it's not a fan club ^^. But they musn't exagerate and vote a video down just for fun it's stupid and unfair...

  • I must admit, the voting on youtube is a bit overexagerated, but this is a true 5 to the bone!

  • I vote every emo death metal video down. LOL. Tommy most likely is the best guitarist on earth, it's 100% flawless, just like Chet was.. Chet is one of my heroes, but alot of Tommy's stuff is alot more complex.

  • lol weirdos

  • @torod213

    stars... ( : good times

  • @MaggoGuitar hah, true dat... But I think thumbs work. I never gave a vid anything other than 1 or 5 stars anyways, og only 5 in Tommy's case...

  • Just awesome..! tommy has some great skills !

  • Who wrote this?

  • Tommy did.

  • just great! ty for the posts leo!

  • This piece is fantastic! That performance was great...

  • He is GRRREEEAAATTT !
