The tall girl is Gwendolyn Gillingham-McIlvaine, and she is 6'7". She played basketball for North Carolina, and is now married to 7'1" Jim McIlvaine. She has an older sister Heidi Gillingham who played basketball for Vanderbilt and is 6'8",even though they listed her at 6'10". These girls out grew even there father who was 6'6". Oh, and I love Junior Brown :)
there's just something about a good lookin broad in a medium length skirt sneaking around a corner to the sound of a steel guitar that just gets me off.
junior brown is one of the very best country muscians ia have heard in along time the only reason he is not recognized is because he actually makes music and doesn't give a shit about popularity or being a part of the in crowd to hell with pop country give me junior any day
I was never in to country until I heard Junior Brown. Then I went back and listened to old country, and realize the same thing that happened to rock and pop happened to country. All corporate music sucks.
We all have our demons Junior, like D.A Coe has been snubbed and regardless your opinion both are good at what they do. I am old enough to have been an admirer of J. Rogers and Juniors "Gal from Oklahoma" is a labor such that not only are vocals, guitar dead on but the peripheral crap that came w/singing in to a can....the dif in binary and wax. Junior record some blue yodels.....all around the water tank, standing in the rain, a million miles away from home, not a penny to my name.......
I don't know too much about this new-fangled country music. I heard this recording on the radio and thought it was Ernest Tubb. I've been looking at every Tubb LP for the last 10 years, wondering why I couldn't find this song. I'm a little embarrassed because I buy and sell records. I'm gonna look into this Junior Brown!
I love the way how they put this video like an old-fashioned 1900's film with just music. I am not a music country music fan but I came across this song on the radio and I actually like this song. It is a good country song with a steel guitar.
I hate to say this but if this music doesn't work out then I think he's got a fiture as the new Ernest P Worrel simply based on his facial expressions
I think Junior is just bit taller than me, I don't know? But I think I could kiss Gwendolyn Gillingham's belly button standing straight up, or at least I'd like to try! :-)
@southernprideyankee Non pedal? IDK Lotsa guys out there that are damn good. Jr get the vote for playing the 8 string lap mixed with a 6 string 25.5" scale twangin 6string, switching from one to the other. Curlie Chalker, Don Helms, Shot Jackson, Speedy West, and on and on. There are a lot of really great steel players I refuse to sell short by making it a competition. I do really love Jr. Brown, and #1 is a lovely thought but, aint no such thing as #1. Its music like it or don't & I LOVE this!
Haven't read all the other comments but I just gotta say that whoever directed this must have a deep knowledge/appreciation for the silent era...KUDOS on an excellent job! There are so many subtle (and accurate) bits of business that are clearly of this genre. Am astounded at Junior's funny antics and he somewhat reminds me of Buster Keaton in some mannerisms and wardrobe. Thoroughly enjoyable song AND video!
How the hell did they get a bike for her to ride on, her legs are so freakin' long at 6'7, and I like to know what the other song she's on with him, I think that was the funny one!
Nope, they didn't invent real country and they can't kill it. I do believe, however, they have made themselves irrelevant. They are just another town with recording studios. Very few people look to Nashville for good music like this anymore.
Nashville very likely wouldn't be regarded as the "capital" of country music today if it weren't for the Grand Ole Opry, broadcast by WSM. The first country recording sessions took place in Bristol, TN/VA.

acctualy I think he's is awsome, on his style, we cant say 'better of all' or 'best of world' cause each musician has his own style, all kind of expressions like that can sound a little confusing and some time can be unfair to other musicians, they're all good, not bad not better, each musician has his inspiration like I sayd. Love Junior brown style
