Reagan tried that whole "cut taxes for the wealthy so they can stimulate the economy" thing. He said we'd all benefit. Called it "trickle down theory." (He acted like it was a new idea, but it was actually regurgitated Halzitt).
Well, I am old enough to remember that it DID NOT TRICKLE DOWN. The Brandon Davises of the world did NOT reinvest their new-found wealth. They spent it on luxuries.
That's right. The theory flopped. Rich got richer, everyone else got the shaft.

The only two times during the Bush administration where our economy received a boom was the year after the tax rebates.
Those rebates meant nothing to the rich, but meant quite a bit to middle America. If anything Bush proved bottom up economics, not trickle down.
