if its large enough and fast enough it will kill a deer.. any bullet can if it can transfer its energy into the target causeing damage ie death..but for a bullet to be effective it has to travel down a metal tube trapin the gases to push the bullet down the tube less gas loss means more power ie speed.. the bigger the bullet the more mass hiting the target.. it would be uneathical to use on deer.. But could work in theory or blow up on you..
