  • hey sanjay... can you suggest if i want to kip garlic for 3 days after adding salt and lime juice do i need to put it in refrigerator or outside so as to get rid of raw flavor of garlic? secondly do sound if the pickle needs to b kept in refrigerator post final mixing of limed garlic and sauce.   • Yea, he need too....loss track after the garlic and ginger paste..........I not sure what he used , he accent is hard to understand...but I LOVE pickled garlic, please post your ingredient on the left hand please........................­.

  • @iheartyou4ever115 From vid : I cup oil 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds pinch hing 1 Tbs ginger-garlic paste curry leaves pinch turmeric 1/2 cup jaggery (gur (Hindi), vellam (Tamil) -raw unprocessed cane sugar in Indian stores 1/2 tsp cumin pwdr 1 tsp coriander pwdr 1/2 tsp fenugreek powder 1/4 c lemon juice 1/2 cup chili/cayenne pwdr - special one for pickles avail. in Indian stores. approx 2 cups garlic pods (sm to med size) approx 1/2 lemon juice salt to taste and preserve pickle

  • Jaggery, look it up on Wikipedia.. It's yummy sugar!

  • Boiled down, and solidified sugarcane juice. You'll find it in any Indian store.

  • You can simply opt not to put the jaggery. It should work just fine. I've never had a hot and sweet garlic pickle, just hot garlic pickle.

  • the oil acts like a preservative. pickle is a condiment and to be eaten in moderation, just for the flavour.

  • You consume about a teaspoon of pickle with your meal. That's it. Plus, the spices in the pickle and the heat helps digest the oils quickly. That's why Indian pickles are hot.

    For christ's sake this is a pickle, stop whining...have you seen olives pickled in oil ? the same way other things are pickled in oil which is a natural preservative.

    No one eats pickle by itself - is a condiment and eaten very little, as a side with other dishes.

  • In India we eat it with Rice mixed wid Dal/Sambar/Rasam.

    Do not eat too much ! Just a spoonful as a side dish :)

    Some ppl love this wid Alcohol lol :)
