i prefer Niko to come from wore torn Eastern Europe. Growing up in Serbia his ancestry isn't specifically from there, but in that region. which makes this character all the more better if he didn;t have a specific nationality, because he's lost in the world, including America. Some things are better not known which makes him more powerful as a character. which in my opinion the best game character ever made.

There is talk when you go with date with Patrick sisters where Niko says to her that Romans mother was massacrated by aircraft bomb and he never said that to Roman and insted he said that she died from fire. And I know there were no air bombing on Serb cities until 1999 by NATO. And Roman went to USA during war. So which means that he is not Serb, or at least fight for Serbs. I don't have this game couse I played it at friend and that talk is happening in probably 3rd or 4th date with her.

Niko is Serbian because at the 1. or 2. mission he says : Roman , your Serbian isnt good. (or something else in that way) . in the Newspape(for games) in Germany they also sayed that. I am bosnian

Doesn't that show you that Serbs (I'm Serb) and Croats are in fact one people with EXTREMELY minor differences? We have been artificially made to hate each other by mindless media and propaganda influenced by west (wests doctrine was divide and conquer). on je srpski bosanac sa hrvatskim akcentom, neznam shta vama nije jasno! rockstar je namjerno stavio tako da se mi nebi prepirali oko toga, ali izgleda da nije upalilo. Ja sam crnogorac i neutralan sam u vezi koje je niko nacionalnosti, koje god da je super je jel ipak balkan je prakticno jedna nacija :D
