I don't know what gave me chills more: the blistering legato runs, the harmonics, or the way hell's fury erupts in the most unexpected places. Astounding technique merged with absolute passion. Rachel, you belong in the hall of the greats.
absolutely amazing. i love the spanish composers (being spaniard myself) and I could not find anything about Cesar Espejo. The last name means "mirror". I even looked up in Wikipedia Spanish pages to find something. You are so lucky to know such a captivating work. When listening to this, you grabbed the attention of even my cat who set attentively in my lap. Bravi Mrs. Barton Pine. I truely admire your rich soul you pit into your music. Gracias.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH... woowowowowow... is really really amazing!!!!!!!!!..... i think this is one of the most incredible violin performances i've ever seenn!!!!!:.. rachel you are my idol!! xD and also, you're so funny playing the violin!... very charismatic!!!....Gretings and keep going on!!... I also play the violin but no amazing as YOU!!!XD
Actually, Sarasate, Monti, Espejo, and many others wrote "composed, classical" versions of gypsy songs, so they all drew from the same source - real gypsy fiddling.
Yes, Espejo composed a number of other short works for violin, mostly in a Spanish/Latin style.
is this just solo violin or is there an accompiment? it sounds great but almost like it could use at least a piano to accentuate some stuff in the faster passages and maybe establish a tempo in the slower. idk, well it sounds really cool anyways.

I love this piece. I find it is similar to Czardas, which I just started, but surpasses it on so many levels...Awesome, keep tearing up that fiddle!!

sounds like a theme and variation on ravels tzigane

AMAZING!!!!
However, I think that Mr. Espejo had some influence from Saraste's Tzigane and Monti's Czardas.
Did he right anything else?

Oh that's good too know. I don't know much about the style of violin peices. I'm a counter-tenor and a violist of like a year

This is a gorgeous and bravura performance of one of the finest violinists today. How wonderful of Rachel to tell this extraordinary story of Isadore
Zinnman. I know his daughter...and am so pleased to view this video.

It sounds like a Paganini piece. Is there any known influence?
