@star50ify I love liberals. Defense is actually only 20% - not 50%, that's insane. Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security (Entitlements) take up 43%. And Defense spending tends to stay constant, with entitlements grow every year. In the end, military spending is an absolute necessity, what with stability and protection being the raison d'etre of the government, and taking care of "the poor" not even really hitting the top ten.

The question about faith, that should it matter when selecting a candidate. I found the answers by these candidates kind of hypocritical the way the republican party handled Obama's faith and confused the masses of him being a Muslim in the 2008 elections. So, yeah when it is a Muslim as president, it should matter, but not if you are Jewish or Christian.
Usually always agree with Paul, I've got to correct him on his statement about our troops in Japan, since I live here, most of the tab for those troops are picked up by the Japanese tax payer, not everything, but lot's. If the troops left, I would be terrified by having North Korea and China right next door. I would not leave if they left and I would not return to my home in the US, but I would try to find weapons for myself and family here. China gets more terrifying the richer they get.

Ron Paul is like the daddy. he puts everything in perspective instead of flinging around meaningless logos around like the rest (especially Bachmann) does. I sincerely hope he has a chance. If I have to register as a Republican for the primaries, I will. Everyone else check to see if your state has open or closed primaries, and change to Republican if you want to vote for Paul! The most troubling part of this debate came between 2:28 and 2:36.

I think a lot of his ideas would be awful for the working class, but it is detrimental to our economy that we end our foreign wars and our foreign occupations. The question about faith, that should it matter when selecting a candidate. I found the answers by these candidates kind of hypocritical the way the republican party handled Obama's faith and confused the masses of him being a Muslim in the 2008 elections. Usually always agree with Paul, I've got to correct him on his statement about our troops in Japan, since I live here, most of the tab for those troops are picked up by the Japanese tax payer, not everything, but lot's. If the troops left, I would be terrified by having North Korea and China right next door. I would not leave if they left and I would not return to my home in the US, but I would try to find weapons for myself and family here. China gets more terrifying the richer they get.

Dr. Paul has perspective and understands the consequences of bad foreign policy. He is a veteran and gets more support from the military than all other Repub candidates combined. Per the constitution, war is declared by Congress. Congress is supposed to be influenced by the people. If the people don't want war, Congress will not declare it and neither will President Paul. The military industrial complex will have to focus on defense.

He doesn't understand why defence treaties should be obligated, doesn't think groups like HAMAS are terrorists, doesn't understand the Korean situation... The list goes on. He'd embolden Iran and ignite a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, on account of how badly Saudi Arabia and others fear Iran's old history of aggressive expansionism.
